Oh, I should clarify that this method would require you to have a twitch channel set up, in case that wasn't clear. I'm basically gonna watch the racers' streams and capture those.
Would we want to try to set up a channel on the main TT discord for this? |

I'd totally be down to try this again, especially if it's easier to set up and get going now that OBS exists. I even have a Twitch channel ready, and I've even streamed on it one time! Nobody watched. |

I am down for racing times.
I had a pentathlon (to host) in mind at one point, but I don't really remember where what the details of most of it were and really I'm not fond of the tech issues they were prone to with the way we used save states... |

I'm going to be out of town next weekend to weekend, but maybe when I get back we can set something up. If I'm hosting the first one I'd just want to do a straight run of a single game to kick off the dust.
As for runner setups, you'd want to send JUST your game audio to your twitch stream, and then have just your mic on the discord. That way all the voices are in sync and I can toggle the game audio to the leader's stream. Naturally if your stream is unstable it won't work so well, but I'm not worried about the little bit of desync we'll get from that a/v setup for our casual style of streams. As for pentathlons, I think the best way to do that would be to make some text "cards" ahead of time to display on the stream, but that would take a LOT more prep work than I'm willing to do right now. I know that streamlabs OBS lets you log-in with your twitch account and it looks like it might let you carry over your scenes, but AFAIK there's no way to link the resources directly to it, so any images or stuff like timers I use would have to be relinked. But I think if anyone else wanted to host they could just use that log-in and at least have something to start with. |

It's a bit of work, but it makes for a nicer stream... |

For the debut race, we'll probably want to keep it really simple, likely meaning a single game with no bells and/or whistles. Minimize the opportunity for technical difficulties. |

Keeping in mind too that the goal here should be to make interesting streams, not "good"races, so people who just want to shoot the shit and run Mario again is fine with me.

I was gonna suggest A Robot Named FIGHT for some point in the future, but I don't have it on Steam, and while I wouldn't mind putting cashmoney on a copy I'm not too keen on replaying the game enough to unlock all the things.
Unless using seeds grants items you may not have unlocked yet? |

I have a few ideas on how to run a pentathlon live, worst case some things might have to be done in post.
There would be a bit of a format change this way, it seems live races would almost require a host. Before the "host" could be in the race, now at least it would take someone else running the switch board. I suggest taking a cue from Games Done Quick on how they do their streams. |

Maybe we could start with a Free Enterprise seed some evening or weekend?

Hey, I was out of town and then sick, but I still want to make this happen. Maybe Sunday night?

Depending on the time I should be down. It's a work night and I'm an hour and a half ahead of Eastern as it is but if it's not super late I'd like to make it.

I don't think I can commit to that time, but I think you should run it with whoever shows up. I'm happy to see Let's Racing back on its feet.

I'm interested in racing something, but I'm kinda constrained on the time front. My usual window of opportunity is from 10PM-midnight Eastern time, so whatever game I raced would have to be short (although in some cases you could use a time limit and see who could do the most X before time runs out). Some ideas for games that would work:
Any NES Mega Man Super Metroid VVVVVV Kero Blaster SMB 1 or 2 warpless SMB 3 timed (see who can get the farthest without warping in one hour?) SMW timed (see who can clear the most exits in an hour, verify by resetting and checking save file?) I'm sure there are plenty of other options, but this is what I can think of off the top of my head. |

Well like I said, I'm willing to share the twitch info with basically any TT regular if they want to host.
I'm thinking like 8:30 to 11:30 is my window most nights. But actually this Sunday doesn't work for me after all, so I'll have to figure out a night |

Wow the LRT discord is already more active than I expected!
Tentatively talking about doing a FF4FE race Sunday at 8:30. Anyone interested in that should hop on in on the channel, or let me know here |

Eastern, presumably?
This Sunday is a no-go. It'd have to be an hour later for me to have any chance. It's Easter, so others might have conflicts as well. But don't change the time on my account, especially if you get critical mass anyway. |

What makes it especially great is that there was an enemy right there, and it would have been way faster just to run into it.
