I'm just a maybe. I'll do a test run/recording after magic tonight and if it goes well I'm in if it doesn't disrupt anyone ease's schedule. I get home from work at 10PM EST normally and can't do it much sooner.

Also six is really pushing it on cross chatter, I'd guess.

Yeah, my good run is going to look a lot like Brick's, only with more shinespark failures (and a possible detour to the gauntlet before Phantoon, need to see how I do in my test play).

My path is kinda similar to the one in that video up ^ there (with extra super fail thrown in). Except I deviate after phantoon to pick up a few e-tanks and a bunch of missiles, because I haven't been able to pull off the super short charge (needed for the Draygon SS kill) and the zebetite glitch. So I gotta roll into that fight with at least 5 e-tanks and go into tourian with 65 missiles. XD

I would love to race Super Metroid, but 1) I try to make it a point not to participate in anything until I'm done with the one I'm working on, and 2) we've all experienced the hell that is my connection to skype, and of all the raceable games in the world, Super Metroid simply deserves better.

Plus I'm closing on Wednesday, so nyah.

Hah, now I'm really starting to feel like the newbie in that race. And I've been playing Super Metroid since I was 12.

Not sure how I compare to everyone, but my main strategy now is hoping at least someone messes up so I won't come last.
At least I'm fairly sure I won't keep dying on the final boss for an hour this time.

help i can't do the climb

Unpracticed run, first time touching the game since my Christmas video like two years ago, I got 0:56 (in-game), no deaths. I feel pretty good about that.

Rough spots:

- Showed up to Phantoon with no supers.
- Showed up to Draygon with no supers and no power bombs. (Longest Draygon fight ever!)
- Had exactly enough missiles/supers to destroy the zebetites and Motherbrain's glass. Yikes. I feel like I usually have a few more missile packs. (Finished with 32%, I think I usually have 36% or so.)

Stop playing on a keyboard :P

Yeah, count me out, way too out of pratice. Died failing the walljump over the spikes to the wavebeam.

EDIT: Though I do think I've got both my desync and my controller issues solved (thanks to Torgo for the idea to use a PSP as a controller, though a shame about the position of the start and select buttons).

K, I don't think Ill be able to play Super Metroid, not that you'll have trouble filling out the roster! Looks like this race could be the most competitive LRT has seen yet!

For other people not involved with super metroid, I mentioned a page or two back that I'd be interested in racing Blaster Master with TT. Is anyone else down for that? Maybe? no? ok..

If not Blaster Master though, I propose we do the Megaman 1-6 Robot Masters race. IE First person to beat all the robot masters in Megamans 1-6. Who is down with this idea??

Do you mean starting with savestates at the gates, or play every game through from title to the first non-master level?

I've never played MM6, the rest of the series I'm decent at (though, ugh, Ice Man's level).

I'm starting to think I may be out of racing times for a while based on these challenges! I'll probably hop in when people get to wanting to replay Mario or Mega Man 2 or something, but I'm no where near good at Super Metroid or the later MMs, and no offense, but fuck Blaster Master!

I think I'd be more interested in the next thing we do that's out of left field. I kind of wish I had been around for Rockin' Cats, even though I'm sure I would have been shit at it.

Yeah, I'm thinking just play straight through each game from the start up until you kill the last robot master. Like, once you land the last hit on the eighth robot master (or sixth, in the case of MM1), go on to the next game. No set order or anything. I don't think savestates are necessary, since none of those games really have an intro or anything.

And MM6 isn't really too difficult, so it shouldn't be too hard to learn!

This would be a pretty long race though, so not sure how many people would be up for it.. Maybe we could split it up into two races.. do 1-3 and 4-6 or something.

Yo, if the Super Metroid race happens in the next week or so, I'm not going to be able to commit to anything due to having family in town. Cool if you want to wait, but I totally understand if you just want to do it when it's most convenient for everyone.

I'd much rather wait and have Garrison join in our reindeer games. But it's your call, Nari.

I don't mind waiting myself, I just don't want Dadaph to be left out, because I know he's been practicing for it. So if we postpone again and still want to include Dadaph it might be a while.

you could always do two heats, if you still have like 8 people interested.
