It took me like a half hour to get to Cheese Bridge, and that is nearly at the #4 Castle.

The front half wouldn't be that bad, but the back half, man, I have no idea how to get trhough the forest or Chocolate Island easily

One day I'd like to do something with the STTB series one day. I think STTB1 could be interesting, since it's not a "path" but getting right number of stars to unlock the final battle, as fast as possible. STTB2 would take ... a while, but there's probably a short-ish route though.

I would just ignore the challenge in question and play "My Butt Hurts" over and over and over again.

The forest isn't bad at all, take the normal exits in stages 1 and 2, and the secret exit in 3 and you're at the castle. For choco island, take the normal exit in 1 and the ghost house, and the secret exit in 2, the normal exit in the secret and you're at the castle.

So would a time later on this evening be good for everyone? Say 8 or 9 ish?

A tad later than I'd like, but eff it, it's Friday. Sounds good.

Well how about we say 8 then?

Right now I am just waiting to hear from Brickroad to see if this time works, and Raocow to see if he is free tonight for it.

Potential Racers:

Narishm
Spoonybard
Brickroad
Shadow Warrior Luke
Raocow

I like the idea of racing SMW, but I'd be playing the second half the game 'blind' and I probably couldn't start for two hours anyway.

Well I'm open to starting later, but I think we are already pushing the lower limit for most of these guys.

Yeah, starting two hours from now would probably be too late for me.

Yo MMX gang, what time were we going to meet up tomorrow? Theoretically I'm good for any time, but I'm graveyard again tonight, which means sleep must be strategically planned.

Also, Mario 2 is just about done! It took a little more fiddling to get the desync adjusted how I wanted it, but it's lined up pretty good now. The soundtrack also took longer to cobble together because I never really realized that Mario 2 has like three friggin' songs. All that's left is adding the counter and adjusting everyone's volume. Please to be looking forward to it soon.

I haven't followed the thread at all but I think this is the standard all races should aspire to:

But no seriously if someone wants to race kusoge I would be all over that. I'm embarassingly good at most of Action 52, to start with.

Um, if there's any chance of this happening later today, I'm uh, I'm going to go to sleep. Like, right this exact second. It's been over a day since I slept and I had the crummiest, most frustrating night at work.

I'll probably be back up within six hours, but if you guys want to go ahead and record the commentary without me, that would be ok. As it is, I can promise you that I would be less than worthless right now...

(I gotta learn to get some sleep on Friday before my graveyard...)

Can we set a time?
Like how does like 8pm est sound? I'm at cet(est+6), so if we get it done by midnight est and I can get some sleep in the morning(local time) I'll be happy.

If we record then I might have to duck out in the middle.

Is two hours earlier possible at all?

We need a google calendar or something where people can just enter their availability.

For me: the earlier the better, and I can't possibly tomorrow or any day later than tonight(unless we wait another week, but that's out of the question I guess).
But Torgo's sleeping.
If he wakes up at 6 est and we can start then, I'm all up.

I was going to upload my SMW footage before I left for work, but I forgot, because I am awesome. So awesome.

Also, I really don't want to exclude anyone from racing, because I don't want to be that guy... and I also hate to be all dickish about a guy who doesn't even have a TT account, but it's time for Shadow Warrior Luke to invest in a new microphone. He's a good player and I'm a sucker for accents, but it's just impossible to have a conversation with the guy while recording, and you can't hear what he's saying in the finished videos either.

I feel like shit saying that, but there it is.

Passed Brickroad's message on to Luke.

"Nah, it's cool. I honestly think the issue is the laptop."

He actually did get a new mic before SMB3 race, so he's doing some testing to see if he can track down the issue. Don't feel like you're being a dick!

brickroad more like dickroad amirite

Yeah, he says it's the soundcard, but I don't know about that. It seems like if it's the soundcard he should have trouble recording any kind of audio -- including the stereo mix -- so maybe he could start there.

Or you could tell him to get a TT account so we could brainstorm solutions here in the thread. That's what it's here for!

I sounds to me like it could be a hardware problem. My front headphones jack has a short or something and it sounds a lot like what his mic is doing. That's assuming he's using a jack mic and not a USB mic, of course, but it's something to troubleshoot.
