That's a possibility too, Super Metroid has proven to have a lot of popularity, but the most scheduling conflicts. I know of two non-TT YouTube peeps that are interested in a SM race too but have scheduling conflicts.

Who?

No offense, but I find our races to be interesting because I know the people racing. I don't watch other people's racing videos because I could give a shit what Bob on Youtube has to say about it. I don't know that I want to open up our races to a bunch of non-Tyrants.

E: I saying this as someone who enjoys watching all of the races, obviously, since I've only run a couple and am not organizing.

You've had non-tyrants racing the whole time. I wasn't an active member here until the races started up, eventually more and more people are going to take notice of that channel and this forum.

KefkaFlyod doesn't post much either (pretty sure he's Brick's friend IRL); I'm pretty cool with it being Tyrants and Friends, myself.

As long as we don't let that guy in. You know who I mean.

The difference is you took the initiative to join the forum and become an active member.

Unless you mean Sovan and kefka, in which case 1) they are two of my oldest and truest friends, and 2) they've raced exclusively with tyrants who know them.

(I'm still not convinced Shadow Warrior Luke exists. I mean, nobody's ever heard the guy! *ba-dum tsch*)

Anyway we aren't saying they can't ever race ever. It's just, we have plenty of people right here who want to run this game. We could easily fill two heats at totally different skill levels. Why go fishing outside?

Oh yeah, we have plenty of peeps for SM, I was just speaking to the popularity that there are other peeps I know that were interested in this particular game as well. Those guys and a few others helped me get my channel started up when I decided to do LPs, so they are friends and we chat from time to time.

I think multiple heats would work for Super Metroid, dividing the peeps up by skill to make the races tighter would be a good touch. I could host one with Dadaph and Destil and someone else, and you (Brick) could host the one with yourself, Garrison, Vorpal and someone else. ^_^ (If you want to host it that is, I could just race it twice if you don't ^_^)

Just so we're clear, nobody is going to stop you from running a race with whoever you want. Like there isn't a rule against it. Just... none of us are much interested in running with cats we don't know.

The better plan is to tell your pals to get a TT account, lurk the forum a while, get into a pissing match with Wolfgang, and then they'll be part of the gang.

Then we will make a big master list of race times so we all know everyone's shame.

Red Silvers: 7:34:56 - 32% (no I'm just kidding)

^ yeah, that's the stuff. I'm totally down with the races being a gateway to getting folks into TT. I'm just letting you know, if a race is a Tyrant and his three buddies, it's going to be much less interesting to me than four tyrants, and I think it would be super awesome if they joined up and said "hey" in here first. But I'm not trying to be a dick, and if you want to invite a friend in, go for it. I would suggest no more than one noob per race if you can now that we have a robust pool of people interested here.

I also forget that some of Brick's friends are tyrants (or aren't active?) because I've either met them or heard them on his LPs, so they feel like tyrants to me already.

Oh yeah, I'm not aiming to bring a bunch of non-tyrants around into the races, but if someone wanted to come along as a friend of me I wouldn't exclude them (at least not the first time, TT races should be handled here from the TT forums I think.)

Although, I think I missed getting into a pissing match with Wolfgang... was there a particular thread? -still bad at forums-

I'm still kind of in my lurk-mode phase here on the forums (joined largely due to Brick's channel and the races I saw on the Let'sRacingTime channel), but I have to say, the idea of doing some of these is appealing. Either way, I'm digging these. Keep up the great work.

So then, are you up for doing the second heat Brick? That way we can work it around Garrison's schedule (we will just have to compare times I guess XD).

I figure a balanced loadout would be Dadaph and Destil racing with me Wednesday, and maybe MCBanjoMike if he's still down. (No offence guys but Brick and (from what I hear) Vorpal are pretty damn good and Garrison well... see the video I posted a while back. XD)

For Megaman robot master race times, my Saturday morning/afternoon just opened up this week. Maybe we could do Saturday at like 2 EST / 11 PST? Anyone good with that? I don't want to do earlier than Thursday so people have at least a little time to practice. If not, we could push it to next week.

ALSO, I have no idea how to do this video processing stuff... I barely manage to get stuff recorded properly, but if someone wants to hold my hand through it, I could put in the elbow grease to get it done for this megaman race. (Maybe Red wants to help? ) I know it's all been explained throughout this thread, maybe someone could just point me to the post it was explained... I'm just bad.

Download and install VirtualDubMod and Avisynth, then bookmark the Avisynth wiki, and you're like 50% of the way there. Spend a few hours playing around with that stuff and Torgo and I can field some questions here.

The difference in times (from what I know) is from :50 to 1:10, so I think all of the peeps are pretty good. It's hard to say who should be in each heat I think. XD

I'm good with two races, especially if it means I have a slight chance of winning one of them(even if it is just because Narishm screws up here and there, but still a chance).

Seems more and more likely that I can race tomorrow. I even plan to sit up all night to turn my day around a little, so my European time zone is not really a problem for me that day.

I fired up my SNES last night and it was a world of difference playing with an actual SNES controller. No longer struggling with basic wall jumps or taking stupid amounts of damage from monsters. Killed Phantoon before calling it for the night (I cleared the gauntlet first just in case). Timer's pretty high already (47) but I spent at least 10 minutes seeing if I could pull off a mock ball before giving up and killing spore spawn.

So... I'm going to need to get a SNES USB adapter before I run this (or a TV capture card).

I use a Wii Classic Controller(USB adapter thingy) for my races. One of those new fashioned gold colored Classic Controllers with better grip and shoulder buttons.
It works wonderfully with Super Metroid, I can walljump and mockball mostly without errors.

... as opposed to playing the game on my WiiU, there's just something slightly off with the D-pad on that system. I spent half an hour trying to mockball for early Super Missiles, and even basic walljumping was tricky. Both the Gamepad and the Pro Controller was like that. Weird.

If there's a Scrub-league Super Metroid Heat I might be game for that.

I don't know if I'll get to do any Let's Racing this week. My internet's been knocked down to pre-upgrade crap levels like it was a few months ago, biggest suspect is a ginormous forest fire out west right where the fibreOP lines were put down. I don't have an answer from the ISP yet as to when it'll be resolved, hopefully in a day or two, but possibly longer. Bah.

Yeah, I'm out of Super Metroid for Wensday, but I'm going to go ahead and say I'm in for Mega Man on Sunday, need to learn 6 and tighten up my run of 5.

Well I was hoping to have the first heat of the Super Metroid race tomorrow, but it looks like the only peoples that would be ready for that time slot are Dadaph, Brickroad, and myself.

I wouldn't mind doing some Robot Master racing on Sunday.

Normally I'd say I have to be done early on Sunday evenings, but I have next Monday off because of CANADIAN PATRIOTISM, so I should be good whenevs.

(assuming my internets is working right again by then)
