I beat YI recently and would be down if it's not too late in the evening now that I have a 'real' job that forces me to be up early.

Sovan is now saying he has to push it back to about 7:30 EST. Is that still cool with you guys?

I already called him a mean name for changing his mind so don't worry about that part.

Yeah, I can do that, on the caveat I might have to forfeit winning by stopping to make dinner every once in a while depending on how late it runs.

Lufia 2 Ancient Cave race is up.

Man, things would have gone so much better if had known anything about how monsters and doors and adjacent rooms work in this game.

Yeah, more heats of this game needs to happen. That was a fun watch.

I forgot to adjust my volume back down because I'm stupid.

At least I didn't leave my mouse cursor in the window.

That Lufia race was great, especially with how intense the end was. I would love to see more races of that game.

No problem*! It was fun.

*Ok, slight problem. My audio for some reason is incredibly quiet. There's something I may be able to do to fix it but I won't be able to do it until next weekend at the earliest. Unless someone has any suggestions on how I can make audio on a video louder?

Send me what you have. I might be able to amplify it in avisynth when I process the race. It might not even be a problem.

You can also boost the volume in VirtualDub.

Wow yeah rogue, I can't hear you in this recording at all. Just like a low buzzing sound.

Yeah, I don't know why that happened since I did tests after that and without changing any settings I could hear myself absolutely fine in the tests. In the Yoshi's Island video I know I'm there but for some reason extraordinarily quiet. I'm going to try a couple more things.

Edit: I should mention the file I sent over was not the original one I had but the one I tried to fix in Virtual Dub.

Well whatever you try, I hope you're able to salvage something.

If I run noise reduction and crank the volume waaaay up I can barely make out Sovan's screechy voice over the game music. It almost sounds like your mic is picking up the muted sound from your headphones.

Keep us posted!

Mic problem? My previous mic was like that. One recording and it worked just fine. The next and I just got some quiet buzzing.
It won't save this recording, but try out another mic?

Well, it's a built-in mic on my laptop I've never had problems with before. I'm getting the parts to build a desktop some point this week and I need to buy a headset/mic.

The megaman Robot Master Megathon is currently rendering. I still have yet to add music, but I finally figured out avisynth, so that's pretty cool. I got a little ambitious and added in little robot icons for each robot master... Took a long time.
Admittedly though, the only reason it took so long to get this done was mostly me being lazy as balls, so I'm sorry!

Alright, processing the final version of the Megathon video right now. MAN, that was a lot more work than I was expecting. Expect it on youtube later today.

PS, can someone PM the log-in info for the youtube channel so I can upload this monster?

There will always be hitches in a race. Always. The nice thing with avisynth is that for every problem there's always a solution, and once you figure it out you've got scripts written to handle them should they arise.

Speaking of which, do backup your scripts. I learned this the hard way.

Also just an fyi if you didn't catch in the stream chat yesterday, if you're looking to cut down on final file size, I can't recommend encoding with xvid enough. Brick originally recommended it to me, and pound-for-pound it's the best quality for the best file size for the best price (free). For processing and editing passes I always encode with lagarith, which produces some pretty meaty file sizes, and seems to play nicer with vdub in my experience, but I always finish off a video with xvid. Your bandwidth will thank you!

Incidentally, I have a few days off after I get back from my trip this Wednesday to hopefully finish off Sonic 3 and get it uploading for everyone's viewing pleasure.
