I might very well have an hour or two to spare for racing times tomorrow if you and anyone else is interested, Nich. Barring any zany flight shenanigans I'll be settled back in at home by probably 8pm PST or so, and very possibly earlier.

Sunday might also be a possibility, but at this point I'm going to say jury's out.

I set Pentathlon #1 to upload last night before I went to bed, but the power flashed off at some point, so I have to redo it. THANKS, OBAMA.

In other news, I inexplicably collected the four Mario Land videos before the three Pentathlon #2 ones, so I guess I'll process that one next. (That one's not Obama's fault. The last pentathlon video I'm waiting on is Mike's, and he's Canadian.)

Oh hey, sorry about that. It's just that Obama has been here for the last few days, and he really wants to finish up our co-op run of Secret of Mana before he leaves, so I haven't had any time to upload the video.

Super Mario Land is up. I've gotten the processing time on these down to maybe 90 minutes of actual work, plus whatever rendering time.

This was supposed to be a short, quick race, but SOMEONE was terrible, and so I had to play Kwirk for over an hour. THANKS A LOT

Next time you race, Destil, check your framerate. Your pentathlon video and SML video were both at 10 fps.

I wonder. Raced Mega Man 1 yet? It got unlimited continues, so can't be THAT bad?

Think I may have fixed my recording now, just need to do a few tests. Unfortunately, I'm going away next weekend, so can't join for anything then.

Took a swing at the Pentathlon with the file Brick sent me on Thursday night. Started at 7:15 PM and...



Small write up about my experience under spoilers for those who haven't watched the video and wanna be surprised by the challenges -

That was right when the minute turned over, so 55 minutes, give or take a couple seconds. Mario 3 was probably the one that gave me the biggest trouble with either Dragon Warrior or Mega Man 2 giving me the least. I know! I was shocked too. Quick Man took me two tries, and the first was where I realized I could probably trick his pattern into getting him stuck in the corner - hypothesis tested & confirmed. Metroid was a pain, and Zelda took about 4 tries, with the 4th just spent playing very carefully while constantly pausing and planning my route. Didn't need to grind to get blue armor or the potion. Finally, I banged my head against the wall on Mario 3 for nearly a half hour until I realized my problem - Level 3 of World 6 is nearly impossible to time right because the goal square activates off screen while you're mid jump from the paratroopa. So I reloaded the save, cleared the dungeon and skipped Level 3 in favor of 4. Got three stars and moved on from there.

Part of the challenge in these Pentathlon and Races is the interaction with the other players and trying to talk while playing. ^_^
