I can't do any races on Tuesdays or Thursdays (indefinitely, save for the occasional week, since they're our raid nights and it'll stay that way until we clear the current tier in WoW). Not positive yet if I can make this Saturday either, but I'm fine with passing on this one entirely if it comes to that. Allstars 2: Electric Boogaloo is the one I really want to race.

I am fine with doing a race this Sunday and next Sunday. Once a week seems like a good pace anyway.
Okay, to help peoples out (mainly me XD) I made a Google Calendar with Races and Times, and people who can make it in the descriptions of the events. You can find that here. Last edited by Narishm; 01-09-2014 at 12:13 PM. |

Well, it looks like the latest I would be able to manage to get out is 5:00 in the afternoon MTN, which is about 7:00 EST. That's way too late compared to what you have scheduled, so I'll have to bow out of this one.
Good luck and be sure to practice Narishm guys! |

Sunday, yes? I'm good with Saturday as well by the way, or most days. |

7pm EST on Sunday is on the late-side for me, but I could still start then as long as we don't go much beyond two hours.

Sorry about all this, guys. My schedule usually isn't this awful (at least, not during a school break). If scheduling is tough, I really don't mind sitting this one out.
I'll try to get done and show up as early as I can Sunday so we can get started quickly. |

I feel bad but I'm in the exact opposite boat as Din... the later we start Sunday, the tighter my timeframe gets.

Don't worry about it! From the sounds of it, it looks like earlier is going to be easier on people anyway (that's kinda why I was borderline with that post before, too), and I won't feel bad about keeping people up later, especially with it leading into the first day of the work week.

Yeah, unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to bump the time earlier by a couple of hours. It sux though cause I hate having to tell ya you can't come race with us, but this is actually a re-race and I don't think it would be fair to bump one of the original racers because of a time issue, especially since it was me that lost the footage in the first place.
No worries though, because there is no reason we can't just do the race again with different peeps. If someone went through the trouble of hosting an alternate All-Stars Race I would even do the leg work on rendering it. |

Yeah, it's all good. With how horrible my schedule was this weekend, I wasn't really expecting that it'd work out too well anyway. There'll be other weekends, and the races are consistent enough that I swear I'll get in on one of these without it turning into a fiasco like this one.
I'm really looking forward to watching this when it's ready, though! |

So, for the All-Stars Race, we are going to push the time back to around 4 or 5pm EST so that Red Silvers can participate. Is that still good for everyone else?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to bail on the All-Stars race. The wife is working from home on Sunday and I can't exactly be screaming on a microphone in the office next to her
Maybe I'll organize another heat later on with anyone else who misses this one. |

I'd be up for it, McClain!

EDIT: Scratch all that. I should be fine if we start at 5pm.

Pushing it to 6 shouldn't be a problem. However 5 is good too, there will probably be a little set up time first though. I am going to be watching AGDQ and practicing all day today. XD |

I'm ready at whenever tonight, between 3 and 11 est at least(any later than that and I'm probably sleeping). Just poke me in good time before we start, so I can set up for recording.
Just hope I can get in a practice run or two, I don't care if I win(again), but I just don't want to be the guy stuck in SMB this time. |

well it's a good thing I bailed since I can't see out of one eye now! ...
My schedule it about to get a whole lot more wonky, but in a couple weeks once I get a handle on it I'll try and see if I can get another heat of SMB All-Stars together. |

I'm going to have to sit out tonight afterall, I just can't make it. Mostly technical issues on my end, somehow my PC apparently forgot all the settings I had pre-made from whenever the last time I recorded a race and for the life of me I can't get it recording properly anymore. There's no way I'm making any progress in a couple of hours.
Also it's not recognizing my PS3 controller anymore, again I don't know why, and there's no chance in hell I'm doing a race on a keyboard. |

Tried OBS? Worked like a dream for me, and it's easy to set up(though a little screwy about getting the emulator windows properly for some reason).
Probably no time for a proper 2-hour test recording first though... I want to race today. Did a fine 1-life practice run of SMB, so I have a good feeling on my part. However, I'm okay with postponing too. I think we should get the original racers together, if they all want to. Not to "recreate the magic" or anything like that, but to not exclude any of those who thought the last one was fun, not wanting to be left out. If Narishm can hardly talk, then more reason to postpone. He's a good commentator, and as one who hardly speaks at all, I would hate to lose any of those :P Just let us know in good time. I'll stay on Skype and keep my eye on this thread. |

Yo, tech question for folks a little more well-versed in Audacity than I am. I want to weed out a lot of unwanted bits of sound that my mic picked up (inhaling, supressed coughing, ect.) Is there an easy way to do this besides going through the audio bit by bit and silencing it? It isn't a hassle necessarily, just kind of time-consuming.

If the disruptions are loud, one thing you might be able to try is normalizing it. It won't do you much good if the disruptions are relatively quiet, but if they're loud, normalize will equalize the volume for you. The unwanted bits will be there, but I'll bet they wouldn't be nearly as intrusive due to everything being at the same general level of volume (and if all else fails, the undo button comes in good handy).
If you're looking to trim out all the specific disruptions, though, you might have to tackle it manually. I'm by no means an Audacity expert, though. Other people might know better than I do. |

Sorry I couldn't make it. After my laptop gave me trouble I just kinda gave up and went about getting dinner, and then I had to go dig my car out (we got like three feet of snow yesterday) and after that I just wasn't in the mood to struggle with an uncooperative machine.
I'll see if I can straighten out these computer issues this week. I've been thinking I need to get a new laptop sometime this year, maybe this'll hurry it along. (though every laptop I can find at stores like Best Buy and Future Shop all have Windows fucking 8 on them) |
