In fairness I was totally going to google it before asking.

Man, I gotta admit I'm curious to see how what you can do with the Mega Man footage, Torgo.

I know we have a lot of folks who race Thursday earlier in the day.
Just curious if a Wednesday at similar times would be good for people? |

Wednesdays are typically a total no-go for me. Tomorrow Wednesday, however, is a different story. I'd be available pretty much any time after 7pm Pacific.

I'm still waiting on Sovan's Disney footage, argleblargle.
Mike, can you do a Friday night race of Bionic Commando? I'm sure starting at or after 9pm won't be a problem, and would love to get you in a race. I'm warning you though, Dan and I have clocked ourselves at about 25 minutes. This won't be a race for the faint of heart. |

Lord almighty, 25 minutes? You two could finish the game three times before I was done, I think. |

Next Friday is good for me. (I think Dan is at PAX, too.)
I'll use the time to practice the Area 10 spike tunnel. I watched the AGDQ run this week and the guy goes through it without using the moving platform. Double boss. |

Sounds like I'm going to need a training montage.

Anti-fuuuuun.
But no seriously even if you don't run the whole game beforehand, even a quick hour refreshing yourself on mechanics can be a huge boon. I don't mind being the dude that sucks and drops out, but after doing Mega Man 2 I honestly recommend it if you can make the time. Speaking of, I have all the surviving MM2 footage. I'm going to try to start cobbling it together probably tomorrow or Saturday. Brick, when you pull a video using keepvid, what format do you take, and what do you use to play it? .mp4 is the only format I recognize, and even then I don't have any appropriate codec to play it, much less getting it to cooperate with Virtualdub. |

I grab them as mp4, since that's the quickest download. I honestly don't know what codec I use to play it back, though. I have so many codecs from years of blind experimentation that I hardly have compatibility issues anymore.
narcodis turned me on to Format Factory, which can convert anything to anything. I haven't been able to get VirtualDub to accept mp4 either, but converting to avi first does the trick. |

MP4 is generally Quicktime, as it's an Apple format.

I vote you make a slot for Umby that says "Umby lost his video, and that's why there's no sound." before replacing it with the Duck Hunt Dog :P

Re: Lets racing time
Two of my GDC volunteer buddies randomly complimented us on our Aladdin race. I figured I should let you guys know.

Umby told me last night that his race footage wasn't lost, so we at least have everyone's video, even without audio.

Hello Peoples! I like just met Red Silvers after posting a comment on the Disney Race video, then stuff, now I'm here. ^_^
So then, I'm Narishm and I make video LPs for Youtube. Yup, and I just read this thread, (also like 3 others) and wanted to introduce myself. I didn't see a place to do that (maybe I missed it?) so since this is the most relevant thread I figured I'd do it here. I'm aiming to throw my hat in with your races and whatnot if you need an additional person! Last edited by Narishm; 03-25-2013 at 02:41 AM. Reason: Grammar and not wanting to make a second post. |

In what way? I have issues with the sound card on my laptop which I use for Skype often, so I had to move back over to my desktop. I think I mention that in the audio...

Well maybe you were.
Er. I mean. Since I had 2 audio files, I had to do some time jiggering to sync things up myself. Apparently I was a slight bit off. |

Unfortunately I didn't notice Umbaglo was off until I had already mixed the audio streams, otherwise I'd have fixed it on my end. Hopefully it wasn't too distracting.
But yeah, that race was a blast. I especially liked how everyone got stuck at at least one spot that nobody else got stuck at. |

Watching the race makes me doubly-sad I didn't get in, because... I'd like to think I wouldn't have game overed in Rescue Rangers or DuckTales.

It seems like the LP curse is hitting a lot of these guys. If you've never done live game play while attempting to talk simultaneously, you usually don't realize how much of an impact your gaming ability suffers. ^_^

|

How does the curse apply to Umbaglo, who only thought he was talking to people, but was actually talking to himself?
|
#447
|
|||
|

Surely I can't be the only one who's recorded an entire episode of something and forgot to actually record anything. XD
I dunno, best I got. ^_^ |

I still think the worst the LP curse has done to me is the game losing my save file THREE DIFFERENT TIMES.
In a game where everything was randomized. ARGH. |

You know, thinking back I'm not sure if I've ever beaten Rescue Rangers on NES. o.O

Mike, are you free next Thursday (4/4) or Friday (4/5) for Bionic Commando?
