So, it's getting a little late... racing would be possible, but Torgo and I would be cutting it kinda close, timewise.

Maybe we can try again for sometime Fri-Sun?

I have a friend who might be interested in joining in the event we need to fill a space.

EDIT: Current idea to to try for Saturday at some point.

Still rendering... 89%. The Disney race ran out to three hours because nobody practiced like I told them.

I can do tomorrow night or during the day Saturday.

Phew, wow. Premiere sure hates processing video at this resolution. Eventually ended up using Premiere to properly time my audio and output that, and then used Nandub to replace the audio on the video.

And I don't think Fraps liked it either. For most of the video, the FPS counter was rendered into the recording, probably because of the way the emulator was handling the output.

I'm just testing a different processing now, but I should have my video side uploaded and ready to send you later tonight, Brick.

What size did the videos need to be shrunk down to again?

The Rockin' Cats race was pretty hard to follow because it was so completely non-linear. I couldn't look at anyone's screen and draw any meaningful information about who was in the lead or by how much.

One thing SA does in its Mega Man races is have a small line of all the Robot Master portraits by each player's screen, and they X or darken them as they beat them. Helps the viewer keep track of where each individual player is.

Hmmm, I wonder if our processing dudes can do something like that. Even if it were more simplified to a "boss counter" and a number that could work. I'd love to see some Mega Man races. Hey, even the forthcoming disney afternoon has Ducktails, but it's pretty short.

In theory I don't see inserting some markers to indicate bosses defeated as being too tough to implement. A little time-consuming at worst, but not necessarily difficult.

Then you're possibly in luck. Mega Man 2 is what's tentatively on the slate tomorrow.

If you're looking for someone else to race MM2, I could maybe participate, depending on what time you want to do it. Late works best for me, like 9 PM EST. Don't worry about it if that doesn't fit the plan, though.

I would totally be down for getting in on Mega Man 2 if I weren't running a D&D game tomorrow. If there's interest in a second run I'm game.

Hammering out a time would be ideal. I'm good any time, but I've been tapped to help with a little yard work tomorrow morning. I haven't committed yet on account of racing times, but it would start at 8am (11am PST and 2pm EST) and goes into the afternoon, but I should be able to bail at any time if we want to start at some point after that.

Tenatively availible at the same time, 10 Eastern (8 Mountain)

So interested parties I have so far are:
Red Silvers
Torgo
Brickroad
MCBanjoMike
and possibly Destil?

Also possibly my buddy ShadowWarriorLuke can fill in a slot if needed.

I work Saturday night, so I won't be around to race. I'll still be happy to produce the video, if Torgo doesn't want to do it.

If he does, Red, you can just shoot him the login for the YouTube channel and he can upload the result whenever.

How hard would it be to do 5 or 6 people in a race with the same setup?

Yeah, there's no way I can race Saturday since I'll be running D&D all day. Have fun stormin' the (skull) castle!

If you want to start earlier so Brick can play, that's fine. I won't know if I'm free for sure until pretty late, so I don't want anyone to make plans around me.

Yard work got cancelled because of weather. I'm probably just gonna hang out at home today, so I'm good to go any time.

So, ShadowWarriorLuke and I are on, and good to race.

Who else is up?

Torgo, now, too!

My man Dan wants to race Bionic Commando. He is really, really good at Bionic Commando.

Are there any among you who are up to the challenge?

So, is it just a thing that someone will always not finish the game, either from dropping out or from HAXORS?

Also, that LPer curse.

Sorry I couldn't make it last night, my son is sick and the room where I play is right next to his bedroom, so I was afraid I would wake him up if I started Skyping with you guys late at night. He's feeling better today, so hopefully I'll be able to join you all eventually. I also realized I hadn't stress-tested my recording setup, so I'm going to try that now by recording for 2 hours to see if my computer and recording software can handle it.

I love Bionic Commando and would be happy to have my ass handed to me in a race, if I'm free when you want to do it. Again, my schedule is pretty limited, I more or less have to start at 9 PM to play, so don't plan around me. But if things work out, great!

It would be hilarious if one of us, when racing Bionic Commando, was playing BC Rearmed. I could shoulder that responsibility.

Pretty severe handicap, mind you, with all the extra levels and hacking minigames. I guess you wouldn't need to farm continues, at least.

I imagine the goal of the race is "First dude to make Hitler's head explode", so a lot of the optional things might be able to be avoided, right?

I would totally do Bionic Commando. I am impressively ok at the game. I would have to practice a bit.

No worries! Family comes first. Glad to hear he's feeling better. Umby joined us at the final hour, rounding out the group, and I think we're definitely going to be running Mega Man 2 again in the future.

If you're gonna run a stress test, I might also recommend running a Skype voice chat while recording as well if you can manage. That final layer while recording and playing gave me some slow down last night. Nothing ruinous, mind, but more noticeable then anything I'd tested previously.

Gang: Shoot me a pm whenever you get your stuff uploaded somewhere where I can get it.

I would include escaping from the exploding base, since I'm a purist, but even so you have that whole extra set of Albatross levels to deal with, plus the much longer boss fight. Still, if you know the game well and take the critical path, you'd probably beat me, since I tend to forget which levels are essential and meander a bit when I play.
