You guys, anyone can post a youtube video on here now.
You're welcome. |

Here though, there's the same problem as the link on page 4, where it's getting all buried as soon as there's a new page here. |

So I'm thinking of getting a capture card for my Wii so I can participate in some of these better, what would you guys suggest?

For the stuff I do, I use a Happauge HD PVR. It's pricey, but it does everything I need, in one easy to use box.

I would recommend either a Happauge HD PVR or a Black Magic Intensity. These two seem to get the highest ratings with peoples I know that use them. However I have no personal experience with the BM Intensity.

Anyone know about the Roxio Game Capture HD PRO? I can get one for around $50 dollars, it normally runs for $150.

I use a Vulkano for all my console recording. The only thing I don't like about it is that it does HDMI out, but not HDMI in.
The important thing to remember about console capturing is that you want an external box, not an internal card. Internal cards have significant lag because they process the video before displaying it, while external boxes have a through-pass port, so the video gets split off to be processed by the box or your computer, while the lag-free video carries over to your TV. |

Took a few days off, but I'm going to try and finish Mario 2 today.
For all you guys that have cut in desync frames, how did you guys do it? I have an idea to Frankenstein a solution in avisynth with Trim and ImageSource, but I'm getting an "no audio" error. Any ideas or solutions? Barring anything else, I'll just make a "silent" video clip of the needed length and cut that in. |

By the way, the MMX race was fantastic. Seriously, all four of us were on our A-game the entire time. It's going to be hysterical.
The phrase "nazi hole" got used at one point. This might be what you have to do. Fortunately it's pretty easy in avisynth. |

I am not racing 'blind' anymore...

Good news, Torgo, Redsilvers, and Dadaph! The render completed successfully!
I am in the process of uploading it to my channel in seekrit. Whenever you guys are ready, possibly this weekend, we can record commentary. |

I'm ready whenever the rest are. Sunday and next week could be difficult for me though, so I prefer to get it done soon, Friday or Saturday maybe?

Amongst other things, Nari plugged the Let's Racing Time channel.

Sunday is busy, from Monday through Wednesday I'm not home, and Thursday through next Saturday, I have an impossibly tight schedule. So if it's possible, grab me before this Sunday. |

Saturday morning/afternoon should be doable for me.

Saturday it is, then.

Sounds great.
Will it be possible to get the video in advance? I trust my network, but my Youtube usually gets stuck buffering long videos at one point or another. If I can download it off Youtube, that won't be a problem during the recording. |

So then, I am looking to start up another race! Either tomorrow or saturday, the game... Super Mario World. Would anyone be available or interested? o.O

Saturday for MMX is fine for me.

Sign me up. I'm good for Friday evenings and any time Saturdays.

When will you know which night it will be? I want to hit a movie either tonight or tomorrow, and I figure I'll go whichever night we're not racing.
(unless it's Saturday afternoon at which point whatevs) |

I'm not sure yet, I am still waiting to hear back from Raocow about when he is free (he works today and tomorrow). So right now the only definite ones are me and you, because Red and the first MMX crew are having to do pick-ups tomorrow.

I can do Mario World tonight, provided I don't have to process the footage. (I'm finishing up Pentathlon #2 and then tucking into Mega Man X.)

So does an SMW race boil down to everyone running directly for the Star Road to get to the final stage early?
|
#1138
|
|||
|
|||
No, as per usual, the Star Road would be off-limits. Unless you would like to die... a most painful death... (i.e. starving in a village)
And I can do the processing of the footage. ^_^ It shouldn't be that hard to throw All-Stars and World side by side. What time this evening would be good for you Brick? |
#1139
|
|||
|
|||
Yeah I was figuring a SMW run would be 'warpless', ie: No Star Roads at all, but no need to complete every stage along the way.
I think I'ma pass on going to a movie until Sunday night so just lemme know whatever time we're doing this. |

I'm curious how the hell long playing SMW to completion will take. I've never not done every level so I have no idea what an optimal path would be like.
