This weekend is impossible for me. And I'm not sure when I'll be available again. Next week MIGHT work, but I really have no idea when, and if/if not. After that, I'll probably be out and semi-offline for weeks, as I'll be moving pretty far. I might be able to squeeze in a night now and then, but not anything I can plan ahead.
So if not racing this Wednesday, or some time next week, if I'm at all able to, I'm afraid I'm out. Which is kinda sad(for me at least), as I've been practicing for this and really been wanting to at least race Narishm.

Sunday is good for me too, and you just said what I need to do as well to practice. Thank god I have 1-6 on my 3DS.

Wait, when did 6 come out? The only reason I haven't put in the time yet is I was waiting on the VC release.

Man, I can do this during my lunch.

I really want in on the Mega Man race. Sunday's tough for me but I might be able to make it happen. What time?

I'm free pretty much all day Sunday, so if anyone has time restrictions, we should go by that.

As far as a lineup goes, here's what I have so far:
Narcodis
Destil
Rogue
SpoonybardOL
Loki

Am I forgetting anyone?

I'd like to be done by 4PM MST (GMT-7), but it's not a hard requirement. I believe someone suggested starting at 11 AM Pacific?

That time should be good for me.

Haven't gotten around to getting MM6 on the 3DS yet, so I might just have to go into that one blind(ish).

Hmm, well I suppose tomorrow night for Super Metroid might be off, apart from Dadaph and myself there doesn't seem to be anyone else interested.

SO, uh, I forgot about a family thing, and sunday MIGHT not be possible for me. It's not 100%, but it's likely I won't be able to make it after all.

God, I'm so bad at scheduling. Would monday be okay with anyone?? If not, I understand if you guys just wanna do the race on sunday without me.

I generally work late Mondays, so not unless you want to start after 8PMish Pacific.

Sunday's not going to work for me day or evening, but I'd really like to do the mega man race. Maybe two groups?

Hey, what if we split up the robot master race into two different races? My biggest concern is that this race is gonna take like four hours if we try to sit and do it all at once, and that kind of makes it hard to schedule for some people (ie myself). And just to split the times evenly, because I'm assuming everyone is like me and knows 1-3 a lot better than they know 4-6, do 1, 3 and 5 in one race, and 2, 4 and 6 in another race (which could be completely wrong, but just throwin' it out there). What does everyone think?

ALSO, is Tuesday an okay night for everyone? Since Sunday sounds like a bit of a bust...

Sunday was un-doable for me, but I think I could throw down for this on Tuesday, unless that's the day the everyone is free for SM.

Hey, I'm not exactly able to do races here (zero knowledge of video software and an internet speed that would make molasses proud of itself), but I know a game that you guys could race.

The SNES version of Spanky's Quest.

It's quite a fun game, and I'd be willing to bet that almost no one here's played it before, so it'd probably be fun to see a few of you try to race it completely blind. (And I do mean completely, as in knowing nothing about the game except the Wiki page I linked and whatever you can glean off of wherever you download the ROM from.)

Maybe in a few months I'll get a good enough internet to try racing (even though I can't speedrun at all).

This could be an interesting blind race, provided enough of the peeps are like me and never heard of it. XD

But how long is the game?

Rockin' Kats was five levels and it was crazy long for the blind peeps.

It has 50 levels...

5 worlds, 10 levels a piece. Seems a bit much, unless the levels are really short and breezy, like a Mario game.

It being a blind run kind of eliminates much chance of it being breezy though.

You know what would make for an interesting race, assuming nobody was going in blind? Umihara Kawase. Branching level paths, crazy physics, and a built-in time limit.

I think Blind Races might be a really fun idea, but can't think of any games easy enough for most people to pick up and get through in an hour or two. Besides some Disney games or maybe Kirby, but who haven't played those?

So here's an alternative: set a time limit, like, say, 1 or 2 hours, and see who can get the furthest. Shorter time might be good, as seeing all 4 guys stumble with the same thing for more than an hour, might get old quickly.

That way, it might be possible to do crazy hard games, like Battletoads.
Of course, once a player reaches a certain level, that level should count towards the victory, even if the player dies and have to start all over, if the game doesn't have unlimited continues.

I really liked the idea of an endurance race, myself.

I can possibly fudge things around for Tuesday, but Sunday morning in general was really good for me. What about next Sunday?

Only now do I realize that Let's Racing Time is a very focused Video & Arcade Top 10 revival.

Start giving away (awful) prizes and reading fan mail. And see if you can hire Nicholas Picholas as a host.

I could make Sunday evenings work (but not this Sunday), but Sunday days, or any day really, are really hard. I work nights and I can't really justify pulling a 36 hour day just to play video games.

If I'm not mistaken, there are ways to skip levels, but I don't remember that for sure or not. And each level is generally short, even to new players. Well, for the first world, anyway.

Dadaph's idea could work too, seeing how far you can get in X amount of time.

But really, I just want to see how you guys react to a monkey named Spanky. :P

Dunno if you still considered me a racer for the MM race, but I'll have to bow out. My internet has been gone/unreliable for the past few days as the forest fire out west fried fibreOP lines.

I'm kinda bummed since I really wanted in this one, but if you got enough racers then go for it. Maybe there'll be a second heat for it.

Rogue and I were the only ones still up for it, so I called it. Better to have 3-4 people for a race.

How's that same time slot this coming Sunday look for people?
