Dear Destil: I still don't have your footage from the MM Robot Master race. I got the wrong torrent file or something, because it says the size of the file is 327kb.

It is done. Please to be enjoying. It seems someone else went in and imported the info and tags from last night's aborted upload and labeled it private so it could upload in peace. Whoever did, thanks!

You guys are much more rigorous about tracking your Tetris failures than I was.

EDIT: What? He moved Punch Out to the end? I assumed he moved Ninja Gadien.

I don't know whether my favorite part is Umby turning off his NEXT indicator or McClain failing to equip his THEIF's Rapier.

Actually they are both my favorite part.

I'm disappointed in all of you.

When I die, only Brickroad is getting any of my Tetris Gold.

Yeah, I hadn't touched the NES version of FF1 in about 20 years, so the archaic menu systems were kind of fucking me up. Though my favorite part is probably when I forgot the "oranges."

My favorite part during the race was trolling Umby with what game we were playing.

"Fucking Igor!"

pahahahahah

yeah watching you guys screw with me is pretty funny

And even watching the video again I didn't even catch I turned "NEXT" off, Brickroad. Not that it would have helped me, I'm terrible at Tetris.

I didn't realize before now just how much hilarity I likely missed not being able to hear Umby's audio in the earlier Mega Man 2 race.

So hey, I know there's some of you guys out there that wanted to run a race that haven't yet, so a couple quick questions:

1. Are you still interested?
2. What are you comfortable playing (generally or specifically?)
3. How comfortable are you running something that you might not be as familiar with?

My existence is validated! I'm funny!

On a related note, I'd love to do another race soon. Thanks for putting in the work on the video, Torgo, it's great!

In retrospect I think McClain hit the perfect party there, Red Mages are better than fighters for that challenge. There's no figher only gear in chests and grinding up to the point where you get 2 attacks isn't nessessary.

(I did Rdm/Blm/Blm/Thf, for what it's worth)

Fighters soak more damage, so I'm not sure that Red Mages are any better for that challenge unless you are going to take three of them for the style points. Buying cure is way more expensive than just buying a bunch of heals, and I probably should have given them fire anyhow. Oh well!

No they don't. At that point in the game Chain Armor is worth any number of HPs. Red Mages and Fighters are functionally identical for purposes of that challenge.

But I threw everyone off with my clever red herring about not using fighters! Which is totally something I did on purpose! Ha ha!

Next time I try playing Punch Out on an emulator, I'm making the screen size bigger.

That flashing dot on Tiger's turban was impossible to see.

Reds can pull out LIT, though fighters shouldn't miss much anyway.

EDIT: Hah, McClain walking back from the Temple of Fiends.

Irrelevant, since you should be RUNning from everything.
