So, if Bungie changes the subject of this game to Pimps at Sky, they've made a FF2 HD Remake? |

You should see how many times they restarted RE4. (well worth it.)

That is actually a pretty hilarious philosophy.

Hmm... I usually just do my own thing and make it through every game I play with out TOO much of a hassle (Or grinding for that matter). I have not played the DS version of IV though.

FF4DS doesn't require grinding, but that philosophy is pretty much true after about Octomammon. There's really no other good explanation for Cagnazzo absorbing lightning.

Phew! finally more or less finished my own damn LP, so I can feel safe enough to show my head on this forum again! I wonder what they're talking about in that ol' codger Brickroad's thread?

You know, Edge is actually pretty good in FFIVDS. Pin Shadowbind is very good since random encounters pretty much require crowd control in the end-game and his high speed makes it likely to go off first (while Rydia has a 50/50 chance of being one-shot before she can get off stop). The Long Range augment is really good for him, too (way better than the Sneak Steal command) and easy to get on your first run.

I get what they were trying to do with FF4DS; I really do. People were bitching already by FF4A that every remake and/or port of the game was just the same game they played back in 1991. They wanted to mix things up and give players a fresh challenge. The problem is, their methodology was of the stupidest sort. They should have identified the weak points of the system, improved or eliminated them, and introduced new and intuitive gameplay elements to spice things up. Instead they opted for a refuge in obscurity (whatever worked before doesn't now, whatever was pointless before is now the best bet) and set out to effectively piss off anyone who had played the original game (as well as anyone who thinks logically; there wasn't a lot of counterintuitiveness to how FF4's battles worked to begin with).
TL;DR: FF4DS made "doing it wrong" the only sane solution. |

For two reasons!
(But no seriously the game wasn't that hard. Or bad.) |

NO UPDATE YET! HA HA HA MADE YOU LOOK.
No, I'm just dropping in to inform you of my commitment to this LP, and the deep affection I have for each and every one of you. To prove that commitment and affection, I have taken upon myself the ultimate torture. That's right. I'm hunting PinkPuffs for you bastards. Legit-like. LINE UP AND APPRECIATE ME. |

You... you don't have to.
You REALLY don't have to. I mean, for godssake crank up the emulator speed or something. |

He really has gone snooker-loopy if he plans to manually grind out even one Pink Tail the proper way. He's gone blongie round the clonger if he's planning to get five. I did that once on the GBA version, where it's infinitely easier since you have Alarms to force the encounter, and it was *STILL* way too long and tedious.
Plug in that Action Replay code that ensures item drops. Nobody will call you on it unless they're severely sadistic. |

(and yes, just make sure to toss the other five pink tails in the trash can to cover it up.) |

To be that legit you'd have to hire actors to recreate the scene of you and your mom in 1992, with her ordering you to go outside to play while she hides the SNES in the attic.

Turbo speed or not, I will still consider it a legitimate experience as long as it ends with 1) Brickroad giving up or 2) Brickroad succeeding only after a monumentally regrettable length of time.

You give it to the mini guy who loves tails to get a chunk of awesomeantium* and someone makes you the best armor in the game that anyone can wear.
But the enemy that drops it 1/64 of the time only has a 1/64 chance of even showing up on the moon. And to make matters even stupider, they added drops to it for the DS release. *I'm not actually clear on if you get it directly from the Adamant island dude or get a thing to take to the blacksmith in the underground or what. |

In other versions, you can use a consumable item called an "Alarm" to reliably enter a battle with them. That doesn't actually ensure that you have any chance at beating them. If you go into the battle unprepared, there is a very good chance that you will lose.
