Ah, yes, for me that was just about everything in Spyro. For a game that makes you explore every nook and cranny, it sure has a lot of inaccessible nooks and crannies.

Well, she might have been emotionally stunted from spending most of her formative years in the Land of Summons...

Ok, everyone! This place isn't like any cave we've seen before. Be sure to stay on guard!

I can take anything that comes our way!

Just be careful! Who knows what could be around that next corner.

Watch out! Monsters!

I can handle this!

Oh yeah! What do you think about that, babe?

Gag me with a spoon!

Heh. Smooth as ever, Edge.

Edge! You were too slow. Look what they did to me!!!

Heal!

Thanks, Rosa!

If this is all the cave has to throw at us this place will be a piece of cake!

So how deep is this cave anyway?

Edge! Watch out!

More monsters coming!

I...can't...go on....

White magic was never intended to handle this.

I've never seen a magical beast so strong...

*blurghle*

This...is it. I'm so sorry everyone...

To be continued....?
Geez, I spent an embarrassingly long time shopping all these photos together...

Beautiful.

On the subject of the hypothetical treasure chest game, I could see it working as a semi-metroidvania where chests contained either gold, doodads with which to decorate your treasure room, or items used to obtain more treasure chests.

Also, one of the chests is in the treasure room, but you need to pile your gold high enough to reach it first. Like that one level in Sonic Adventure 1.

Interesting but I've actually came up with some ideas. That wasn't on the list.

Now do a version with just Cecil turning into a frog and back again.
Endlessly.

It's nuts how at the end of the game Rydia can do more damage with her fists than Cecil could with his sword at the beginning of the game. Earlier in the thread, when we were talking about how FF2 could be made into a movie, I was quietly wondering how they could work that in. Does the ending show Rydia in a boxing gym, busting a punching bag off its rope, then Nick Fury comes in and says it's time for The After Years?

Locked up in the final dungeon are superweapons for every character. Edge, of course, has two, and they are both swords. So "strongest Edge" is always on the front line. If, however, one were a sword and one were a boomerang, then there would be two versions of "strongest Edge"; one with the best sword and the second best sword on the front line, and one with the best boomerang and the FullMoon on the back line. Or you could switch, or mix-and-match, depending on what you wanted to use him for.
How good is Edge with a bow and arrow?
Quote:
The Avenger... Cecil... becomes permanently Bersk'd... For tricky fights and boss battles, though, you may need him to spot heal or issue out Life potions. Since you can't access a Bersk'd character's command window, there's no way to replace the sword mid-fight, either.
Ain't it a blast when he knocks out the wrong enemy in a multi-target boss fight?

I know a real life Cat Lady who owns about two dozen cats, but they're real cats, not people she turned into cats. Now, are these toads people she turned into toads? Can you un-toad them so they turn back into Dwarves or whatever?

You know, when I first played this game I always assumed Cid was a dwarf, and then you find out dwarves are a thing in this universe so I'm like "Oh this is gonna be where we get some Cid backstory!" or something.

But no, it turns out Cid is just a regular guy who is better than the dwarves at machines and beards.

Just a hunch, but since these Toads don't have toad as an ailment, maybe its easier to turn them into pigs than into double toads?

I see no reason why they wouldn't. They're just separate sprites/enemies.

Transformations by game:
2: Frog, Mini (reflavored death spells when used on enemies)
3: Frog, Mini
4: Frog, Pig, Mini
5: Frog, Mini
6: Imp
7: Frog, Mini
T: Frog, Chicken
8: boring
9: Frog, Mini

Recent entries, along with 8, have been too good for transformation effects. Pig holds the distinction of being both the silliest and most redundant status effect in the series.

And finally, if Edward is a frog, he will only sing Toadsong. You could make a case that Edward is actually more useful as a frog, but that is needlessly cruel.
