The game's just hard to clear in general without a shitload of grinding.
Actually, the low Karma route probably makes things harder, as you'll want to avoid battles to keep your HP up. As such, completing the Library and getting money will be a total pain in the ass. Especially considering what you have to do to get some of the darkness aligned chips. Of course the obvious answer is to not use Dark Chips that often, but believe me when I say that the game's a lot more difficult without Full Synchro shenanigans or Dark Chip abuse. |

With that said, Chaos Unison was also pretty bad. Even if you abused the pause screen, the Dark Chips generally weren't powerful enough to be of much help unless you were hitting an elemental weakness. The fact that the designers seemed to take Chaos Unison's theoretically infinite damage as a justification to pump up the true form of the final boss' HP to absurd amounts was not appreciated either. This thread made me watch a few episodes of Rockman Exe.
Is there any thing that Blue Moon is better at than Red Sun? |

I actually liked the anime (shocker), and I prefer the 4th game and up seasons, even if they turned dark chips into cocaine (which I suppose is kinda similar to what the games did, but I dunno, it never struck me as such until I watched the anime). Too bad a lot of the episodes of Stream are untranslated sadface.
EDIT Didn't Blue Moon have Proto Man and Roll Soul? |

Roll Soul is Red Sun exclusive.
In my personal opinion, Red Sun is far superior to Blue Moon in pretty much every way, though I admit I might be biased since while I own both I've played through Red Sun more. Anyways, the only thing Blue Moon has better is... um... they get the Protoman series? EDIT: Now that my essay’s finally complete, I can get back to work on this. The bell rings. Haruka asks Lan to open the door. Surprised, Lan tells the man to wait a second. Wait, so the door is there? Why did Lan asks who was there from the mat? Lan asks what exactly he just got. So in order to determine the participants for a National Net Battling tournament, you’re testing their ability to find things? This prelim seems biased towards Navis with high speed or advanced data processing abilities. In fact, one of Red Sun’s scenarios lampshades how stupid this criteria is. The man continues that Battle Points have been scattered all over the real world and the cyber world. This seems like something that could very easily cause violence. This is actually the third time in a row the game is repeating this. You already are. There are a total of 62 66 Points you can collect. I’ll start with the ones in the real world. |

I really have to wonder how these Points were put here without anyone‘s knowledge. So what was the criteria for entering the Hawk prelims anyways? Did you just have to have a Navi? A bunch of NPCs are confused about the whole thing too. You’d think a National Tournament would be more publicized. Then again, the lack of publicity might have been how the people in charge intended to avoid riots over Points. But then instead of riots there would probably be people calling the police to arrest people on charges of vandalism or thievery. Actually, I wonder if it was even legal for Lan to enter his friends' houses and take the Points he found. |

Inside this newly accessible lock is an Unlocker. I think this is the first capitalization error I’ve seen. The “fairy” wonders how he can prove himself. |

This kid was trying to enjoy the ride’s atmosphere, but he keeps getting interrupted by people asking for Points. He doesn’t seem to be part of tournament staff, so I guess that means participants are just harassing everyone they see for Points. Anyways, that’s it for the real world Points. The other 33 Points can only be obtained by Megaman. The navi adds that if he wins, Megaman will be deleted. What? Anyways, cue easy three round battle. |

Alright, off to the Net.
This guy completely freaks out at being discovered, despite the fact that from Megaman’s perspective he’s just standing on the side of a road. |

Cannon C can be bought for 2000 Z at Town 3’s Net Dealer. I don’t really recommend getting the 9 Points you can buy; money is extremely precious in BN4, and most of the Points can be found for free. This Mr. Prog collected these Points himself. He’s sad he has no combat abilities, as he’d like to join a tournament. As a side note, From this point in the story onwards a little side story involving this guy and the girl he has a crush on progresses. The story will go on without Megaman’s involvement and you won’t get anything out of it so feel free to ignore it. |

He always picks Scissors. Yes, this was a Rockman joke. This will not be the last time Megaman helps out a random, lonely Mr. Prog. Forgot about these. And now for the 4 Points I didn’t know about until I checked a guide. |

What’s the catch? Another capitalization error. Also, he sends three viruses at you, so that was supposed to be “viruses”. It’s kind of fitting that a large chunk of this game’s typos are about viruses. No, you’ve collected 66. *sigh* The N1 had people from around the world, so what‘s your point? Lan answers that he’s going to try to win. Another monotonous laugh that can be interpreted as sarcasm. Great to see how much faith this man has in Lan. |

After that, Jomon Electric sends an e-mail. So now I can warp straight to Town 2, giving me a safe path past Aquaman Omega and Topman Omega. Folder 2 is crap, as there‘s absolutely nothing useful in it that you can move to your main folder. But I guess it does give E coded folders a little boost, though I don’t know who would use one at this point. Outside of the castle. Inside of the castle. Yeah, they really messed up the perspective. |

The guy right outside just confirmed that. Lan jumps in surprise. The voice repeats its question. Next time: And then BN4 went insane. Current Folder Cannon * x2 Heat Shot C x4 Wide Shot 1 C x4 Sword S Wide Sword S x2 Long Sword S Air Hockey 1 F x4 Air Hockey 3 V Area Grab S Blinder * Invisible * x4 Attack +10 * x4 Gun Del Sol EX G Total codes (not counting * code): 5 Seriously though, that Next Time wasn’t a joke. From this point onwards the majority of the available Tournament scenarios make absolutely no sense (in comparison, the Den/City Tournament had only three outright WTF scenarios out of eight. The Eagle/Hawk Tournament has 7, and the eighth one really stretches the line). Also, the actual plot begins to degenerate into nonsense. |

Of course, this means that there are [if finite and nonduplicate] 350 more points minimum, for 416 points. And it really is an odd thing, though I guess you could have a sort of "pretournament" with the navis fighting with the Points as wagers, until they concentrated in eight Navis, or simply trading them for Zenny as you saw. Interesting note: this (trading) actually happens when this sort of fractional award is available, as I've experienced in one MMO, though I can't say I remember anyone trying battles for them. There is a tradition of wagering money against an item of equal value, though, so it's not unlikely I missed it. edit: Why not go part-E? Can you not get a matching longsword and areagrab set? I mean, your set of [various]Swords is all in S. |

Mind you, this is for Blue Moon. I think Red Sun has a greater variety of E coded chips that are accessible at this point. A better reason to buy Team Protoman would be the fact that every single navi of Team Protoman (except, ironically, Protoman) is superior to their Team Colonel counter parts. |

The last two points are valid, but by BN5 Chaud is actually likable.
There's also the tiny fact that in general, Team Protoman's scenarios make much more sense than Team Colonel's. |

Photobucket claimed it successfully uploaded all of my images, but in reality it screwed up about ten files and didn't tell me.
Anyways, hold on tight, we’re about to take a ride on the Crazy Train. No, we totally can. This is the first round, and to get this far all you had to do was collect 50 Points. Lan’s not so sure. A kid with a chef hat walks over. No. No it isn’t. Lan’s just as confused with the kid’s metaphor as I am. Unless you’re saying your Navi is really shoddy, I don’t see how this applies. Oh, so he was saying that. If we’re going by skill Lan could beat you ten times in a row in his sleep. Literally, if we look at BN2’s final scenario. The script can’t seem to decide whether or not Megaman can see everything in the real world (recall him alerting Lan that Yuichiro was coming) or if he can only see what’s in front of the screen. Alternatively, Megaman is being an idiot. Megaman finally realizes Flave is a chef. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 05-15-2011 at 12:00 PM. |

Are we going to battle, or are you going to cook Lan a full course meal? Weren’t you just going on about how it doesn’t matter how bad the navi is? Flave declares he’ll see Lan “there” and leaves. By “there”, he presumably meant the battle. Unfortunately, Lan’s brain has suddenly stopped working. So has Megaman’s. I love how this exchange (which I’m certain was badly translated) makes it sound like Lan and Megaman weren’t even paying attention to Flave. What part of Flave’s speech implied he was planning something? That’s the beginning cutscene of this scenario. It’s only going to get worse. Flave appears to have spontaneously created a booth. The obvious error here can’t be excused as casual dialog; Flave’s personality is that of an insufferable genius who uses big words far too often. What could possibly be the point of that? Flave confirms the man’s explanation. |

Because it’s so hard to boil water without the aid of a super advanced AI. Er, yes? How convenient. I think that last image was supposed to be Flave. Either that, or that woman is very easily excited. |

The man’s soul rises out of his body, causing everyone but Flave to jump.
No, seriously. So according to BN4 if you eat something really delicious your soul will leave its body. What is this, Yakitate Japan? The man’s soul returns to his body. So Flave’s meal almost killed a man? That doesn’t sound very appetizing. Lan’s supposed to be saying he loves curry. *shakes fist at translators* The screen fades to black as everyone walks over to the booth. Dude, a compliment’s a compliment. This is obviously a mugshot error, but you could try to justify it as Lan wondering what the curry is missing. |

Too bad Lan wonders the exact same thing three lines later. Also, comma error and missing question mark. Flave starts jumping in anger. Lan gets annoyed at Flave’s attitude. Lan is confused, forcing Flave to repeat his challenge. Flave takes that as Lan accepting the challenge. With that, the cutscene ends. Seems Lan is in a trance. |

Another cutscene plays as soon as Lan exits Mel Square.
Haruka accordingly makes curry fairly often, so it’d be really weird if Lan didn’t know at least the basics. But screw reason. Lan sighs that he doesn‘t. Lan gets an e-mail. This sounds like a cult. Megaman notes a key was attached. Lan wonders who the Cooking Master is. It seems Lan’s brain has finally booted up again. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 05-15-2011 at 12:48 PM. |

Where did that “anyway” come from? You know, why does the newly constructed Park Area even have private areas? Megaman asks if the navi is the Cooking Master. The navi responds that he’s just the Cooking Master’s navi. The navi apologizes that he can’t answer Lan’s questions. Megaman asks for Lan’s opinion. The navi directs Megaman’s attention to the hole behind him. Shouldn’t pans have bottoms? |

He’s supposed to be saying that the machine creates data representations of the ingredients. So how is this in any way more convenient than just making curry normally? Lan, all you’re going to do is shove ingredients into a machine. There’s not much teamwork here. The screen fades to black as Megaman goes off to find a chef hat and a knife. Because all curry ingredients must be sliced up. If you’re capable of pre-cutting the meat, why not just do that with everything? |
