Actually, Alpha Werewolf is going to be doing the other versions.
Alright, time to start the next BN game. Megaman reminds Lan they’re on a school trip. Megaman asks if Lan even heard what he said. And now we have to talk to everyone. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 12-06-2010 at 10:27 PM. |

Some of the NPCs just give you a basic run down on game mechanics. After you talk to the kid who talks about the start menu (actually he was talking about e-mail), you’ll get an e-mail to illustrate his point. It just talks about rising Net Crime. As you can see, Yai got a new portrait. And thank God; the last one looked horrid. After you talk to everyone… MANDATORY TUTORIAL TIME! You don’t say. After that we’re directed to jack in. |

Blah blah blah you know all of this. What I want to show is this. BN3 introduced Countering. Basically, every enemy in the game has a certain pose where, if you delete them, a sound will play and they’ll be pushed back while exploding. This is called Countering. Mind you, you can Counter an enemy with anything but Support chips. Even the basic Megabuster shot. Once the battle over, you’ll be awarded a certain amount of Bug Frags depending on how many times you Countered. One Counter gives you 1 Bug Frag, two Counters give you 3 and three Counters give you 8. If you Counter a boss, you’ll get 10 Bug Frags. Countering also positively affects your busting level. So yeah, there’s no real excuse in this game to hack infinite Bug Frags since it’s so easy to get them, but eh. Yai decides the meeting place will be her homepage and the time will be tonight. She also tells the other three to meet up after school to discuss the details more. You’d think they’d just have the chat after school. |

A disk? Really? Ms. Mari ends class. We got knowledge young child. Useless knowledge, to be sure, but knowledge. I wonder if that frog with an attitude is still here. |

Hm. I guess that’s kind of fascina- Why are Lan and Megaman examples in a textbook? |

Interesting. You may or may not have noticed but Lan’s using a new PET. Same jack-in pose though. So yeah, BN3 has a lot of little side details. I’ve shown most of them so far, but that’s only to pad this update. This is the end result of a battle with three Counters. Alright, let’s get to the main changes between BN2 and BN3. The start menu now covers the entire screen. |

The Chip Folder and Sub Chip screens have been revamped. And apparently in the month(s) between BN2 and BN3, Lan lost two chip folders and all of those rare chips I spent so much time getting. There are now Mega chips and Giga chips and the Library has changed to reflect this. The majority of Mega chips are Navi chips, though some of the more powerful chips like Hero Sword are there too. You can only have five in your folder. There are a total of 20 Giga Chips 21 if we count the event chip. The majority are all very powerful and very useful, and as such you can only have one in your folder. Megaman’s page has also been revamped. As you may note, levels have been removed. Also, there’s a second page. That will come up later. The E-mail, Key Item, and Communication pages have also been revamped. Trade Styles has been removed, but there’s something new in its place I’ll talk about later. The Netbattle system has also been upgraded, but since I can’t do that I won’t talk about it. Finally, the exit button is now on the left. Okay, some battle mechanics changes I didn’t talk about earlier since I was skipping through the tutorial. First off, Megaman can now charge his buster even at Charge 1. Second, the charge shot does 10x damage now. Finally, this could just be me but the lag on Cannons has increased even more. Okay, enough messing around. Let’s get through the beginning scenario. The blackboard computer held a RegUp1. |

There is no longer a magic warp between Lan’s classroom and the school gate. Most of the areas have returned, with some exceptions. Lan will grade all of these; Mayl gets 7, Dex gets 2, he gets 8, and Yai gets 10. Aside from everything being brighter, ACDC is unchanged from BN2. Lan’s Dog House held a Barrier L. Where? Oh, they just magically appeared. Never mind. |

Yai asks the other two when they should start. Mayl and Dex reply that their schedules are open.
Pedo alert. The man apologizes for intruding and introduces himself as a producer for the Den City News Network (DNN). Yai is as obnoxious as ever. The man asks Lan and co. to give it a shot. Lan, Mayl, and Dex are appropriately surprised. Yai, on the other hand… |

This guy knows how to convince people. The man rushes off. Dex declares there’s no question about whether or not he’ll do it, and Gutsman seconds his motion. Lan decides to try out as well, and Megaman agrees. Roll convinces Mayl to try as well, and Yai’s in a hurry to get to her big debut. So the decision is unanimous. Mayl and Yai also leave. With that, we can enter the houses of Lan’s friends. Creepily enough, Dex’s house has a poster of Roll in it. Dex’s PC held a Guts Punch B and 200 Z. Yai’s mansion now links directly to Yai’s room again. You can see Mario’s costume up on the rack over there, and some Megaman Legends references on the floor and the couch. Wow, Yai’s even younger than I thought. Yai’s PC held a RegUp2 and a Side Gun S. What’s notable about is that in White version you can actually find Canodumb2s in it (they might be in Blue as well but I can’t tell). If you manage to get their chip drop, HiCannon is a very good chip to have right now, even though the code’s a little wonky. Aside from another Legends reference, Mayl’s room doesn’t have much. Though is that a snowboard on her bed? Her PC held 500 Z and a PMD we can’t open yet. |

As soon as we step into Lan’s room, we get some mail from Dex telling us to hurry up.
So yeah, Heat Guts is canon…? Lan’s home page is a lot bigger. And the Net has been changed again. Say goodbye to Den area, say hello to ACDC area. Here’s this game’s barrier. ACDC 1’s BMD held a Mini Energy, ACDC 2’s held a Copy Damage * and 800 Z. ACDC 2 also had a Net Merchant. Just as a side note, Power UPs no longer exist. To increase Megaman’s stats, you’ll have to use something we’ll get later. ACDC 3’s BMDs held a Long Sword E and a Panel Out 3. It also links to another section of ACDC 1 that has a Wide Sword L. ACDC Square has another Net Merchant. Though I don’t have a screen to compare it, what you can buy from Net Dealers is different between Blue and White. This is perhaps the most notable difference; in White you can buy a Bamboo Sword N instead of an Electricity Sword N. Believe me, White got the better deal. One of the things I’d like to point out about the different versions are the chip codes the viruses will drop. In Blue a normal busting rank against a Canodumb will get you a Cannon D. In White, it gets you a Cannon B I believe. The BBS’s are over here. Why they downgraded from Message Boards to BBS’s is beyond me. |

So yeah, pretty simple. Megaman and Lan celebrate clearing the first round. Gutsman, Roll, and Glide also celebrate. |

That Long Sword E is the only one in the game. DO NOT LOSE IT!

You can get more Long Sword E's by S Ranking Swordies.

Yeah, I'm inclined to say White gets the better deal. Not that the boss that it's used for is that hard, I S-ranked him yesterday.
Shop differences, in the same order as the update: (No HP memories, already bought them) |

Sorry this update took so long.
Megaman alerts Lan that it’s about time for the chat. You have to talk with everyone before the chat starts. I always talk to Roll and Gutsman first since it makes Glide’s two lines flow together smoother. Glide repeats Yai’s words to everyone else. Megaman apologizes for not reminding Lan. Lan tells him not to worry, and that the assignment will be easy. Dex exclaims that he left his disc at school. |

Megaman admonishes Lan for making Dex feel worse. Yai demands that she can come too. Glide tries to get her to reconsider, but then Mayl chips in. Lan decides he may as well go too. Megaman reminds him about his homework. He better not wait till the end of the game again. At this point Dex cuts back in. Gutsman boasts that Dex isn’t afraid of anything. He claims that bravery is Dex’s middle name. Lan decides to get going. |

Worst. Award. Ever. Oh great. Eh? A custom sprite? Already? Seriously? It looks like you could climb over it. That is some crap security. Mayl asks if Lan is sure. Our destination is in ACDC 2. As a total side note, GMDs in ACDC 2 can drop 1000 Z. So even if you weren’t hacking, this is a pretty easy way to get zenny early in the game. Megaman observes the guard is taking a nap. |

Lan groans. Megaman decides they should just leave while they can. Lan agrees. After that, we get some mail from Mayl. That’s not suspicious at all. Yai complains that Dex is such a chicken before noting that she’s too scared to go in front as well. Mayl tells us to be careful. Lan tells Dex to look closer. Dex proceeds to inspect his desk again. |

Yai sighs that Dex probably dropped it somewhere. Lan asks Dex to try and retrace his steps after he got the disk. The screen pixellizes into a flashback. Seriously, that’s how they decided to transition. Those books are actually ripped if you inspect them. It was probably Dex. Mayl decides they should just look around the room. The other three proceed to spread out across the room and stand around, leaving the searching up to Lan. Jerks. |

|

Lan alerts Dex he found the disc. Yai tells Dex to be more careful. Mayl’s just happy they found the disc. Lan agrees. Yai decides she just imagined it. Dex jumps and shrieks. Dex wonders (and stutters) if it’s a ghost. Megaman notes that something feels strange, and wonders if it’s actually a burglar. |
#417
|
|||
|

Brilliant deduction. Not like Lan just said that. Mayl warns Lan that he’s doing something dangerous. Yai tells him to be careful. Inside the server is a HP Memory. Also Anyways, as soon as we head to the door to the Principal’s Office… Mayl and Yai declare that they’re going too. Lan points out that there were supposed to be waiting outside. Apparently the game assumed you’d take the time to explore the entire room, since that’s the only way these three could have gotten to the door without Lan noticing. |

|

The last time Lan “let” you, you all charged headfirst into a radiated hellhole. Yai and Mayl confirm. All three of them move back a step, and on Dex’s word charge in. Megaman and Lan follow. Meet Rei Saiko. This time around, they didn’t even bother giving the new characters English names. At this point Lan rushes in. Dex turns to him and points out that now it’s their turn to shine. And in the process… He gets Rei’s attention. Nice going there Dex. Lan wonders what Rei means. Dex tells Lan to stay back. Yai declares that they can win if they work together. |

Rei quickly jumps to the side and points his hand forward. Flashman cheers again. Dex chugs out of the room. Seriously. Yai pirouettes her way out of the room. Mayl apparently turned into a zombie. Flashman confirms that if something is hit by his Hypno Flash, they’re be hypnotized until he’s deleted. Megaman tells Lan to run. Lan admits he can’t do anything and escapes. Dude, you attack with light. You could have just hypnotized him while he was watching the other three leave. Rei laughs that he doesn’t need to waste time on Lan. |

And directly after saying that he decides to leave his navi behind to deal with Lan. So now we have to check up on what happened to Lan’s friends. Mayl is zombie walking near the entrance. Megaman points out that the hypnotic beam means they’ll have to be careful. Lan wonders if there’s any way they could avoid it. Dude, you’re hypnotizing them. Not killing them. Get your verbs straight. Lan takes the opportunity to run up and jack Megaman in. |
