That… what… huh? So EM radiation in the real world is somehow creating a portal in the Cyberworld…? I’d understand if Koto Area was just distorted, but there’s an actual portal. How does that work?



It took you this long to realize that if there was a base in Koto Area there was probably a base in the real life equivalent.

E(lectromagnetic) M(agnetic) radiation includes the light spectrum and heat. You’re going to have to be a bit more specific on what there’s 10,000 times more of.



Okay, harmful to humans, got it. That leaves us at… pretty much everything outside of the visible light spectrum really. Except maybe radio waves. Not sure about them.

Seriously though, I think they mean gamma rays. That’s what most people usually talk about when it comes to radiation. Then again, I’m basing this statement off Marvel comics so take it with a handful of salt.





It’s 10,000 times the radiation levels of a society based around computers. I think the worst case scenario is the expected one.



Yuichiro admits they have a few things that could help.

This guy appears in the Mother Computer room.

This guy is walking around in an area with 30,000 times the normal radiation. That is amazing.

Incidentally, he’s not lying.

Oh yeah, turns out this chip has Megaman essentially throw a Magnetbomb, only instead of creating a magnetic field it creates a whirlpool.

I just have it in here as a placeholder for chips I transfer over from my main folder.



Meh, I just rushed through this one. Didn’t bother dodging.

Heatman V3 is insane. His Fire Towers come at you at breakneck speeds, and this move now has five flames instead of two.

Lan kicks the door.

As Lan runs away, a voice tells him to wait up. Lan sends back a sarcastic response and heads for the door.

He then stops.




Sorry Lan didn’t want you to enter a radiation filled hellhole.

Okay, Roll was in Yumland during Freezeman’s scenario, so Mayl is at least an A Rank City Netbattler. But Yai and Dex? They’re still Z ranks.




Oh great, so Douche is here too? Did he fly back from Netopia when no one was looking?



Yai expresses frustration at Lan and Mayl’s argument and decides to be the voice of reason.



So is this special anti-radiation material all of these suits are made out of transparent, or what?

…What? First Dex says the entire building is a server, than Mayl says servers are just growi- wait, what? Growing?



Yai confirms that the servers were growing.









So you just let him get cancer? Worst. Friends. Ever.



Lan tells them to leave the rest to him.

Mayl thanks him.

Radio Waves = Microwaves, so, uh, yeah, they're a little dangerous.

Not really. They heat things up, mainly.

If the radiation is ten thousand times "stronger" it would be on the higher end of the spectrum - the kind of radiation that the atmosphere blocks and is lethal in not-small doses. Ultraviolet is the weakest of these, then X-Rays, and everything after that is Gamma Rays.

But making sense of THIS game's plot with science is a lost cause.

After fixing the Room 201 warp, we reach our destination.

Lan notes they weren’t able to access the top floor’s network.



Lan decides to check out the elevator.



All of these floors but 9 and 30 are pointless.




To be sure, there are places you can jack into. But…



They just lead to those room networks. Incidentally, in floor 8’s network I found a HPMemory I missed the first time through.

Anyways, on floor 9...








Okay, let’s end this.

The screen turns white.










Lan decides they must be in the wrong spot and skates to the other door (that, incidentally, would lead to right behind the elevator shaft).



Since I’ve got terrible luck with these screen captures, you can’t see it, but Lan is being electrocuted here.





…Did Lan just die? I mean, his suit overloaded…

Oh of course not. Enough radiation to physically electrocute you obviously has no negative effects at all.

Lan shakes his head and gets up.

Once again, V1 forms only.






Megaman hesitatingly agrees.

Lan skates into the next room and looks around for a bit.



Megaman’s amazed at the sheer number of servers.



Lan skates forward.







The man boasts that all the information on the world is on his monitor.



Lan angrily points out that people around the world are suffering thanks to Grave.




Lan asks if the man has ever talked to any of his victims. The man asks why he would even want to do that.

Someone’s got some severe psychological issues.





The man steps forward a bit.




Lan’s response?

Welcome to the final area.



At about the halfway point a cutscene starts.



Megaman runs up in joy.

Megaman shouts that he can’t delete his friends.





Oh no, Roll. Whatever shall we do now.

Megaman tries to get Roll to recognize him. Roll attacks him.




The attack continues.



You’re at full health Megaman.



The man laughs that he didn’t need the Super Navi after all.

Then some pink sparkles come from off-screen and hit Roll. Roll proceeds to explode.




Megaman looks around for a bit, when suddenly

How is Roll doing that? Why is she able to float over the bottomless pit?



Glide answers that copies were made of them when they snuck in. Roll apologizes for causing Megaman so much trouble. Megaman replies that since they came to help, it’s no big problem.



It was a copy of a program. You can’t really distinguish between the two.










Lan thanks his friends.

Lan asks if Megaman is ready for a fight.



Lan realizes that Megaman is still too damaged from Roll’s whipping to fight. Despite, you know, being at full health.



The screen flashes white.




Okay, Protoman suddenly got a vocabulary.



The scene switches to the real world.



Who is supposed to be in Netopia right now. Seriously, how’d he get here so fast?




…Wasn’t the foreign invasion force an endless army of copies? How did Douche stop them?





Douche turns away.






The room starts shaking and the servers start glowing.

Lan wonders what’s going on. Gospel’s leader begins to laugh.








Lan asks Douche who Bass is, despite the fact that Lan faced him in BN1 and Network Transmission (though both times were optional).




…The hell are you talking about? Bass was the first Solo Navi so his creation was well-documented.




..Ew.





Lan declares that he’ll never let that happen, and calls out Megaman’s name.

And with that Roll, Gutsman, Glide, and Protoman all vanish.





Megaman runs up.







*groan*

Bass is very underwhelming. As you might note, he has no aura.



And he only has one attack.

(Actually he has two, but I didn't let him live long enough to use the other. It's just the charged buster spread.)






Say hello to the true face of the leader of Gospel. Note how he was on the plane that Gauss was trying to crash.



The kid looks at himself in surprise and wonders what happened to his cyber suit.








The kid begins typing rapidly.



Apparently to increase power in this world you need to spastically wave your hands.



I think he’s supposed to be screaming here, not celebrating. Translators…!



Dex jumps and shouts that he’s feeling it too.

Megaman alerts Lan the radiation is over 50k times normal.















See, this would be touching if staying behind and fighting didn’t mean unnecessarily giving yourself cancer.




Lan declares he’ll be fine and promises to catch up with the other laters.




Once again, Lan says something that can be interpreted as either platonic or romantic.

And once again, Mayl interprets it romantically. Because she loves Lan. You know, in case you hadn’t figured it out yet.



Lan continues with the “maybe friendship maybe love” word choice.



Yai, not now.



Dex, Mayl, and Yai scram. Mayl stops for a bit to look back at Lan then returns to running.



Douche rushes out.



The ki- okay, you know what? I’ll just use his name, Sean Obihiro.

Sean continues typing like a madman.

And then BN2 failed common sense.



I’m not sure if the writers knew this, but for machines 100% output is as high as they can physically function. There is no such thing as 120% no matter what your coach may tell you.






So this would make the original 100% actually 67%.




The lights flicker.

This would make the original 100% actually 50%.

The lights flicker again.






Bass reappears.











Sean asks Bass what’s wrong.
