Wow, the translation of this game is awful. Makes me glad I've never played it.

The overall translation isn't that bad, but there are just so many minor errors you have to wonder if they even proofread the thing.

I never made it past ShadeMan's initial scenario myself, although that's more because I'd picked all three Star Force games on the cheap, and once I'd burned through them on a vacation trip, I picked up BN 3-6 (Although I got the 5 DS version) once I got back.
I got through 5, decided to go back to 3 and do that one, and just got utterly burned out. It also didn't help that apparently my MM twitch muscles have disappeared over the years. I used to play MMX religiously to the point where I could buster-kill my way through everything in a single life. |

So is the viewer participation, a vote on if you should use Dark Chips during the LP?

Nothing much to add just yet - the games don't diverge scenario-wise until a little later.
The pork is a cow in Red Sun. Here are a couple of places that we'll be able to jack into in the future: Finally, Dex's homepage contains this conversation on the battle BBS: Current Folder: Cannon A x2 Airshot A x3 Guard1 A x4 (one regular) Thunder1 L x4 Minibomb L x1 Sword S x4 Widesword S x4 Longsword S x1 Areagrab S x1 Vulcan V x3 Invis * x1 Atk+10 * x2 Got another Widesword - from the same GMD as last time, which may be worth checking; It's behind the merchant at ACDC2. Not much else changed that hasn't in Blitz's folder, just that I haven't been grinding for chips. |

And again, that assumes BN4's script was written in formal Japanese. Quote:
Okay, that’s kind of creepy. Well that was quick. Inside this GCN is a Counter 1 T. Man, look at that game of “chess”. What happened to the fan collection? |

There’s nothing else that can be done today, so it’s time to go to sleep. And as always, as Lan sleeps important cut scenes play. Something about that just sounds wrong. Maybe it’s just me. In any case, “scientists from every country” apparently means four guys. And that’s assuming the two guys in the center aren’t Shilly and the other guy from the intro. |

One of the scientists sputters in disbelief. First off, that’s a theory. Second, you’re basically saying that 200X is the 21st century, which it kind of clearly isn’t, judging by my lack of a Net Navi. Nation Z never shows up again in any way after Yuichiro mentions it here. Regal’s science is the best? What, are there brands of science now? Don’t sell yourself short. |

Might want to work on your speeches a bit more. So while you’d think things would end here so the NAXA subplot could be followed throughout the game, that’s not how BN4 rolls. So Yuichiro is a laser scientist now? This looks like an error, but surprisingly enough it’s not. Regal, there are two other guys who haven’t spoken up ye- |

So what are the other three people going to do? Lan moans that he wants to sleep for a bit longer. After a quick fade to black, Lan’s fully dressed. I like how Lan picked up Megaman and changed clothes before he continued his conversation. I spy with my little eye a missing apostrophe. |

Seriously, what is up with this text formatting? The man gives us Jomon Code so we can get to Town 3 faster. Let’s not ask how he has the security code to a private company. Town 3 has a Net Dealer, but I’m not buying anything for reasons that will become apparent eventually. Anyways, as you can see I haven’t hacked in max zenny (I haven‘t hacked in max bug frags either). This is because one of the many things BN4 really dropped the ball on was how it handled its two currencies. I intend to show this to you, but it’s still a while off. Town 3’s sole BMD held a Recover 30 R. Behind this door is nothing. I don’t even know why it’s here. Actually I do, and it just makes the whole thing stupider. Yet another BN1 virus. |

Town 3 has a large underground section, but it can’t be accessed yet. Alright, here’s the viewer participation I promised. You have all 26 letters, all 10 digits, a slash mark, a hyphen, a dot, and a period. Make a name. The only restriction is that it can not be HUB, LAN, or BLU because come on now. |

So currently it's at:
BOT - 0 GBA - 1 ROK - 1 ROC - 1 BSD - 4 I kind of want to get this over with, so I'll be closing this poll at the end of this day. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 04-22-2011 at 11:18 PM. |

Next update is almost ready, but I found something very interesting.
Turns out that BN4 does not barf all over itself if you link the two versions together too soon. I spent quite a while trying to get it happen (I even went as far as resetting the game and linking as soon as I gained player control), and no matter what it wouldn't happen. So either it was just a myth, or Capcom released fixed copies. Who knows. |
#1078
|

|

...why would it barf all over itself?

Basically, both versions of BN4 have six version-exclusive navis that are pretty much fought in random order, with the exception of the first one, which is always set.
However, after you beat a version exclusive navi, it's possible to transmit it over to the other version, allowing you to face it there. Basically, the story was that if you transmit data too early, the game would not be able to guarantee that you battle the set version-exclusive navi first, resulting in it barfing all over itself and ruining the cartridge. That's just a basic summary though; I'll go over this in more detail later. Looks like I’m going with BSD. Okay, back to the Square. Lan cheers. Oh, so we’re going to a new locati- What? If that’s all the prelim was, what was the point of “Follow me” and “Can you all hear me”? Last edited by BlitzBlast; 04-23-2011 at 02:39 PM. |

But one of the NPCs outside said she had already failed the prelims. Did she time travel or something? While we’re at it, shouldn’t there be more people here than just Lan? Let’s do the tasks right to left. I have never understood this riddle. Cue three round virus battle. So is she just acting, or are the prelims just helping random people? |
