So who are all these people that come here with low post counts and just start LPs without even really going to the other boards? Is it just me or is it strange?

On the other hand, a lot of the regulars who start an LP don't finish, and the board is pretty much dominated by 2-3 people that do LP after LP, so if these other guys want to do something AND FINISH WHAT THEY START then 'sall good. |

I don't think it's strange. Running an LP is a great way to get yourself noticed by the other board members, so its only natural that newcomers who have yet to make a name for themselves would be drawn to it. Besides, how would this be any different than someone limiting themselves to the Pit of Flames, or Television Games forums? Some people are just more comfortable in some subforums than others.

You make a good point, Pa-pee-yon.

Well, I didn't come here with my LP in mind, but it occurred to me that if I'm going to run one anyway, and don't want or have a Something Awful account, this is the best place on the Internet to do it.

I bet that at least 70% of my posts here have been LP-related, even if you adjust for the fact that a bunch of them are really just one post split into multiple parts due to picture constraints. I'm a lurker by nature, and when I'm not writing for an LP or answering questions about one, I tend to slip into the background...

I came to Talking Time for the LPs. No need to mince words about it, this forum was my sole reason for joining. LPs are a great way to learn about classic games you've never played, to be reminded of the ones you have played, and just to generally enjoy yourself. I've seen so many different LPs here and elsewhere, in so many styles, that I've gotten a bit of an affinity for them if you will. So hanging out on the part of Talking Time where LPs are the only thing anybody talks about is fine and dandy for me.

LPs were my reason for starting visiting and registering too. It's still the only subforum I will keep up with even when I'm busy with other stuff.

Wow, I didn't know our LP forum was so popular. We actually made a dent in the internet!

Edit! The last cluster of messages was enough to get me off my duff and try Deadly Towers again. Guys, it helps a LOT if you don't have the Parallel Shot! It's a power-up that makes things much more difficult rather then easier! Last edited by Octopus Prime; 11-30-2008 at 07:55 PM. |

Yeah, I came here for the LPs. There was a link on a TV Tropes page to Brickroad's FF1 LP, and it all just went on from there.
