Definitely Suikoden.

Shivam's got me beat, but not by too much. I say Suikoden.
Also, Brick. You're taking Clive. I want this clear right now: you are using Clive in your party. This is happening or I will find you. |

I'm not doing Suikoden 2. Not ever. Or 3 or 4 or 5 for that matter. The original is the only one in the series I would be comfortable doing.

Why do you do this, Shivam?

slow day at work.
Also, i totally want him to do suikoden. That game can never be talked about enough for my taste. I don't want folks to think i'm discouraging him. (i just couldn't let it go unchallenged =) ) |

You said it. -_-
Without the lure of future Suikodens, I don't care all that much in this debate. Crystalis sounds pretty similar to a lot of the LPs that have been filing through recently but Suikoden has McDohl. Last edited by Elfir; 06-28-2008 at 10:00 AM. |

Well, I'm very glad for the Mega Man Fun Clubs, so that I look like slightly less of a douche for leaving my LP hanging (hint: a certain lack of interest, coupled with my own pessimism towards anything I undertake [the latter more than the former] destroyed my will to conutinue. At least I finished the first game, though).
As far as Brickroad's next LP, I'm going to buck conventional wisdom and say Crystalis. It just seems like it would lend itself better to a LP. Last edited by Issun; 06-28-2008 at 06:23 AM. |

I'm going to say Crystalis too, because I have not already played it to completion.

Only if you gave him an M name in the first game! Otherwise you get JcDohl or ZcDohl or whatever.

God damn it. Wrote the number when I meant Suikoden 1. >_<

I vote for Suikoden, because I've played all of the RPGs except for the PS1 entries.

The only concern I have with Suikoden is that Something Awful has a really great Suikoden LP that will be tough to top. I would kill for a good Suikoden II, though.

that, and suiko 1's just not really that long or complex. it's really easy to get a full run.
suiko 2, on the other hand, has more interesting stuff than you can shake a ps2 at. |

I would love to do an Earthbound LP, but I've only gone through the game once so I'm not savvy enough to play it with one hand or anything like that. I have no idea what I'd do to make it more than a "Watch Me Play."
That said, I am open to someone else playing this and showing off neat tricks. |

Also, my first post is ready right now but I'm super trashed so I'll be posting it as soon as I wake up tomorrow just to enserue that I don't make any mistakes. Get ready to battle Ogres, everyone! Edit: It's now tomorrow, and it has begun. Last edited by Alixsar; 06-29-2008 at 02:27 PM. |

Is there a reason that July 27 has nothing?

I'm pretty sure no one's claimed that date yet.

Contrary to my previous statement, I think I'll have done enough prep work by the time July 27 rolls around that I could start a Star Ocean play through if that doesn't get claimed by someone else.

Thanks for that, and for the list itself, it's good that you're willing to keep track of all of this.

Glee! That sounds like a fun one. The first one, right? Never got to play that one, myself.

Sorry to put a damper on your glee, it's the second one. I don't have much familiarity with SO1. I'm afraid that I've never gotten around to finding a way to get it to run and now that the remakes are (presumably) waiting to be announced, I'm just waiting for that.
I do hope I have enough interesting game-breaking and participation activities to keep SO2 entertaining though. I just wish my emulator would stop freezing at the shop that sells some of the best stuff. EDIT: If I actually manage to do SO2 justice, I might try doing an SO1 LP if nobody else does, but at this point that's very far off and theoretical. I'd have to familiarize myself with it enough to make things interesting. |

SO2 is awesome too, possibly moreso (haven't played the first so I don't know for sure). I just don't know how you could possibly express how awful the voice acting is through words alone.

I'll see if I can provide MP3s or something, no words can communicate how much I hate Precis' voice. "HERE'S MISTER ENEMY" will never leave my mind.

And that NOISE Opera makes when she gets hit. I remember screaming at the game "STOP HITTING OPERA!!" because it hurt so much. |

Moral: Games were better before Voice Acting made it painful.
Also, the original Star Ocean is just a less good, sci-fi version of Tales of Phantasia. So SO2's the most 'worth it' of the series anyway. |

The best part* of the first Star Ocean is that it unabashedly rips off its opening from the opening of Star Trek VI. I mean, completely.
*May not be the best part since I only ever played the game up to the first battle. |
