By the way, I just learned yesterday that you can queue up video uploads to YouTube. This is awesome because my current LP is at FIFTY VIDEOS and counting, and it's going to be bad enough encoding them all individually, let alone uploading.

I've run into stalls with photobucket uploads more than once, which necessitates restarting the upload. To top that off, freebie account photobucket only allows you to upload 50 images at a time. Doing batch uploads of 200-300 images a day would not have been funtimes.

I also like to make sure I know exactly how many images I'm going to be using. If my "update 5" folder has 30 images, I know that's 3-4 posts, and I can see how I'm going to split them up and what text to write, et cetera. If I uploaded the whole raw batch I'd probably spiral to 10 posts an update. =p
You can bulk-upload them, actually: it only takes about 2 minutes to upload 250 images.

But I'll concede it's YMMV in a way, since some genres lend themselves to the editting process better than others. However, in my personal experience I've had better luck uploading them as one big bunch and rooting through them, so I just wanted to throw in my two cents on the subject so that both sides get equal representation. :v

Anyway, this is probably thinking too far ahead (what with BL still in-progress and all), but I'm already considering what I'm doing for my next next LP and figured I could use some opinions on the decision. As it is, I'm considering the following two:

-Final Fantasy VII. There are a lot of fun things that could be done for this game. Between naming characters, choosing the roles for each character, and the order of side-quests, there's enough there to give the LP that interactive appeal, and the story's obtusity lends itself to both discussion and parody very well. Audience participation wouldn't be a problem; pretty much everyone here's played it already, and a lot of people here seem to enjoy picking apart the FFVII games quite a bit. The only real problem here would be figuring out how to emulate it, but that's a post for the tech thread.

-Pokémon Red. Out of all of the generations, I probably consider the 1st one my favourite on account of how simple and charming it is. Considering that the board's had Pokémania for some time now, that Pokémon lends itself to LPs very well, that I know the game inside and out, and that it's a great game in its own right, LPing it would be a no-brainer. It wouldn't be done until a while later however, what with Shiny Gold wrapping up and Emerald in-progess; generally, I'd wait for the two to finish up and then some so that people wouldn't get sick of all the Poké-ing around. :P

Anway, those are my two main choices*. I've already got a solid idea of what I want to do with either of them, but I'm not sure which one I want to do more. So, which would you like to see more, Talking Time?

*Others I was considering: Altered Beast (normal run), Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (100% run), Metroid (Let's Fail)

I'm a bit Pokemon'd out right now. With Ogre Battle 64 and Fire Emblem nearing their ends, I feel a SRPG shortage looming over the forum...

I didn't want to say anything prematurely, but I was playing this recently (on an emulator) and thinking I'd really like to do an LP of it. I've already taken a butt-ton of screenshots and everything.

But if you're as into it as I am, dibs is dibs.

I know nothing about it so it didn't really jump out at me as one. Will take a look-see when the time comes.

If I were to start working on PokéRed, it probably won't be until mid-November, as I've still got Bahamut Lagoon (*cough*which is an SRPG*coughcough*) to work through and Star Fox will run in October. So hopefully by then people will be ready for another bout of Pokéfever.

Technically I haven't claimed it yet, so it's still up in the air. However, I'd be more than happy to let you do it, if you want. I've already done a decent number of LPs already so it would be unfair for me to hoarde the claim, especially since you've already started testing it out. Besides, I'm curious to see what direction you'll take on it.

A FF7 LP would be the most amazing thing ever, since I could come back and read it when I was feeling nostalgic without ever playing the actual game!

Hmm...

Well, FFVII seems to be the clear winner of the vote, but I don't want to step on any toes either. @Kishi: Would it be all right if I went ahead with it? By all means, you're more than entitled to it since you've already started tinkering around, so feel free to stake your claim if you're interested in LPing it.

Then I'll take PokéRed and you can have FFVII then. I'll be looking forward to reading it.

Shit man I don't blame you, I have to re-watch them myself before I encode them and they're just embarrassing.

I still think that Brick's video LPs were better when the narration was overdubbed after the fact. It takes longer, but your golden sense of humo(u)r has a better chance to shine with that extra polish and effort. And anyway, you're cranking out so many of them at this rate that I can't keep up with the watching, so slowing down on the output wouldn't be a problem for your adoring fans.

When would the next available spot for my Legacy of the Wizard LP be? The game isn't that long, so I doubt it'd take up too much time.

While you're at it, put me down for the weekend of October 18 for Mario RPG. That should probably be enough space between the LP and the Fun Club, and I'm pretty sure I can pump out two Fire Emblem updates in five weeks, no matter how hectic my schedule gets.

Treasure Planet is finished up for now, Reel. I may add some more campaign shots over the next week, but it's effectively done.

Super-short LP are satisfying to do!

Shrug. I wanted to do a mini-LP, just a weeklong thing. I didn't get as many updates in as I wanted, but some of that was just the game I picked (thought I'd get a little more out of it than was actually there). Not EVERY LP needs to stretch for months. =p

You're sure optimistic

Maybe if I tackle it like a NANOWRIMO project, I'd manage that. Super crazy: I look at other long RPGs and think "that'd be an awesome LP!" @_@;;
