Okay. I was gonna make a thread for it just to make it easier for people to vote on where to go next etc., so that's why I was asking if I need to get it into the queue. I'm testing something now and, if it works, I'll be good to go basically any time.

Please, please, please, please do.

Also, based on what little of it I've played thus far (getting not much further then the first boss), Deadly Towers does NOT deserve its reputation. Not even remotely.

I mean, given the choice between it and either Legend of Zelda or Crystalis is no choice at all, but it's honestly not that bad.

Default LP archive and shameless plug!

Hey guys, it occurred to me this morning that I have a domain name I'm doing absolutely jack-all with. I'd be willing to archive our completed Master Classes and LPs there.

The address would probably be http://www.sixmeans.com/masterclass/. My friend owns the Recycled Gaming blog and could be willing to sponsor it. (I'm occasionally writing for the RG blog too, so check it out and tell me how much I suck - I'm writing as Luke C.)

If this sounds good to people, let me know and we can start working out details and setting up the site.

Well, domains are no big deal; the issue is storage. What's available, where's it located, how permanent is it (some guy's school account, their own custom mainframe they have plugged into a T1 at home), and so on?

Actually, it'd be even more useful if images could be stored there as the LP goes. My 7 MBs of song and screenshots have just about filled my quota, and Photobucket isn't fun to deal with.

This particular friend owns his own hosting company, with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Storage would be essentially unlimited, but the limit of what he could give us for free isn't. He lives up in Washington, so I assume his server is up there.

Netbrian: I don't really see an issue with that. I'd been figuring it would be for the completed ones only, but I figure that anyone who really wants to could use the hosting that way. I was going to let anyone who wanted to format their own LP for the archive; I'll donate a directory under my domain and negotiate a deal with my friend for hosting, but I'm not going to do all the coding work.

I want to do an LP.

Mother 1 for NES (localized as Earth Bound but never released). The game can be a grindfest and many people can get turned off when the first enemy outside has a good chance of killing you. But the second half of the game is pretty interesting, so perhaps fans of the sequels will be able to see the first game.

I'd like to claim this and be queued up (but seeing where the queue currently lands, it'd be better for me to have a start date after the new year).

Gotcha. Any specific date after the new year, or do you just want it claimed for now?

Since we seem to be starting on Sundays, let's say January 11.

Now that I've played it a bit further, I can easily see where some of Deadly Towers... fallacies... arise.

Honestly, with very, very little effort this could have easily been one of the best Zelda clones there is. Actually, with considerably less effort then what actually went in the game design, it could have done that.

It's... baffling.

I saw Oregon Trail up there on the list. I'll take that if anybody else wants to read it.

As long as your people don't all shit themselves to death like the other Oregon Trail LP I read, I'll happily read it.

Can you push OoT back to January? I'm still grappling with this whole Star Fox 64 thing and I'm worried that I might need to forgo the video aspect of it entirely and do a screenshot/text thing. I'm still trying to get it to work, but in the event that I do have to do it "the old fashioned way", I want there to be a gap between my two LPs.

Also, I want time to play Left 4 Dead. Man, that game is going to rock.

If you find the speed shoes (or whatever item makes you run faster) and the first armor and first sword, the game gets considerably easier (and less tedious).

Umm...why did you put me down for a Left 4 Dead LP? I was just saying that I don't want to be doing anything at the end of November because that game is coming out and I want it super bad. I don't even think there is a way to LP that. Although, somehow recording an Xbox Live session with the right people would be pretty bad ass. But still.

I did SCIENCE on that first part. You might be a bit surprised at the results.

And the First sword you can buy is actually the sword you start with, which is a bit of a waste of money. The stores don't change their equipment until after you've gotten enough macguffins, and you could run off to find the second best weapon at almost any time.

Buying all the armor definitely helped though.

This is the only option ever.

Especially if it means a mass grave site near the first river.

Just popping in to say that I'm totally psyched to see a Mother 1 / Earthbound 0 LP.

In the grand tradition of me wanting to do LPs on NES games I know of, but have never played to any significant extent, I've worked out what I want to work on after I'm finished Deadly Towers.

I'm not sure which, exactly, I want to start with, so put me down tentatively for Infiltrator, Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves and Rocket Ranger.

If anyone has a recommendation for or against any of them, please, let me know, since I can't decide which to do first.

Neither of those three games held my interest for long enough to play through them. Also, the game mechanics were not up my alley. So...

play Sweet Home.

(Keep in mind I played AND finished Deadly Towers).

EDIT: Sigh...to be at least a little bit helpful...if you decide to do Robin Hood, I would advise doing it as a video LP, because the backgrounds didn't look very appealing and very repetitive. Dozens of grey/green/brown screenshots are boring...

What's everyone think about a Mother 3 LP? I probably wouldn't do it until December at the earliest (thanks to work), but I know there are a lot of people interested in it that can't get beyond having to play it on an emulator/flash cart. You guys know my track record is good for finishing and whatnot.

Is this "too soon"?
