I haven't read the whole thread yet, but from the first post I noticed people desire Mario is Missing. I have a working copy for SNES, which unfortunately doesn't do anything since screencaps would be ugly, but I do like the game so I'd be willing to find a ROM at some point once the backlog is reduced.

If you do Mario is Missing, that would be wicked boss. Is there anything you've got planned for it? I've got a few ideas if you need any.

@SaGa people: Should I add it as a claim on the front page with a list of participants thus far?

If you want, keeping in mind my participating hinges entirely on someone sending me a copy of the game, and it not being scheduled the week of July 21 (when I'll be LPing something else).

I, too, own the strategy guide but not the game. This is because game stores will buy old shitty games but not old ripped up strategy guides.

I'm not quite sure on the details of how this would work, but it sounds fine to me.

Not at the moment... I honestly haven't thought of the game in many years but reading this made me remember how much I liked it. I'll pop it in and remind myself of the game details sometime this week. I'm certainly welcome to suggestions since I'm still figuring out exactly how this whole "Let's Play" thing works.

Um...I was pretty much scheduled today. But things have popped up, and turns out I'll have to delay my thread. These "things" include me playing through Twilight Princess for the first time ever, plus me wanting to devote more time to studying for summer college classes. So if anyone else wants to go ahead and get started, feel free to!

Hum.

I'm ready to go with Star Control II in the abstract. I'm not completely prepared to go this very second, but if drafted I could get things going in a day or two. The logistical problem with my doing Star Control II now, though, is that Red Hedgehog is doing a great job with Bard's Tale at the moment. I don't really want to distract from/compete with him, and I have a gut feeling that a lot of the people interested in Bard's Tale are also interested in Star Control II.

On the other hand, with the queue as it stands now if I don't go now I won't be able to go until mid-July. But I'm taking the bar exam at the end of July and probably won't have the time to devote to a Let's Play. Then I'll be going on a trip for a few weeks right after the Bar, so in essence if I don't go now I'll be out until mid-August.

So: I'd be willing to go now, but I don't have to. If anyone else wants to go, please do so and I'll happily wait.

Talk it over with RH. His updates look hell of labor intensive and having another LP going concurrently would take some of the "here were are now entertain us" pressure off of him.

I use ePSXe, but I can switch to some other Windows based emulator. I have no idea if ePSXe memory cards can be transfered over to other emulators...

So who gets Riki? There's gotta be some way we can settle that without... violence.

IF someone supplies me with a copy of the game and IF we're not firing it up the week of 7/21, I'll take Riki myself.

I don't think we'd be starting that early, plus turn order could be decided to help avoid situations like that. Ebay has a couple cheap copies up so might try to get one of those to mail. Though I've never ebayed. It scares me.

This is my list so far:

Elfir - Emelia preferred, else Asellus, maybe copy
Zithuan - maybe copy
JFink - Asellus or Emelia, has copy
Brickroad - Riki?, needs copy
Coinspinner
Turnip?

I figure the start is gonna be into August or something unless someone wants to go first sooner. The queue is pretty crowded already for the next few weeks. I don't know what emulators are best for screenshots and compatibility with a wide range of systems.

I have no problem with MoltenBoron doing his LP, so long as he's not treading on the toes of anyone in the queue.

It looks like July 13th still has an open spot, so I'd like to claim that spot for my Boktai LP if it's still available.

Default Dead threads

Bummer that just barely into our own area and half th threads are dead, incomplete.

I know life comes up and such, but Brick warned all of us! I'm just asking one small thing for the original posters: Let us know when you're going away? You don't even have to give a reason, but let us know so that we don't incessently check the forum every ten minutes hoping for the next addition...

Well, I'm interested in picking Legend of Mana back up, either with a restart or with SpoonyGundam's save file. Does that count as a new one that needs to be queued, do you think, or what?

I'd count is as one already in progress, I assume you'd just start posting in the same thread right?

The way I see it, you restarting or rebooting his thread doesn't add any threads to this forum, so it's not cluttering anything up - go for it.

Hit it, nunix! Hit it until it rings like a bell!

I'd like to see you use Spoony's save, but do what you like.

Okay, it's running again. SG was playing on a different platform so I just used the LP to rebuild back to the same spot (he did a good job! was easy to do). I don't know as much of the nuts-and-bolts of the game but he'd mentioned he'd be happy to jump in and comment on all of that, so hopefully it'll wind up being a sorta-collaborative effort in that way (in addition to the Tyrants' input) and still be fun.

Two days later, nobody seems to object to my taking FyreLuigi's spot, nor has anyone jumped in to take the spot in my stead. I guess the relevant question now is what the proper protocol is for someone giving up their place in the queue. Does the spot vacated become an open spot for any bystander to take, or does the rest of the queue shift forward to fill the vacuum? If it's the latter, I really don't want to jump the line, but if it's the former I'm fully prepared to go now.

I've now collected the screenshots for my first post and will begin uploading them and drafting the post immediately. I'll check here again first thing tomorrow to see if anyone has raised any objections to my starting. If not, I'll create the thread and begin my Let's Play of Star Control II.

Moving people forward wouldn't be good since some people picked the start date based on their own free time, rather than going for the first spot available. I think a good policy for such things in the future could be only someone on the proposed games be allowed to fill a slot, just so there aren't too many spontaneous (and quickly abandoned) LPs.

But I don't really care. :3

All right, it's done. I'm going to post it. I haven't heard anything really positive or negative on this. I'd feel a bit more confident if there were at least some confirmation that I wasn't about to get my butt kicked for queue jumping.

I don't see why you would get shut down - you did ask (repeatedly) if you could take the open spot, no one objected, and it's still in the 2/week limit. All by the book in my opinion.

I don't know if I should start or not. There seems to be quite a lot still running, and a bunch just started. I don't want to be that guy who overcrowds the board. What do we think?

I say go for it - the queue's there and your name was on it, so no-one can fault you starting in your time slot. Besides, there're always slow days for LPs during the week for you to squeeze in your updates if you feel like being totally considerate. Or you could be a smart badger and listen up;

Some nasty crap has come up for me in the coming three weeks (during/after my exams and all, not helping my stress levels!), and as much as I'd like to do my LP anyway, I couldn't honestly say it'd be without hitch or delay. It'd be a lot fairer if the slot was given to someone who'll be in the mood for it more often, and will have the time I thought I would have.
So if'n no-one objects, I guess dosboot could leave it a week if he so wishes, or someone could bring theirs forward. The space is up for grabs, anyways.

Actually, if you want do you want to switch places with me? I've been thinking about starting on my LP soon anyway (well, as much as I could, given what I have planned), so this works well for me. I'll gladly cede the spot if anyone else wants to start up, however.

@dosboot: If you're ready to go, then go ahead. Though I can't speak for him, Parish did say he cared more about the quality of the threads than the quantity a while back*, so if you have it all planned out and know you can keep it going then there's no reason to worry.

*Though this was a while back and he might've changed his opinion during the period, but that's beside the point.
