Yeah, I think the LPs are starting to come into their own now that we've got a forum for them. I'd definitely like to see some more.

I made a habit of playing the game for 30~60 minutes each night and then making a write-up every morning Monday through Friday. I think keeping yourself to some sort of a schedule like that keeps you from fizzling out on doing the LP; the frequency isn't nearly as important as the regularity.

I soooooo want to roll up a Persona 2: Eternal Punishment game. I realized this today.

I do have a bit of technical issues to work on, probably. But if I can get it started, I'm set. Probably.

I've been working out how to do my BG2 run for awhile now, it's been difficult because the sheer amount of potential audience participation could really slow it down. I have some ideas of how to kludge it a bit, but I will probably wait till I finish my FES shit before I do it for real.

Often enough that the thread doesn't die and that people aren't begging you for updates, but not so often that people don't have time to discuss each update.

If you're not going to need a lot of audience participation, you can always do the write-ups in advance (which is how I did it). I managed about two updates a day (give or take) but I didn't actually play Final Fantasy every single day.

I'm planning to start my thread either Wednesday or late tomorrow. We'll see. The game is short, so it will go by quickly.

We haven't even gotten through the rest of the backlog and we've already got some people who are asking for seconds? Color me impressed.

Anyway, I know I wasn't going to start anytime soon, but I seem to have run into a problem with my copy of Fallout, where it errors out whenever I go down to confront the Master. This has the side effect of making the game completely unwinnable! Who could have guessed?

I've got a few options, at least one of which I was considering anyway, but I'm thinking I may hold off even longer!

By the way, based on what people are saying, are we still limiting how many LPs we have going on at once? I mean, it's not like we have to worry about pushing other, non-LP threads off the board now. Not that I'm saying everyone should start at once, of course.

Honestly? I don't think the limiting matters anymore. Before we weren't sure if people could keep theirs going, or were worried that they would keep bumping each other off the page, but now that we've got a forum and people have proven that they can keep going it's not so much of a problem now.

So yeah. If you want to go, then go right ahead.

I have to admit I'm actually starting to get a bit overwhelmed with the number of LPs happening at once now. Let's see some restraint, people!

I don't know. I think I'm gonna hold off on mine a tiny bit. We've got roughly 30,000 going right now. 30,001 would be overkill.

I'd still like to see a "general LP guidelines" in the first post.

And re: updates: At least one a day, 5 days a week, plus a reply or two to conversation. Otherwise, why bother using this format? Better off just maknig blog posts somewhere.

I'm going with TheSL on this one - consistency is much more important that frequency. Even if it's only once in a while, a reader's much more likely to follow something if they don't have to check back repeatedly for updates. There's also the fact that not everyone has the same amount of free time, so it would be better for the writers to set their own schedules to avoid conflicting with other priorities.

I learned that the hard way when trying and failing to keep up the too-fast pace I set at the beginning.

I'll have to see if work is really going to be the hell it seemed to be a week ago before I commit to starting. If it isn't, I could probably start up next weekend assuming the LPs that seemed to have died off really have. Because I'll also admit that since my game doesn't have the recognizability for most here that many other games would, I'd like to catch the "I can only read two LPs at a time" people.

I'm not too busy these days, which means I'm going to die of starvation. But before I go, I'd really like to leave behind a Let's Play once the gears get moving again.

juanfrugalj already called Mega Man X and X2, which is too bad because I was seriously jonseing for X. Can I get X3? I know nobody loves it, but...but I do.

So is there a limit right now after all? I'd like to go right ahead if there isn't (that is, eight hours from now after I get off work) Because Parish is saying no LPs for a while but then I see some more starting and I'm completely confused.

I have a fabulous gimmick that might make my Pokemon Yellow LP interesting, or at least differentiate it from others just a little bit if it works out well.

The new ones (Legend of Mana and Mega Man are the latest, unless I'm mistaken) were started before the moratorium came into effect. Did I make this post simply for a chance to use the word moratorium? Possibly.

Parish started his thread about controlling the LP threads after the new ones started. Soo...maybe, just maybe it would be better to wait ;-)

EDIT: Damn, I need an avatar...

EDIT2: Fixed.

Aw, don't feel like a jerk, you got first choosies...or...whatever.

If you'd like me to take X off your hands, I'd love that. I know the game like the back of my hand. Hey, what's this big pulsating lump?

First time I played Mega Man X, the very first Maverick I beat was Storm Eagle--without the dash. I plan to re-create the experience.

Sure, go ahead. I'm still a little busy this week, anyway.

Hey, I did that too!

So far, the only ideas I had for the first X game were doing a wacky route (including Storm Eagle without the leg upgrade), the refinery bug, and a video of my 1:58 run through the mines.

Anyway, at the very least it gives time to think of a clever way to do my X2 thread.

Honestly I'm surprised that nobody Tomm seems to have called EarthBound yet Tomm. Once people started planting flags I figured Tomm that would be one of the earliest ones to go. Maybe somebody Tomm will step up to the plate once Parish puts the hammer away.

...Wha? I could have sworn I saw the thread first and then some new threads popped up afterwards. My eyes seem to be playing tricks on me...

Well, I'm sorry to ask "can I go?" for the third time. I can wait, and this will actually give me a lot of time to think up some new ideas.

I know we have no "official queue", but the unofficial one I was keeping in my head was FyreLuigi, dosboot, then me. (I didn't keep track after myself because The World Ends With Me(tm))

I think I called S3&K a while back. It could be fun showing people the more exploratory focus it has compared to the first two games, especially when you take the different character specific routes into consideration. Maybe one Let's Play with all three characters' games detailed?

I'm in no hurry to start, though. I'm digging the one's we've got going now more than enough.
