I propose a video Let's Play of The Little Mermaid for NES. No doubt.

Well, Ogre Battle 64 is done. I'd like to reserve Ocarina of Time while I still can. I don't want to start on it until 2009, at least. I want some time to get a handle on using video in an LP so I can record certain sections of the game. I also want some time off because the past three months have been FRIGGIN BONKERS.
But trust me; 2009 is going to be a hell of a year. |

I believe I am ready: FFVI on October 26th.

You are a madman, Torgo.
(You realize we're going to end up sticking you with like Gogo, Umaro, Mog, and Gau at every opportunity, right? Of course, one of the nice things about FFVI is you can still destroy things with parties like that if you play it smart.) |

Gau is like the strongest guy in the game, especially if we're talking SNES version. Mog is also super awesome (Dragon Horn + Dragoon Boots anyone?)

I like Umaro; I'd pick him over Relm, Setzer, or Strago.
Or Gogo, or Mog... Or Sabin |

I'm glad that I started playing this before you - I've been jonesing to play FF III (as we call it) with fresh eyes, and I never would have been able to resist reading your LP.
And getting stuck with Mog all the time? You should be so lucky! (I love Mog so much). Gau is also very strong, although I don't use him because I hate the way he talks - see also: Kimahri. EDIT: Zithuan is wrong, Setzer is wicked. Get this man some loaded dice, stat! |

The best part of FFVI is that almost anyone is awesome if you equip them right. Mog as a Dragoon, Setzer with the Loaded Dice and Offering, Strago and the Economizer, Wind God Gau, Terra and the Atma Weapon and genji Glove. No wonder this is my favorite Final Fantasy.

Relm, Edgar, Celes, Locke. That's what I usually choose.

4 Moogle Suits as soon as possible
Also, what is everyone's strategy for taking on Chupon in the coliseum? |

Everyone in FFVI is awesome. There is no wrong choice.

Sabin is my least favorite because his street fighter moves always fail on me. |

I hate Mog so much. Hogs the spotlight way too much for someone who's 100% optional and joins the group at +5 level. He's a plush Mary Sue. And Dance is another stupid Rage ability but less reliable. I named my girl kitten Gau. She's adorable. :3 |

Guys, Mog's Dance ability is not the best way to use him. Make him a fuzzy Kain v.2 . You'll be much happier.
Also Sabin's Bum's Rush Blitz for beginners: up, up, right, right, down, down, left, left, up, A. There ya go. |

No Shadow love? Granted, Throw isn't the best ability around (at least, not for the latter half of the game), but I like 'em still. The backstory he gets from his dreams make for interesting character development, and the Genji Glove + Striker + Stunner combo can be devastating at times, making him a mainstay for my party whenever I can fit him in.

Everyone does that the first time around.
I didn't pay much attention to Shadow on the SNES, but Interceptor's success rate seems to have been improved for the GBA version (at the cost of lowering a successful Dance from 95 to about 20%. AUGH!) The ability to Throw endless Ragnaroks is also the stuff dreams are made of. And, dammit, Sabin's good I can pull off his Blitzes with 99% accuracy, especially on the DS, and I just can't say no to someone who can suplex a runaway train and lift and hold up a house. |

I liked Shadow, but there are a lot of characters I liked more. But yeah he needs a Genji Glove to be awesome, makes me wish he had the ninja job ability dual-wield instead of Throw.
Other characters that should have GG's: Terra, Cyan, Locke. |

Shadow was restored to awesomeness by the GBA remake. His evade stat plus Interceptor makes him crazy. Also, I don't think I realized before how good Shurikens are. You just buy 99 of them and never use Fight again. |

I've never been comfortable with throwing money away in combat. Throw? Nope. Coin toss? No thanks. Bribe? Absolutely not. Even if money isn't in short supply in the least.

You're only making FFV hard on yourself then.

See, that was exactly why I didn't discover until recently that shurikens are so amazing in FF6. I even gave throw to Gogo because it is that strong.

I have no problem with Throw but I've never used Gil Toss just because it was throwing way too much cash. Oh and FFV isn't too bad without but then I've grinded my job levels a little too high. However Shinryu and Ultima Weapon were really easy once I redid my equipped jobs and skills.

Everyone, everyone. Save this until October 26th!
Edgar/Locke/Setzer/Celes ftw, Shadow gets an honorable mention |

Edgar, Terra, Mog, Sabin |
