I actually still have a pristine boxed copy of the CD release of this game.
Thanks. And since I play it every year, I think it holds up pretty well. If nothing else the hand-drawn segments are beautiful, and the music's great. I actually owned it twice, once in the original disk form as a gift, and then I bought the CD version when I came across it years later and had lost my disks and was reinstalling it from the "freeware" version.

If you're going to start at thread for an LP and have to start immediately, then fine, at least post here and ask first, but otherwise please follow the rules we've collectively set so we can keep the subforum from overflowing.

And yes, I know I made a bit of a loophole for video LPs a while back with Alixsar's thread, but with video LP threads now becoming standard I'm closing that one up quick-like. If you're running a video LP and want to start a thread for people to follow, then please try to abide by the queue as well.

Anyway, the threads that have started can keep running as they are, but otherwise any LP starting as to go through the queue (unless alternate arrangements have been made via discussion/PM, in which case an exemption may be made). All right? Thank you.

(I just want to stress that this isn't aimed at any one person - rather, I'm just nipping this one in the bud before it becomes a problem. Nevertheless, my point stands.)
I figured I was going to make someone mad with that lack of notice...

Sorry, I know I gave no notice except for the post, then immediate creation of topic, but not only did I have this LP running off site for awhile, but I didn't see it on the list either. I will do so in the future though. Sorry again.

By the way. Can I reserve a spot for Phantasy Star Online 1&2 Plus? Like I said in the JFG LP, I plan on getting a tv tuner in the immediate future, and that will probably be the very first thing I LP from my cashe of upper-level console games.

It's fine, don't worry about it. As I said, this wasn't directed at just one person - queue-jumping's been going on for a while, even though sparsely, and the reason I pounced was because it didn't seem like it was going to end anytime soon. As it is, so long as you clear your LPs with me beforehand, there shouldn't be any problems.

Anyway, you wanted Phantasy Star Online Ep. I & II, right? I'll add you to the list right away.

PLUS, there's a difference with offline material. I believe it has one extra offline mission and several new obtainable offline items.

I'm 99% certain that nobody's called dibs on it, so I'd like to lay claim to The Legend of Kyrandia, an old PC adventure game from 1993 (but just the first one; Hand of Fate I might also do if people like the LoK one, but I can't do Malcolm's Revenge since I don't have it).

On top of being extremely obscure, the game's also pretty funny, even if there's almost as many ways to die as there are in a Roberta Williams game. Any complaints if I do a screenshot LP of it?

Hm, I see. Didn't realize there's a queue. Sorry. It'd help if you put the queue notice right on the first post of the topic, though.

Noted. I'll have to try and work around the character limit, which I seem to have hit the upper limit thereof in the OP...

Have everyone who's got proposed games up there to either name a time they want to do it, or it gets cleared. Some of those are from when the thread launched, and the claimers have gone into severe lurk-mode since then. Give everyone a week to chime in, and then wipe whatever's left.

EDIT: Also, Fantasy Empires isn't in "in progress", why you gotta snub. =(

I'd really rather not force a person to drop a claim if I can help it, but I guess a clean-up is overdue. I'll try and see if I can work out a way to do this that's fair, maybe start a clean-up thread on December 1 for people to notice.

Didn't mean to! Having to sort through and keep track of that many links makes you see blind sometimes. :/

EDIT: Wait, are we seeing the same thread? It looks like it's in the right category to me.

OR, you could resubmit this thread, segment the first post in two, and close this one. This does already have several pages to it. A nice refresh if you will.

Whatever you decide to do for cleanup, I suggest you also add a "READ ME FIRST" type notice to the front of the thread title both here and at the FAQ thread, and a "BEFORE YOU START YOUR THREAD" type notice at the very -top- of the first post in this thread. One of the reasons you're getting queue jumping is that people relatively new to the forums can't tell from a glance at this sub-forum that there are guidelines in place.

If Gredlen hadn't warned me, I would've queue-jumped quite accidentally even -after- reading the first post in this thread, because it's not immediately obvious that the list has a queue. It may seem crass to smack those sort of all-caps messages up, but it really does help to catch people's attention.

We seem to be getting a lot of new people coming in and starting LPs as soon as possible. I'm starting to think we're getting traffic as 'the place for good LPs which you don't have to pay for'.

Don't have to pay for? I've never heard of an LP that cost money...

As in the place that invented the LP as a format, Something Awful, charges people to join the site and start threads. It also charges more to view archived threads. We don't have either of those restrictions here.

Oh yeah, that place. I love the SA Let's Play archives. Timeless classics are enshrined within, like the Animal Crossing: Wild World one. It's a great source for inspiration if you want to break away from the usual LP methods a bit.

It's free to lurk SA, though. That's what I've been doing for like the past six months!

And don't forget this one, the site that reveals less than half the finished LPs on the site are archived.

I think that I would like to give The Fool's Errand a go. Just put me down at the end of the queue.

Now I have to decide whether I want to play by showing off all the answers, or by making my audience guess at the solutions for a few days and advancing only when they get it right or they get bored.

This is the right answer, right here. That is pretty much the perfect LP for audience participation.

Frig yes! On a related note, I was hoping on doing Final Fantasy Legend, myself, someday. Assuming I can ever drudge up the force of will needed to finish playing Deadly Towers.

Deadly Towers may well be the LP that beats me.

That's because you haven't started your LP of it. Them. Whatever.
