M'yeah, if you're looking for someone to puzzle their way through the mindboggling stupidity that is Shadowgate's puzzles, keep looking. I played through that sucker often enough that I don't even need to see the screen to beat it.

Humana to get past the second Troll, the Star from the Observatory to beat the Dragon, wear a glove to get the flute or your hand will burn off, Bottle 2 lets you pass the rickety bridge, and I could deign to go on, but I believe my point stands...

Now, the Uninvited, THAT I've never played, but wanted to.

I really would not recommend it -- it's even more nonsensical than Shadowgate. Deja Vu would be a better choice.

Man I could write up a Shadowgate LP in a weekend. But I won't.

I could probably do a video LP in three installments; two for the game, one to showcase all the deaths. (But I won't.)

(Well maybe I'll do just the death thing.)

(Set to Benny Hill music.)

Nah, Shadowgate's worse. Well, at least in that you die every few seconds for no apparent reason.

Yes, but Shadowgate has somewhat easier puzzles, and less action at a distance.

Wasn't having to read "epor" twice obvious to you?

For either game, I'd be curious to see the computer versions -- I understand they have a bit more content (like the goblin room in Shadowgate) and somewhat different writing.

Not sure what you mean by action at a distance, but I'd say the puzzles are about equal in the two games.

The writing is a lot more detailed. That happens when you aren't constrained for space. Deja Vu is almost exactly the same in content as is Uninvited in the beginning (aside from the whole Ruby thing).

At one point I was all set to do a Shadowgate LP but someone at that other site had already done it exactly how I was going to do it, by demonstrating all the amusing ways to die.

Someone really needs to get on doing an LP of Urban Yeti, else the LP phenomenon will be considered a miserable failure. You don't want that on your concience, do you guys?

Other request ideas:
-Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
-Graffiti Kingdom
-The Misadventures of Tron Bonne
-Rocket Knight Adventures

More ideas as they come to me, perhaps?

I think Seisen would be a better choice as there's more, uhh, choice, and it'd be hard to get across how brutal Thracia is in a Let's Play. They're both great games though and would pair nicely, really.

(On the other hand Seisen is like 50 hours long on its own)

I don't know. It's clearly a sasquatch, not a yeti, so that's a point off right there. Also does it really have LP quality, or should someone just record a video and be done with it?

"So, as you can see in this level, I've lost all of my party members from before, all the new allies are mounted units without their mounts, we don't have any weapons equipped, there's a never ending stream of enemies coming in from the exits, and the only character capable of opening doors is constantly being captured because she can't equip any weapons to fight back."

What's really fun is doing that level while doing the optional goal that unlocks the bonus chapter. Even if you abuse the AI so the armored guys at the end pick up all the kids, it's still hard as hell to actually make it out of there in one piece. The "HIT" numbers lie like a dog in that game.

Also great is having your mages get all fatigued at inopportune times.

I like seeing turn based strategy games LPed. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 on high difficulties perhaps?

Sure. Turn-based games usually tend to make for good long-form LPs, so the more on the list the merrier.

It's a rare, bizarre game that's supposedly annoying to play but is filled to the brim with off-the-wall humour and personality - sounds like LP material to me. A screenshot LP of it would be sublime, especially to show off the photoshopped stills the game has in abundance.

Lord, that sounds horrific. Stories like these are probably why I'm interested in seeing it done, to be honest - I've heard a lot of good things about Thracia 776 (up to and including it being referred to as the best game in the series) but the difficulty of the game has all but scared me off. Being able to see the game done without having to suffer through all that would be win-win (well, except for the person writing the LP maybe).

So that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle..

Queue request: Put me down for Fantasy Empires for the next open week, please. Also, under Proposed Games for "Quest for Glory 1-3". (I've been mulling a QFG LP for months and months now, and think I have a half-decent way to run it that isn't just a dang video).

EDIT: Thanks Reel! (it's such an effort to not shorten your name to "Pap", every dang time)

Legacy of the Wizard has been quite an... experience, and I think my next LP will be something kinder, gentler and less ruthless. Please put me under proposed games for Nethack.

I humbly request Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. I've only seen the first couple hours of the game, just enough to really get into the story, not enough to see anything actually resolved. I'm terrible at actiony games so this is my only hope of seeing the rest of it.

So thanks to Gredlen's efforts, I figured out how to get video recording/encoding/uploading succesfully. I'm ready to start Starfox 64 at any time. I already have the first video complete, but it's a bit on the boring side so I'm going to re-shoot it. I'm off work early tomorrow and I will have time to redo it tomorrow night, so I can start essentially at any time. Papillion, you're both informally in charge of the queue and in charge of the SNES Star Fox LP, so set me up for a date to start.

My current plan is to play through the game twice: one route of TT's choosing, and another of my own choosing. I was hoping to do the TT-reader-route first so as to not limit people's choices when they're selecting levels for me, but if you're going to take a while to finish the Starfox LP then I'm just going to go ahead with my own route first and then I can wait to upload them all until you're done. Or something. I dunno. Just give me a date and I'll make it work. Sooner would be better than later.

Edit: Erm...possibly I spoke too soon. I just went and viewed the version of my video on Youtube, and the quality is...poor, to say the least. It looks perfectly fine when I view it on my computer, but the guys at Youtube did...something to it. I'm gonna fiddle around with this for a bit. I'm almost there, though! I think the problem is that I sized the video at 320x240, but I think Youtube actually runs at a bit higher resolution than that. I'm gonna resize it and try it again. Hopefully that will work and then I'll be good to go again. I have to be at work early tomorrow so I need to go get some sleep, but I'm off early so hopefully I'll have this fixed tomorrow night.

Cheerfully withdrawn, I meant more that we're both taking punishingly difficult games. Which is fine, I suppose. More that I don't have to play.

Err... except for Nightshade. That's pretty breezy when you know what you're doing.

Man, I had a great idea for a Let's Play this morning. The host plays through Section-Z...and at the end of each stage, freezes the game and lets the forum decide which route to take. Together, everyone would slowly map the route to the end.

If only I had time for it amidst my million actual projects.

Feel free to start any time - video LPs aren't really bound by the queue (since they're hosted off-site and not many video LPs run at once, there wouldn't be as much competition), and Star Fox won't be ending for a little while now. So go right ahead!

While on the topic of claims, requests and queueing...

I'm going through a big, big Fire Emblem kick right now, and I think I'd like to give LPing Sword of Seals a shot sometime in the future. I've already played through FE7 and 8, so knowledge of the game's workings won't be too much of a problem. So... yeah. I call dibs.

Like I said, I'm going through a big Fire Emblem kick at the moment. :P As I see it happening, I should be able to manage a 3/week schedule for BL for the next while now that I'm back in the swing of things, meaning it should end in roughly 6 weeks when the queue opens up. Well, barring any major catastrophes, of course (though that would just mean it taking an extra week or two , really). As for Star Fox, it's basically a non-problem, as writing updates for that are easy as pie due to the bite-size nature of the game, and I can update it alongside BL without missing a beat. So don't worry about it - I've got everything covered.
