Epithet is up again, then Lucas. Once they've both passed, we move on Round One's Status Phase! In which we do the following: 1. Each player may claim ONE Public Objective they qualify for, as well as their Secret Objective, if they qualify for it; if any player reaches 10 points during this step, he or she wins immediately 2. Damaged ships are repaired 3. Command Counters on the board are removed to each player's reinforcements 4. Planets are refreshed 5. Each player receives 1 Action Card and 2 Command Counters 6. Command Counters may be redistributed between the Command Pool, Strategy Allocation and Fleet Supply 7. Strategy Cards are returned, and the game proceeds to a new Strategy Phase This round you really only have to deal with steps 1, 4, 5 and 6. Everything else either doesn't apply this round, requires physical pieces to matter or is something I'll take care of in the map file. There are no Public Objectives yet, but make sure to check and see if you do/can qualify for your Secret Objective. Probably not, but it's possible! Claiming points is typically done in player order (this can be crucial, as the first player to reach 10 wins immediately), but with everyone at 1 point we're not in danger of anyone winning yet, so claim at will once the phase starts. |

Playing to 10 victory points? The rulebook does recommend that the game be played to one fewer VP (9 in the standard game) when using the Bureaucracy Strategy Card, though...

But seriously, if anyone would rather play to 9 than 10, speak up. I'd mentioned 10 points in the prep thread before deciding on which cards to use and opted not to change it when I went with Bureaucracy. |

I've got a question about scoring. Do you have to maintain the condition on the objective, or simply have it during the Status phase once and then you can forget about it?

You simply have to obtain the objectives once, and you put a Control Marker on it to show that you have done it. For Public Objectives you just say you've completed whichever one, and for Secret Objectives you reveal the card then do the same. There are Political Cards (I think) that wipe objectives clear of Control Markers, so a player could obtain them twice.
The question I have is about Secret Objectives, if they are revealed are they then open for anyone to complete as well? |

For the Action Card, do you want us to do the RNG and grab an Action Card, or do we wait for you to send them to us in turn order? Also, what about the Political Cards we're discarding for resources? Go ahead and grab your own Action Cards, and post the numbers of the cards you grabbed in case we end up with duplicated from two players getting the same one at the same time or something. Unlikely, but possible. Remember to cut, not copy, the card name from the list. Do like this:
I draw Action Card 104. L1Z1X draws Action Card 54. I think it's really unlikely we'll get through the Political Cards; there's no reason I see to keep track of what you ditch, or to announce what you discard. If we run through the whole deck I'll just re-post the full list, but there's about 90 cards in there. I think there's an Action Card that lets you choose a Political Card, but that can be done with the reference list. Also, I was thinking since L1Z1X are on "AI" mode, maybe they should choose last? I'm playing two races here, and don't want it to seem like I'm taking advantage by poaching useful things. To that end, actually, I'll let you all in on how the L1Z1X will act until and unless someone else picks them up: They will expand as much as they can and fortify themselves, but won't attack directly. They'll also abstain from votes. I'll draw Action Cards for them but won't check what they are. Same for Political Cards unless they're selected to play one.
