TIIIIIIIIIIME WAAAAAARP

Googleshng asked me to post up his PDS fire results if severian didn't rethink, so here they are:

8, 9, 1 = 2 hits

So that's two casualties. As we're taking a trip back to severian's action previous to `Hrist's, he can proceed with further steps of the activation sequence if he wishes.

severian's right. The move is legal, and no trade agreements will be broken unless he actually blows up a ship or invades a planet.

All dice rolls in the game are d10.

We wish you hadn't done that. More importantly, you will wish you hadn't done that very soon.

Removing 2 fighters.

UNITS (Deployed/Total)
Space Docks: 1/3, Darien x1
Ground Forces: Arinam x1, Meer x1, Centauri x1, Gral x1, Mirage x2
Shock Troops: 0
PDS: 1/6, Darien x1
Fighters: Mirage x2
Carriers: 2/4, Mirage x2
Destroyers: 1/8, Mirage x1
Cruisers: 1/8, Darien x1
Dreadnoughts: 3/5, Darien x2, Mirage x1
War Suns: 0/2

We change our mind on the whole non invading tactic, since you aren't playing nice. Dropping a GF on Mirage.

PLANETS (Resources/Influence)
Darien – 2/4
Arinam - 1/2, Blue Tech Specialty
Meer - 0/4
Centauri - 1/3
Gral - 1/1, Blue Tech Specialty
Tar'Mann - 1/1
Usis - 2/2
Velnor - 2/0, Red Tech Specialty
Mirage - 1/2, Fighters

We sever our Trade Contract with the academic backstabbers.

Trade Contracts
Yin 1 open to anyone.
Yin 1 to Lucas in exchange for Mentak 1

I believe this is legal, since the PDS fire comes before the Invasion step. I did declare that I wasn't going to invade, but that was before he shot down two of my fighters. If there's an issue, I'll cancel it.

That's legal. Planetary landings are step 5, PDS fire is step 3.

We'll activate secondary, and exhaust Meer for 2 cc's. They will go into Command Pool. I'll post the numbers a bit later.

Sarc, that's a whole lot of counters in Fleet Supply...

I'll spend Torkan, Dal Bootha, and Xxehan for six influence to buy 3 CCs from the Leadership secondary, putting two in my strategy pool and one in fleet supply.

GAH! Major miscommunications all around here!

Any PDS hits should be directed to the Fighters.

OK, see... this right here? This is totally why I was trying to throw the breaks on here and have some retroactive discussion. I'd totally rather have just let you through there with no PDS fire or hostilities starting if I had known that A- It was actually possible to move into a system with troops like that without automatically invading it, and B- You had the ability to use Warfare to move that stuff on through and not block me off.

Me passing along rolls to Sarc in PM, that was so that it wouldn't come off like I was getting an unfair advantage retroactively deciding to fire when I next got on, if this conversation which was/is getting spread across like 18 hours of real time took so long to complete that a bunch of people took their turns in between AND it was revealed that my interpretation of the rules was correct, and you were forced to invade me by moving there, THEN and only then, would I try and shoot you down... and even then, that was only on the assumption that I actually had the option of shooting down the ground troops as they were landing, keeping my planet and letting you carry on with whatever you were doing that required a temporary trade agreement breach.

So... short version... can we back this whole deal up again, and in the future, please discuss complicated plans like this before putting them into effect so there's less room for this sort of thing? Because gah, so totally not how I intended this to go down here.

Shorter version of all that: Dude, wait, no. Everything I've said, anywhere since Sev's turn was an elaborate version of "Wait wait wait, before anyone does anything else, I need clarification on what's going on here.

Actually yeah. As of just before you jumped in with that revision to what I was doing that I didn't actually want to make, and Sev then had to jump in and revise what he was doing in response to that, everything was as it should be. He moves in, nobody shoots anybody, no invasion happens, no trade breached, he plans to move along soon and I can go along with what I was planning to do later, and all is happy and wonderful.

So... theoretically we can just ignore half this page and everyone can work out what they're doing with strategy secondaries. I might be a bit on that though because oh hey, I seem to have a medical problem going on here.

We're perfectly fine with resuming our friendship with the nice academics. We magically find a couple fighters in the unused hanger bay to replace the ones that disappeared. Good thing we converted the starboard side to a museum before the Cylons hit...

I'm heading back to the laptop and will update my sheet then. Hope you're alright dude.

All right, all's fixed. Based on what you'd stated when putting your PDS units down (anyone activating a system in range gets a face full of lasers) and what you wrote to my by PM, it didn't seem as if a planetary invasion plan was a prerequisite to firing, just moving within range of your territory was.

A big part of the misunderstanding here was that Google didn't realize that activation doesn't automatically mean invasion, I think. He seemed to believe that a carrier always had to put its ground forces down on a planet after moving.

Man, hope you're ok, Googleshng.

That makes sense, although I noted it was optional when I went over the activation rules on the first page. Still, Googleshng DID have to take it on faith that he wouldn't be invaded if he didn't fire, as PDS fire (at ships) happens before planetary landings/invasion combat (he could still have fired at invading troops, though).

Sorry your wrist is giving you trouble, Googleshng. My wife gets some milder trouble from time to time, and it's never fun.

The Embers of Muaat must reconsolidate their command structure after the disastrous loss of Death Star #1 in orbit around Yavin Mecatol Rex, along with Grand Moff Tarkin Captain Bob. As such, I'm tapping Coorneeq, Lesab, and spending a Trade Good to puchase two CCs, both of which are going into Strategy Allocation.

"Trading spaces? What's that?" "The idea, sir, is that family A redecorates a room in the home of family B..." "Ah, I understand the principle. So you're saying that by applying this ancient lesson, we can efficiently swap elements of two adjacent fleets?" "Precisely!" "Bomber! Engage that planet dance!"

Executing a Transfer action between El'nath and Lesab. The Destroyer from Lesab is moving to El'nath, and the Carrier, Fighters, and Ground Forces are moving to Lesab. I'll land the GF on Lesab for safe-keeping.

Note to self: in future games, acquire XRD Transporters as early as possible.

You should actually have 2 activations, since you take a second CC from reinforcements to activate the second system in a Transfer Action (and yes, that means if you're somehow maxed out on CCs, you can't do a Transfer Action).

One other thing: You can also build in one (not both) of the systems, so if you want to make a Space Dock in Lesab or El'Nath, now is a good time.
