Now that the battle's going and you've both rolled for the first round it's probably not fair to. Sorry for not clarifying earlier (my original notes on STs do say they die first in battle, but don't point out that PDS fire doesn't take place during combat).

I don't really care either way. Everything of mine dies this first round.

All right, then. If you want to swap out a no-hit GF for a no-hit ST, `Hrist, go ahead.

Alright, this is a thing I will do...
My 2 GFs and 1 Shock Trooper capture Abyz along with its PDS and Space Dock for the glorious forces of the Space Vampiredom. |

You already have three Space Docks on the board, so you can't take over this one, but the PDS is yours.

Now that all that nonsense is done with, we get our turn again! We activate Arinam/Meer, and move my crusier loaded with 4 GF's and 2 Fighters. Egarwaen gets his Anti Fighter Barrage, then can declare a cowardly retreat.
COMMAND COUNTERS Command Pool: 3 Strategy Allocation: 3 Fleet Supply: 7 Activations: 2 Total in play: 15/16 UNITS (Deployed/Total) Space Docks: 2/3, Darien x1, Tar’Mann x1 Ground Forces: Centauri x1, Gral x1, East Wormhole x2, Arinam/Meer x4 Shock Troops: 0 PDS: 2/6, Darien x2 Fighters: East Wormhole x4, Arinam/Meer x2 Carriers: 3/4, East Wormhole x2, Arinam/Meer x1 Destroyers: 3/8, East Wormhole x1, Darien x2 Cruisers: 0/8, Dreadnoughts: 3/5, , Darien x2, East Wormhole x1 War Suns: 0/2 Units (Location) Darien: Space Dock x1, PDS x2 Arinam/Meer Space: GF x4, Carrier x1, Fighter x2 Centauri: GF x1 Gral: GF x1 East Wormhole: GF x2, Fighter x4, Destroyer x1, Carrier x2, Dreadnought x1 Tar’Mann: Dreadnought x2, Destroyer x2 And below are my rolls. If there are hits on the fighters, cap the last one first (I'm actually rolling in reverse order, so the one(s) who die(s) would not have been my first roll). Fighters hit on an 8, and Carrier on a 9. Carrier: 10 Fighter 2: 10 Fighter 1: 5. Dead anyway. If there are two hits from Barrage, and one from normal battle, I will lose a GF. |

Friendly Fire: Play immediately before a space battle you are participating in. If your opponent has more Fighters than non-Fighter ships in the contested system, half of the fighters (rounded down) are immediately destroyed.
I believe you have two Fighters and a Carrier, eh? Should've watched those shots more closely, Maverick. And now my anti-fighter barrage: 2, 3 ( ) And my first round of combat: 8. (Hits courtesy of Hylar V.) So... I kill both of your fighters, you kill the Destroyer, and then you commence the attack? Edit: Also, I don't believe you can take GFs as casualties in a space battle. You're probably right re: GF's. Risky maneuver, but it paid off!
We invade both of our planets, two GF's per. One of our special abilities is Propoganda! on a roll of 5+, before invading we successfully talk an enemy's GF into seeing our side of the battle. We replace the enemy GF with one of ours from stock. First Roll: 1 Second Roll: 2. You are strong to my wily ways. Invasion! let's do Arinam first. GF's hit on an 8 I believe. 7, 9. One down. Meer next! 8, 10. Again! Roll your bones! |

Yep, GFs can't be taken as casualties in space battles; they don't actually participate in them at all. Cargo can't fight!
Actually, the Yin's flagship in the expansion allows their GF to participate as Fighters, so there actually is a case in which taking GFs as casualties would work. But not in this game. |

OK. Now that I've plugged those holes, I'm going to finally conclude my studies of this weirdo alien homeworld, and in the spirit of mutual let's-be-nice-and-not-stab-each-other-in-the-backery, let Sarc go back to building stuff on his home planet again.
Activating Vega Mehar Xull, moving almost everything over from Jord along with a destroyer from Jol/Nar. And since it's the only hole left in my border wall of ships, and I've frankly colonized enough planets that I don't have much else use for it at this point... Also activating Mate, and plugging it up with this carrier, 2 of the fighters, and a dreadnought from Jol/Nar. COMMAND COUNTERS Command Pool: 1 Strategy Allocation: 1 Fleet Supply: 5 Activations: 7 Jol/Nar - Space Dock x1, Destroyer x1 Starpoint/New Albion - Space Dock x1, Ground Forces x2, PDS x1 (Starpoint), Cruiser x2 Mehar Xull - PDS x1, War Sun x1, Fighter x2, Dreadnought x1, Ground Forces x8 (4 on Major, 4 on Minor), Destroyer x1 Mirage - PDS x1, Dreadnought x1, Cruiser x1, Fighter x2 Tsion/Bellatrix - PDS x1 Sumerian/Arcturus - War Sun x1, Fighter x2, Dreadnought x2, Carrier x1, Ground Forces x1 Bandwagon - Cruiser x2 Capha - Destroyer x1 Ion Storm (East) - Destroyer x1 Mate: Carrier x1, Fighter x2, Dreadnought x1 Last edited by Googleshng; 08-25-2011 at 12:43 AM. |

You moved those off the planets, I thought, when you moved all your stuff to Jord? Why didn't you mention this before?
EDIT: Yep, here it is. I know it says there are GF on Vega, but they shouldn't be there as far as I can tell. Those GF that were over Jord would have to have come from Vega — you only had 6 total that round, and never moved any back later on. The other two came along with your War Sun from your Home System. It was your first action of round 5, and this was your unit list from the end of round 4, so no extra GF came from anywhere unless I'm missing something important (Production hadn't been used yet). But all that aside, Googleshng ... tsk tsk. I told you. Off Vega. OFF VEGA. This is the opposite of off Vega. Truce broken unless you can give me a good reason why not. Well Done
Great job thus far, all of you. I stumbled on to this yesterday and it's been a great read. This is probably jumping the gun quite a bit, but if y'all need a player for a future game of T.I. (discussed a while back I believe), I'm your man.
Please pardon the interruption, and be excellent to each other. |
