I didn't know Blade Grasp could stop Draw Out or Math Skill.

I'm going to take up that gimmick team offer as someone who knows only the bare minimum about FFT to get through the game. Are WotL classes accepted? Also, can we choose palettes, because my team is 99% a concept team.

There is probably an option to choose which palette a unit uses (from the available palettes, e.g. Nanten, Hokuten). I can't guarantee it without re-examining the FFTastic interface. |

Anyway, here we are. Note that it's been ages since I last played FFT, so there may or may not be obvious mistakes. Correct me if there are. Quote:

Current torment is 2v2 nearly anything goes (see the third post).

Yeah, I realized that and I'm tweaking my team to compensate. :P

Incidentally, the next tourney should be 1v1, because I have an awesome idea for a Simon Belmont build. Last edited by Kzinssie; 06-05-2013 at 02:41 PM. |

All the women are immune to charm, anyway.

Huh. So I guess I won't genderswap, since she still gets female-exclusive gear and presumably won't try to target immune units (am i off-base on this)
Incidentally, the only reason Baron has Throw Stone is that I actually had a dream about Throw Stone winning a tournament. LOGICAL ABILITY CHOICES |

Idea for a future tournament: the winner is the team who loses. In the case of a stalemate (defined as x minutes with no appreciable change in game state) both teams are eliminated.

Also, I don't suppose I could submit two teams that are equally likely to die early and horribly? Last edited by Kzinssie; 06-05-2013 at 07:34 PM. |

If I ran this, I'd probably make everyone create a team of three and a fourth character that would be given to the other team, so you'd always be playing with your core three plus whoever the opponent gave to you. The question is, how poorly can you synergize with a random death machine?

If I understood anything you guys were talking about, I'd make a team.
It would lose in the first round because I don't know the game, but still! |

But no, do what I did and come up with a concept, then look at the references in the OP. You'll be able to slap something together. |

Just pick classes you think are cool, abilities you think are strong, and equipment that compliments what you want them to do. If you screw anything up, like giving people abilities that don't compliment each other very well, or give them equipment they can't use or wutever, we'll help ya out.

Interesting. Now I'm trying to think of a way to get an AI character to turn itself into a chicken.

Stone Gun (or whatever it's called) should probably be banned in this format. Anyway, when is the doubles tourney actually starting?

This is an amusing idea but I think it needs some rules. For example all characters must be fully equipped unless they have Martial Arts then they have to have bare hands. All abilities much be set and the character must have at least one skill in each of their action abilities. I'm not sure if Mime should be banned or not.

Do you need Item to make Throw Item work on a non-Chemist?
I might eventually have a team. |

Yes; Throw Item is useless without Item. |

Ah, gotcha. Yep, I can see that.

You can prevent this by giving the user an item that prevents petrification.
I agree with this assessment but it doesn't provide the whole story. A non-Chemist with Item skill can only use items on characters on adjacent squares/tiles. Throw Item allows non-Chemists to use items on characters that are farther away. |

I think Stone Gun should be an item that's banned in the LTW format. Otherwise everybody would equip it. |

Item works without Throw Item, yeah, but The point is that Throw Item doesn't do anything unless you have Item. You can still equip it, tho.
