Germinas Boots + Two Swords is a decent option (Concentrate isn't as necessary if you get behind the opponent).

I decided to just swap the Cursed Ring out for an Angel Ring, because it keeps some of the "spirit" of the original setup, just without the debilitating weaknesses of being a shambling corpse.

There's no reason not to have Holy Waters and Remedies and stuff on your item command. Especially since he's not immune to anything.

You also have two Earth Clothes (suggest a Secret Clothes on the ninja or a Power Sleeve on the monk) and there's no reason not to give the ninja a Koga Knife too.

Ah, I accidentally copied over an old version of it.

Lol, no dude, he didn't mean to replace your Iga knife with a Koga knife. Ninjas dual wield. Use them both.

Are you sure you want Aegis Shield over Escutcheon? You aren't using the MA for anything.

Otherwise, changes are locked in for round 1L. We'll be hotfooting it to Bervenia Volcano this time.

I knew I should have equipped Float.

Isn't Bervenia Volcano really small? That should be a nice change of pace from Roof of Riovanes.

It's smaller than Riovanes Rooftop, for sure, but it's not tiny, and the terrain is difficult to say the least.

Yeah, I went with an Aegis Shield instead of Escutcheon II because I'd rather him be returning unavoidable damage via Damage Split than rarely getting hit at all. The Aegis Shield is mostly for reducing the chance of crappy statuses.

I'm sure a high speed two-swords unit is going to double turn him next round just because I've said this.

Well... almost every team has some way of dealing damage that you 100% can't avoid. Thing is, if you can't limit them to nothing but those options, then they get to do wutever they want to you instead. Like, the fact that you have an aegis shield instead of an escutcheon II means they probably won't opt for doing damage to you and getting it split back at them. If you're vulnerable to status effects, they will use them, as lots of teams have them. You'll never completely avoid taking damage, tho, so you may as well avoid as much of it as you can. Especially since a lot of the moves that do guaranteed damage, like calculated holys and earth slashes, are relatively non threatening to a tanky unit.

(emphasis mine)

From a knight, maybe! Mage units can get that damage number up there.

I also notice you didn't mention Draw Out...

I didn't mention Jump either, but that's because not a ton of teams are running those things. Almost every team has a knight or ninja with Math Skill though.

As far as I'm aware, one of the shortcomings of the AI is that it doesn't actually consider most enemy reaction abilities when it's choosing its actions. Units killing themselves on Hamedo/Counter/Damage Split is not uncommon.

Once again, terrain manages to play an important role in the battle, but not in the way you'd expect.

Here are the matchups for the rest of 1L:

11: Torgo vs Solitayre
12: reinoe vs Traumadore
13: PrivateJoker vs dtsund
14: DeeMer vs the winner of the above video

Bahahahaha, Lilfut's Ninja is wearing clothes on her head.

You know what would have been $&@#ing hilarious? If Undead had stuck and saved that Monk from Death Sentence.

Also, you mention in the video that you didn't think there weren't any changes to my Monk's skillset, but I did submit some, in addition to Earth Slash. Just a heads up for the next match if you forgot to apply them.

Guys, I'm going to announce this right now: L1 is the best round. These next four videos are golden -- especially the three after this one -- so watch them so hard.

In today's installment, the AI seeks to answer the question, "How stupid can you get?"

Is there a limit to how many frothing demand birds I can post?

I hope the AI actually does something in the next matches. How many times did Solitayre's monk attack? Maybe one?

No matter what setting you give it the AI can always find ways to screw things up.

I think a lot of it's the map. The ai seems genuinely pretty confused on how to handle it. Teleport gave Soli's Priest gave her some breathing room, as did my Chemist's range, but my Knight was kinda, "Uh, I don't get it," and the Monk simply said, "Nuts to this."

Damn, Soli's units are strong but they're just so fuggin retarded that they lost out of sheer stupidity. Like, why didn't they fuggin attack? And why didn't the Monk cure Death Sentence with Stigma Magic? The Priestess did entirely too much casting of Holy, when I'm pretty sure Draw Outs were doing more damage, and could even have netted some double hits.

Stigma Magic doesn't remove Death Sentence, actually. In fact, I think the only thing that does is the White Staff (though I believe there are also a few status effects that will cancel it or its effects, like Petrify).

This Deathtrap is really a boon to my team, heheh. One of them is immune, and the other can be afflicted but not killed by it (which means three turns of stealth). We'll see if it actually makes a difference when my next round comes up... Deemer's team has some pretty brutal offense, so I dunno.
