I'm so totally attacked that Basestar for my second action.

6. Strafing run does no damage.

Apollo might want to swing around behind the Galactica and get that Heavy Raider if possible

That raider's probably going to land in the time it would take me to get over there (Two sectors away, so I can't fire on it for something like nine rounds). But it's ok!

We can just let the cylons crewmembers on board deal with the toasters.

4 Raiders are toast! Remember they die on 3-8, so it's a 75% chance each roll for a kill. The basestar shrugs off your ineffective spitting.

If I choose to discard, am I forcing the current player to discard also or do they have a choice not to discard?

They must discard, but you can still make this choice if you (or they) don't have enough cards.

My understanding is that the only time the above isn't so is when playing as Roslin.

They will have to discard, as much as they can (if they have 2 cards but are asked to give up 3, then the 2 cards satisfies the requirement). The current player thing really hurts, because it'll take 5 turns to replenish. Then again, less food will kill you, and cards come back around.

Boomer has 5 cards, while you have 3.

"Ms. Valerii, I know I've put you in an uncomfortable...ahem... position, but if you could please do this. For the sake of the fleet."

I'll discard Lead - Executive Order 2 and Pol -Investigative Committee 3.

The President chose to hold a seance with Boomer, and they magically fix the water supply with their minds.

The Basestars attack!

First one: 8, a hit! The Armory is damaged. If that heavy raider gets on board, you may have Problems.

Second: 4, a hit! Command is also damaged. Non-Pilots can't move vipers around now.

Jump Prep stays at -3. Upcoming Crisis will be sent to Boomer after she discards 3 cards.

I'm the Admiral, so the CIC is where I should be. Stick me in FTL Control.

Hey guys, it's Admiral Helo, back from my layover in deep space! How's everything goooohoooooly crap! This situation is terrible! I guess with the loss of our usual commander and his XO, the Galactica has suffered for leadership.

Well, now I'm here. And I can do some things:

I can attempt an early jump, risking the loss of 3 population, a risk mitigated by being able to reroll a bad result.
I can nuke a Basestar, with the same risk mitigation option as above.
 I can do something else.

I'm leaning toward the first option — let's get the hell out of this mess. How say you all?

And don't ask why my girlfriend looks so familiar.

I don't like the thought of losing 3 ships but I like losing the entire fleet even less.

Jumping now is a huge toss of the dice that I don't really think we can safely make. I mean, one more jump prep and we only lose one ship. That's considerably better.

Additionally, using a nuke when we're so close to wiping the board's a bit of a waste. But You could take potshots at one of the basestars using weapons control.

Since this is close to the first jump and there may be new people reading this, I'll describe Galactica's position. I'll pipe down after this one and leave Galactica to the cylons.

1. Currently, there is a Heavy Raider two spaces away from landing. That means in two crises, there could be a Centurion on the Boarding Party, which would be kinda bad, since the Armory is damaged. I say kinda bad, because it takes a long time for Centurions to progress. They move whenever Heavy Raiders are activated, which is a 25% chance per Crisis Card.

2. There are 2 basestars around Galactica. If they are activated, they can inflict mucho damage on the ship. Galactica's currently 33% dead, since there are 6 places on the ship that can be damaged. One place that would really hurt right now is if FTL Control is damaged. Hopefully the crew has stocked up on Executive Orders and Repair skill cards. Also, remember there's a 1 in 4 chance of this coming up.

3. There are a couple raiders on the board, but there are a couple vipers blocking them. Not an immediate threat, but has the potential to lose a civvy ship in a turn or two.

4. They can jump away, with a risk of losing 3 population. There are no civilian ships worth 3 population, the most is one with 2, and some with a pop and another resource. They have to roll a 7-8, or a 25% chance of jumping safely. As you recall, there is no way to recover population. Boomer/Athena and Helo aren't that quick. If the next Crisis card has a jump icon, then next turn they would only risk 1 pop.

5. The Admiral has a couple nukes. These have a chance of hurting or killing basestars, but also have a chance of killing every ship in the area, including Civilian ships. These do not harm Galactica, however.

I'll leave it up to you to decide your best course of action, Helo.

I think you have Pegasus in mind for the civilian damage risk, John. Nukes only hit Cylon ships. But we only get two of them, and without Raiders in the same space as those Basestars a nuke won't be working to its full potential on a lucky roll.

If we had a -1 population risk this would be a no-brainer, but two bad rolls here would lose us humans the game, I think (I think there's a Crisis or two that add a population point, but very few in any case). It seems likely that we'll be able to jump naturally before my next turn comes up.

Two damaged areas is bad, but we have the Chief in our corner, and he's very good at repairing things. Those two Raiders aren't much of a threat right now, and the Heavy will have to move twice to be a problem. So here's what I'll do:

Lea - Executive Order 2 on `Hrist. Take some shots at that Basestar. Make 'em count. SilentSnake. Fixy fixy!

Wat. You're not going to order the chief?

I mean, plinking is nice and all, but that only works on an 8. Kind of weird.

You're right! It's been so long since I played BSG clean, I'm used to the added risk of the Pegasus Admiral card. So, there's no risk, just iffy benefit of using them right now.

Try to keep up, Galacticans.

Moving to Command, using Repair - 1 to fix the location.

I then get another action, so I'm activating Command to activate two unmanned vipers.

I think I'll have the one with the raiders take two shots. Objections?
