Check of 14? Distance of +1?
Truly the lords of Kobol have smiled upon us. Let's do this check. Throw in what you can everyone. |

Wait, before we begin, I play Investigative Commitee - 3 to keep people honest.

So, Boomer making her own rolls for that check made me realize I haven't explicitly stated the die roll mechanisms. For this game, I will make the rolls for the Cylons, and crisis cards if needed. You all can make die rolls yourselves for combat and crisis cards, just do a 1-8 check at random.org. You're on your honor to report whatever the result is. I know in the Twilight Imperium game that I just played in here, I was tempted a few times to roll again when I got an unfavorable result. I kept it clean, and didn't win, but had more fun because I could use my deviousness to skew the game instead of an unfair roll.
Anyway, you're all good peeps if you're here, so we don't need to worry about that. On with the deliberations! |

Since an Investigative Committee was played, and this is the base game, even the Destiny Deck is played face up. With the Pegasus expansion, they change the IC card so Destiny is still hidden.
Tactics and Piloting are positive. Pil - Evasive Maneuvers 2 Pol - Consolidate Power 2 So, it's a wash. Let's see what you can do! Just post your cards in order in the thread. Chief: 0 cards. Boomer: 4 Helo: 6 Baltar: 4 Apollo: not needed, unless Apollo wants to out himself publicly. Total: 14, a pass! Last edited by John; 09-10-2011 at 09:30 PM. |

I can help quite a bit. Posting out of order, spoilered (we can still do that, right?), since there's no way we'll reach par with just Boomer's cards and I gots some stuff to do and don't want to hold things back:
Tac - Strategic Planning 3 Tac - Launch Scout 1 Pil - Evasive Maneuvers 2 |

Then Gaius finds a quiet corner and starts that whole making out by himself thing. |

Unless Apollo wants to change the vote to fail, you somehow decipher the writings that Boomer wrote when she was in a fugue state, and the Humans are one step closer to home!
Distance: 1 Raiders are launched, suddenly there are 3 new Raiders in front of Galactica. Jump Prep doesn't move, though. You're still at -3 Pop to jump. Last edited by John; 09-11-2011 at 05:22 PM. |

So the one skill check where I could have actually contributed, on my own turn even, and that doesn't happen.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we moved. But siiiiiiigh. |

Chief sees the Pres...shall we say slumming it down on Galactica with himself while fiddling with some levers over in FTL, so he gives him an Executive Order (1) to get the hell back to his office and do his fracking job.

"Oh, uh right..."
Going to discard Pol - Consolidate Power 2 and fly to the President's Office on Colonial 1 and draw a Quorum card. If I don't play a Quorum card after drawing one, do I draw another? |

Quorum Card sent.
Mr. President, while you were off "looking" at "papers" with your "assistant" Billy, the Cylons were plotting and planning. Crisis Step Besieged! Cylon Attack 1. Activate Raiders 2. Setup: Bow: civvy, Starboard-Bow: civvy, Aft: heavy, Port-Aft: basestar: Port-Bow: 2 vipers, civvy, 4 raiders. 3.Special Rule: Heavy Casualties. The 4 raiders that were just setup are activated. Wow, this is one of the worst Cylon Attack cards in the game. Let's get this going. The 4 Raiders in the Bow activate first, and attack the 2 Manned Pilots. If there are hits, then you will have to decide who gets the hits. Raider 1: 5, Hit, viper damaged. Decide who will take the hit, and if an Evasive Maneuvers will be used. Spoiled below are future rolls, so don't look ahead until you decide. Next Rolls: 6, 2, 4 8 if needed 4 if needed Decide who takes the hit(s) and/or uses Evasive Maneuvers, if possible. I'll be home this afternoon to update pics with all the new ships. |

I'll use Evasive Maneuvers - 1 for the first two, and then take the last hit unless Boomer cares to/has an evasive maneuvers to burn on me, though you may want to save one for the unpiloted Vipers with the Civvies.

HINT: since Apollo has an ability to jump in any Viper when launched, if you get blowed up you can come back and take an action in Step 2, before the other raiders are activated.
|

You should take the hit.

Figured I'd check first.
Right, so, I take the hit, and limp back to the Galactica. However, before anyone can sedate Apollo to take him to the Medical Bay, he jumps in one of the newer, undamaged Vipers and flies out once more. |

Okay, Apollo will take the hit, and his viper is destroyed (on a roll of 8, a viper is damaged beyond repair). The new ships get placed on the board, and Apollo jumps right out of Sickbay to pilot one of the Vipers put in the Port-Bow.
Viper goes back in the tackle box. Bow of Galactica: 1 Basestar, 4 Raiders, 1 Manned Viper (Boomer), 1 civvy Port-Bow: 2 Unmanned Vipers, 1 Manned Viper (Apollo), 4 Raiders, 1 civvy Port-Aft: 1 Unmanned Viper, 1 Basestar Aft: 2 Civvy's, 1 heavy Starboard-Bow: Civvy Apollo, you get 1 action before the 4 raiders attack the unmanned vipers first, then you next. That action is to use a Maximum Firepower - 3 and try to single-handedly kill all of the things.

Two Raiders bite it.
The other two attack: 1, 5. One Hit. One Viper is sent to the Repair Shop. You survive to fight another day! Turn 6 coming up! Last edited by John; 09-11-2011 at 05:42 PM. |

So, now that everyone has had a turn, how is this format working for you? Anything I could be doing differently, better? This last turn is lacking the exciting photographs, but I'll backfill them this afternoon.
Also, if anyone was wondering, here's how I setup the card decks. I first copied all the text into spreadsheets, then used this method to shuffle them. All decks were shuffled 3 times, then I let them be. I'll do that same method for reshuffling. I'll state in the thread when the decks are shuffled or drawn (Destiny, Skill Cards). The only things I'm using random.org are combat related. Dice rolls, Galactica/Basestar damages. |
