Then I found a random gameplay video/LP thing and it looks like a single battle against slimes was taking roughly 45 minutes ...

Nah, the battles are pretty quick... in terms of commands. But everything else around the game is super slow and inefficient.

You should be entering battle commands in quickly since damage is combo-based, and doing it slowly hurts your output.

It's not the worst game I've ever played, but it's not really all that good.

You've actually played it? And you admit it? You poor poor bastard. Also, mind popping into the thread for it and cluing me in about this whole combo system? For being the only thing you have any sort of control over at all in combat, they sure do a terrible job of explaining it. Same with the magical girl transformations for that matter.

I think the attempts at humor might actually be worse than the boobs.

I'd have been just as happy if, like the copy of Sonic 06 that went from my brother to me to some poor soul here on TT, it found another "happy" home after you'd played it for twenty minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the full LP. And... uh... you're welcome. (flees)

Huh. I played Trinity Universe, another Idea Factory game which is built off of a nearly-identical engine (afaik), and at least half of the first hour is spent on tutorials given by a bizarrely chirpy girl in a salesgirl's apron.

I thought "gameindustri" was pretty stupid all by itself. You mean it gets worse?? Guess we'll all find out!

I'd like to claim Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky for November. Which thread should I use to get audience participation for the early parts of the game (specifically, the name and species of my partner)?

The Sandbox/Critique thread should work just fine.

But while I'm here, no name suggestions, but that one lets you choose any of the starters from gens 1-4, right? If so, use a Turtwig.

It seems like the queue has thinned out a lot from before... I remember it used to be packed every month!

I have suspicions as to why that is. But, I'll hold my tongue. If anyone has ideas for revitalizing the this subsection. Please share.

The one complaint I've heard more than once was that for awhile there was just too much going on in the LP section. Was that true for others?

Yeah, the queue used to be backed up for months. Butterfly Spool increased the queue size, and the problem disappeared.

Well, once I finish writing up my first update, I'll start up the thread.
