Could I reserve a slot for Faster Than Light this coming April?

Super Mario Bros LP is going to occur in the Microgames thread near the end of March. I guesstimate SMB2 USA/SMB3 to happen in late April/Early June at the latest.

There is no queue for the microgames thread. Though I don't know if those games qualify as microgames...

Thoughts on this, Tyrants?

My thoughts are that "microgame" is a matter of perspective; it makes more sense to refer to it as the micro-LP thread. You can do a very short LP on a fairly good-sized game if you're only focusing on one specific aspect. Similarly, you can take a very tiny game and turn it into an enormous showstopper of an LP.

I guess one SMB world a video would come in under fifteen updates per LP.

Three SMB worlds come under fifteen minutes per LP, counting out repeating footage I edit out.

Microgames may not be available to you until I hit my deadline at the very end of March. Of course, if you'd like to help me out with puzzle #27 I might get there sooner!

I started a little bit of a mini-thread on this LP thread this morning (it says 3 AM, I'm Eastern time so that's actually 7 AM) asking about LPs. All of my questions were answered except one. The series I want to LP is the Ben Jordan series however it is a series of eight rather short games, the first two especially (I once beat the first one in three and a half minutes) and remakes of the first two games. It would be kind of jolting to finish an LP in a couple of days and then wait a month so as to queue for the next game. So to anyone who has played this series... what would count as "a game" on this forum? Maybe the first game and its remake would be one game, the same for the second and its remake, and all the rest would be their own separate games?

There is a precedent already for LPing a chain of shorter games as one big LP (see Falselogic's Space Quest I-III LP thread for an example). So you could reserve to do an LP of all of them in sequence in one LP, like he did there.

Finished the series just now. So... I claim Ben Jordans 1 through 8. And assuming there's a slot open I'd like to start in April.

Similar to the previous question, I'd been considering doing a series of short (4-8 update) screenshot LPs of early Game Boy games like Rolan's Curse and Gargolye's Quest. Something like "Let's Play Beowulf's Game Boy Childhood". Assuming I can narrow down which games I'm doing, would it be cool to do that as a single thread?

I would like to LP The Bible Game (GBA). I would be fine with a May slot if Beowulf's idea takes the last one in April.

I'm going to veto this. As it makes finding games difficult. I don't want there to be giant messy single threads for multiple games if I can avoid it.

You can do these in the micro LP thread or just have new threads for each. Games in a series it makes some sense to do a single thread for but not for a user.

In that case, I'd like to put in reservations for Rolan's Curse, Rolan's Curse 2, Mysterium, Great Greed and Gargoyle's Quest (all for the original Game Boy), and in the next couple of weeks I'll figure out whether I want to do micro-LPs or full threads, and possibly recind a couple of these.

Nyperold can have the April slot if he'd like it.

Holy shit. Well if there's no one better suited to tackle it.

So I tried testing how big a 640x400 image would appear on this site using the attachments feature (sorry I had to) and it turned out too small. I then turned it into a 2560x1600 and it came out the same size. I saw the insert image function, but saw it requires a URL. Do I just use html code to get the lone image online or do I do something else? And if I do need a specific resolution, what is the standard resolution to use? Again, sorry, really new to this site and inexperienced and dumb.

What you're going to need is a site to upload your images to. I'm still stubborn and use Photobucket, but other people here might have better suggestions. Then, you want to use the "insert image" button (the icon that looks like a yellow post it note with the mountains and stamp) above, pointing it to the specific URL you want.

The alternative (and faster way) is just entering the code yourself, which isn't hard but requires you to know the exact image filename. The code looks like this, which you'll see if you use the "insert image" button:

Alright, I want a May slot for Colonization (the Mac version). Likely starting mid-May but I will get a more solid date in the next few weeks).

I got into contact with Refa, and we seem to be in agreement that a certain LP should be given a new lease on life. And so I take up the LPing reigns once more.
