Coming soon to a March near you: Group Let's Play Dungeon Lords (not to be confused with similarly-titled video games). If you're interested in playing, shoot me a PM describing in 300 words or less what qualifies you to be a dungeon lord. Game knowledge not necessary. Only four can play.

Ancient Domains of Mystery has finished its run, 7th Saga will follow next week, and Betrayal is on the home stretch as well. I could be convinced to run another game of Betrayal if there's sufficient interest.

I've played Dungeon Lords once and it's awesome. Best of luck! I probably won't try to sign up for another one of the group plays too soon. I'm too easily confused. ;3

Since I couldn't actually get through the regular game I would much prefer seeing the original played well than the Zodiac one.

EDIT: actually, I just had an idea: Play the original version, but (at least to start off) have people vote on a "class" to try to build each character to. That way you can have some limitations but still be able to branch out when you eventually have enough LPs for the whole board.

Yeah, pretty much. Just with this game being more open it would require more viewer input/self control to stay on a certain "path" since there aren't paths. I just don't like the idea of the Zodiac system because unlike FFX-I there's no way (I gather) to branch out from the starting point.

I like the cut of your jib. This will necessitate me defining a few "classes". But since that means I won't be limited to said classes if I'm given free reign later, all the better so I can demonstrate ways to thoroughly break the game...

You are correct. Jobs are locked in once chosen. There is some overlap, however, due to how the Jobs are designed. I kinda prefer IZJS, however, because it fixed three things I just could not get over:
  • No more fuck-you-for-opening chests.
  • Chests respawn after moving one zone away, rather than three.
  • No more everybody-is-the-same-character-mechanically bullshit.

(I'm still not fond of the hybrid action-RPG/traditional-FF combat system, but that's mostly because I expect for dodging to actually do something.)

I'm almost done writing the first post for my group LP of Arkham Horror and I hope to have it up by tonight so people can start signing up.

I really don't want to ask for another extension, but there's no way I can start Ganbare Goemon 3 by the end of this week. Working on STTB2 has pretty much take up most of my free gaming-related time.

However if it's cool to start the LP in the middle, or even towards the end, of March then that should be fine.

Okay, so I have an idea.

I've recently been going through my collection of old gaming mags and having an absolute blast. What do you guys think about doing a LP style "walkthrough" of an old game mag. I could post a link or a thumbnail to each page(or at least the interesting ones) and provide some commentary. Would this be appropriate for the LP board or should it just stay in the general game discussion board?

I like the idea. I don't know if the LP thread is the right place to have it. If we had a printed media sub-forum it'd go great there. But, I keep losing that fight so...

With Final Fantasy X International well and truly complete, I will be taking a bit of a break. But I'll be returning soon, with a new LP. Or rather, a revived one that was unfortunately abandoned. Which one will it be? It's a secret to everybody.

(No, I'm not giving up on LPing FF12 just 'cause it's not my next one. That's gonna be a long-arse project, so it gets to wait 'til summer.)

Oh man, is someone going to finally going to pick up and finish the Escape Velocity LP? Can that ghost from my past finally be laid to rest?

A good guess, but I'm afraid you will never escape Escape Velocity at this rate.

T-minus 2 days.

Just in case I can make this work and feel like drowning myself in the world's finest voice acting...

I'd like to reserve Magna Carta: Tears of Blood for the PS2.

I'd like to reserve the Wizardry Dark Savant trilogy - Wizardry VI to Wizardry VIII.

I'm looking to take all three because the end of each game leads directly into the next, and there is an overarching storyline.

If taking a whole trilogy is frowned upon, Wizardry VII is my favourite of the three. That, or I start with 6 and claim them successively.

Yeah, that's the plan.

I'll have to put some limits on it - I'll be playing on Expert, and it's suicide to start without a Bard.

I'm a wall of text type, so I'll be going into mechanics, pros and cons of classes, etc, and then let everybody pick 4 of the 6 to roll. I have plans for other two. Heck, I might even let everybody pick the levelling "method" (class changes or not).

Once the time approaches for me to officially start up then we can do all that stuff. I'm very excited!

Two quick things.

#1: Starcross is back active
#2: I would like to put a reserve in for The Hitch-Hikers Guide to the Galaxy text adventure game if at all possible.

By the way, do YOU want to be a dungeon lord? Yes, you, the person reading this message. If you hop on over to the Dungeon Lords LP, you can join in on the Action. We have one slot that needs filling.

I don't think I understand how the Que here works at all.

But I guess it doesn't matter, since this game was, in fact developed by a prominent member of TT? Maybe?

There appears to be nothing at all queued up for April and there is, in fact a special queue-skipping clause for games independently developed by "prominent TTers", so I'd say you're good to go. You probably want to PM PapillonReel first, though, just to make sure you don't get your thread locked in bewilderment as soon as he notices it.
