No, this is a terrible idea and SD3 is a terrible game.

That's right. A terrible game. It is the least-fun action RPG I have ever played, and that includes the DS Zelda games.

In its stead, I propose a Civilization IV group LP.

Then YOU'RE NOT INVITED. The SD3 LP will be the NO AERDANS CLUB

(I'm just kidding, it's not everyone's cup of tea.)

For the record: yep. I'm fine with any Talking Time-produced indie game bypassing the queue. Not that it matters really, since we're waaay below capacity right now.

Incidentally: if anyone's willing, there's still a request out there for LPing SpoonyBardOL's RPG, Final Fallacy: Dusk of Spirits. Anyone interested can go ahead and do that.

No, because see, I have legitimately beaten Secret of Mana. And SD3 can still fuck right off like the pathetic, grind-tastic pile of shit it is.

Ah, yes... I do have to apologise about that; it seems that life has become rather busy for me, and I can't muster the enthusiasm to spend what free time I do get on my LP. It's really regrettable, given the point that we'd reached and what was coming up... But I'm going to have to throw in the towel on this one.

Anyone who wants to take over or start over, be my guest. I have files if ya need them.

Are you sure you're not talking about Secret of Mana?

For the record, I found SD3 to be anything but like that. Outside of unlocking the final classes, I can't think of a single moment where you're even required to grind.

Don't mind Aerdan. He has a low tolerance for gameplay that actually requires high levels of experimentation to figure out the best way to do things on a per-major-battle basis. Most people do, really; that's why gems like Vagrant Story get ignored in favor of the shallower (but easier-to-learn and more consistent) RPGs like the Final Fantasy games.

I am a horrible person. I'm sorry about kinda sorta maybe disappearing from the forums for about....5 months? And for never even starting the Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga game. And missing what were probably fun debates about new games. Life locked me away unfortunately.

I have a new LP designation proposal: Long Hiatus. Here's the gist of it: an LP on Long Hiatus has as long as they need from the last update to be resumed before being considered Abandoned (and thus up for grabs by anyone). For an LP to go into Long Hiatus, it must be requested specifically by the LP's author and be for good reasons (ie. real-life problems interfering with one's LP schedule).

Really, this is just a formalization of the current system where you can request that your LP be considered "not up for adoption" despite being officially designated as Abandoned (and I would suggest moving all LPs under that designation now to Long Hiatus). Many of us are finding our lives are getting far more busy these days, and six months isn't always time enough to clear our schedules for LPing purposes any longer.

Thoughts?

I'd like to make a May claim for a co-op run of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD for PS3. I'll be playing the game alongside Lobst, with DemoWeasel joining us for commentary.

I'd also like to have Lobst's and DemoWeasel's names attached to my existing LPs in the Finished list! They have way more pull than I do. D:

So I have a short LP of the iPhone game Missing Bro more or less ready to go. I've been planning to put it in the microgames thread, but since there's a lot of free slots going I thought maybe I'd just run it in its own thread. It'll be about a half dozen updates long, and would hopefully be wrapped up in time to not interfere with my WBIII LP next month. Can I go ahead, or should I wait and stick it in microgames when the current one ends?

Hey, I'd like to queue up for Plants vs. Zombies. It sounds ridiculous, but I could only find one LP of it on YouTube and the guy didn't really know much about the game.

Sounds perfectly reasonable, especially if written in the style of a military journal or diary of some kind.

Really? I've seen two just from my subscriptions, and a search yields at least 7 more. Still, I would love to see this, so pay me no mind.

gahitsu's knowledge of Plants vs. Zombie's is ... a little frighting, honestly. I think it would be a worthwhile read/watch even if it's been done.

We have tons of openings this month and we're in the middle of finding a new mod besides, so don't let me hold you back - you, Kalir and Yimothy can all go ahead and start LPing away. :P

Since my Starcross LP is now done other then the bonus update, can I slip in for May for the Infocom version of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"?
