Except they totally fucking don't imply anything of the sort? Did I make some posts in this thread that I'm not seeing?

What part of this implies either of those two things? I am expressing a preference. I prefer screenshot LPs! That's it. I said nothing about one or the other being "real", and nothing about effort. Ya'll are stretching awfully hard to put words in my mouth and take offense.

If I said that I prefer Coke to Pepsi, but will drink Pepsi if that's all they have, am I saying that Pepsi isn't real soda, or fucking anything about what goes into making it? Trick question: all soda is garbage.

I think that even if I don't always have the time or mental energy to watch a full video LP from a fairly casual stream that this forum almost always has useful writeups to describe all the mayhem that went on the video of note. It goes a long way to finding interesting clips to hold the viewer's attention, contexualizing those moments to explain why they're interesting or out of the ordinary, and just generally creating structure out of an otherwise unplanned/unscripted performance. A lot of care has to go into that!

Not like some dude who gets drunk over the weekend, invites some of his pals to join in on a stream of a game he dislikes, and does nothing but spew vitriol about the game because of how terrible it is, and then forgets to have any archival of his videos done so he can't upload them to a video sharing site or maintain a coherent writeup about the games. I mean, not that that would happen around here. >_>

Not that I really have a preference one way or the other here (though my bad internet over the summer means I can't watch videos of any form, much less video LPs), I'm pretty sure the implication was derived from this:

Since this is at least nominally a Let's Play claim thread, I figured I'd claim a game to LP - the text adventure Infidel. Text LPs are like screenshot LPs, right?

So I'm probably a bit over halfway through Ittle Dew 2.

I am strongly considering streaming a run of Pyre over the next few weeks. I already cleared it once, but it's the kind of game where a ton of little things adding up here and there can make everyone's experience that little bit different, and having a stream crowd there to say "HEY GO HUG THE DEMON" or whatever would be more interesting than just playing through again with my own choices.

If so, I'd probably do things on either Monday or Friday evenings, at around 6PM Mountain Time (so 5PM on the West Coast, 8PM on the East).

It also may be a while before I actually do this, so I'm mostly just floating the idea to see how much interest there is.

Yeah, I'm claiming Pyre. It'll be a Friday evening stream at the above mentioned time. Not tomorrow, still doing OTHER STUFF then, but most Fridays after I'll be around to play orb-ball.

I've been meaning to do this for ages, but I've wanted to start another thing while I'm working on STO (since it's a very long-term archival project for me, and it's finally getting to a point where I can take it easier on that front). And there's a game I've been wanting to get to.

I'm going to start a new LP for SD Gundam G Generation Genesis. I want to put up my intro video tomorrow, with the intent for it to properly start in a week or so.

So last night I bought Scanner Sombre on a whim, and then started streaming it on another whim.

I'm thinking I'll chop it up and post it as a mini LP as a way to physically force myself to learn a new video editor before I start my NEXT BIG PROJECT.
