Are we talking about this Hero Quest?

'Cause I still have some of the pieces for that game in my various boxes o' junk. Don't remember ever getting anyone to play a full game of it with me when I was younger, either...

That is the Hero Quest.

If you managed to scrounge up a complete set, it would be worth about $75 today.

Ahahaha, oh no, my set is far from complete. I have about a third of the board pieces and none of the cards. Or the board, for that matter. The set kinda disintegrated over the course of 3 moves.

I still have the board and all pieces, cards, and documentation. I also had the expansions that they released in the states, I left them with a friend. I am SO in for this!

To start sometime in the middle of the month, I would like to claim Chrono Trigger DS as my first VG LP, if I may.

I would be in for Hero Quest but I don't want to monopolize all your board game LPs.

Maybe put me down as an alternate?

You know, if you want to recruit people for your board game, you have to pitch it. Like so:

Feeling brave tonight? How brave? Brave enough to do battle with hideous monsters, hm? Brave enough to sneak around dank castles in the dark and chance being the next victim of a Dragon Strike?

Oh wait, wrong board game. Well still, you get the idea.

Look, the box says, right there, "High adventure in a world of magic." What more could you possibly need to know?

"I use my brode sode!"

(I don't think the US version even has a broadsword card)

(also, there are no enemy barbarians)

Oh man Hero Quest. Fond memories there. I'd like to play if it doesn't require some weird skype commitment.

I remember that commercial, it played exactly the same way but they dubbed the kids' voices over with Americans saying the same lines. Crazy.

Can I call dibs on the Barbarian? I think it's time we got a little... Guts-y.

Eddie prefers the strong, yet gentle type in his board games: Ox Bellows. Barbarian. Lenny from Of Mice and Men.

Then we need a Dwarf and an Elf (one of whom is Loki).

You don't get to say "And my axe!" in this case, because the Dwarf gets a shortsword. You could say "And my shortsword!", but then you'd still have to specify who you mean, because the Elf also starts with a shortsword.

If it helps someone's choice any, my Barbarian is in love with the Dwarf.

The Elf is thin and long-haired, but since it's an elf, it could be a guy or a girl.

The Dwarf is muscly and bearded, but since it's a dwarf, it could be a guy or a girl.

Really, only the Barbarian has a determinate gender, and even then, only because his shirt is off.

In regards to my For The Frog The Bell Tolls future LP, please extend the claim. Numerous problems have kept me from getting a new computer and I do not want to attempt an LP using a Mac laptop.

Also, please put down a claim for all three NES Mario titles.

I would currently like to claim Digimon World Dusk for December 2012.

My reasons for doing so I'll explain in the opening post.

Now that I actually have an idea of what I'm getting into (it's amazing what you can learn in just a month of doing 1/3rd of an LP), I would like to reserve Final Fantasy Legend 3. I have an idea for a challenge run that would be cool to document. I'll see about reserving a slot (presumably January) in a few weeks after I map out notes and start my set-up.

I haven't forgotten about this, also! It's just that the Haze co-op servers went down the day we were going to start recording and it's kind of thrown me for a loop. It might end up being a post-commentary singleplayer run, but we're still on-track to showcase this shitshow somehow.

I gave up on waiting for the co-op servers to go up, got a good grip of videos recorded, corralled some comrades together for commentary... and one of their computers suffered a serious hardware failure mid-recording. So, I guess this is a December LP now. D:
