Post-Script to that story about LOTR:
The rental after was Secret of Mana. <3 ...which I could never get past the evil wall thing that smashes you against the spikes and kills you instantly. |

Set it up, and I'll pitch in. You could even have it where certain thresholds of donations means you play x number of chapters. It'd be great.

Seriously. Has this happened to all of us?

I'm not a fan of the animated LoTR but I do love the Hobbit Cartoon. Especially the singing. "the Greatest Adventure" often goes through my head as does "15 birds in five fir trees." It is 15 right?

Yup. That song also runs through my head at random times. It doesn't help that it's in my mp3 collection too....

Yeah, The Hobbit was pretty good. Even abridged for TV time, at least it manages to tell the gist of its tale and still doesn't have some other better adaptation. The LotR animated movie ended without even finishing The Two Towers, and shit just happened all over the place in the Return of the King animated movie.

If I recall, the LotR movie had a hairstring budget and shrinking deadline, and basically said 'fuck it, it's gotta ship tomorrow". As much as I dislike Ralph Bakshi (and the design of every single character), it failed mostly because they got in way over their heads.
Speaking of Ralph Bakshi being a douchebag, he was miffed that Peter Jackson never consulted him in making the trilogy. Despite his movie being a steaming pile of goat crap that failed in every way. |

Well, several shots in Jackson's movie were directly inspired and/or intentional homages to Bakshi's. And Jackson eventually came out to say very nice things about it.

The article with the miffing was written before the films were in theaters, so he wouldn't have known. Still, douchebag.

Jackson and Bakshi are both full of crap. They left out the part in the beginning of the story where Pippin and Merry got stuck behind a tree outside of Hobbiton and were never heard from again, and the part where Legolas forgot how to use a bow and fought evil by walking in circles and bumping into things instead.

"Aaaahhh! Brick abandoned his LP!"
No I didn't! But I did lose 180+ images by accidentally overwriting them the other day (12/1), then I got all pissed, then a friend flew in from out of town and I kind of forgot about it. After he went home I re-evaluated the resources I still had: I had my bare-bones note file (I keep little notes as I play to make sure I don't forget to notate things), and I had found an 12-pack of Crayola colored pencils in with Peanut's school supplies. As things stand right now I'm about halfway done with PERSONALLY ILLUSTRATING the next update myself. It is taking forever because colored pencils are really hard. Here is one of the pictures I drew: I've resolved to start my next LP on Christmas morning, which means this one will be done before then. Which means I have to go colored pencil some more! See you guys on the other side. |

I think crayons would be better. They make nice thick lines everyone can see. Also they are crayons!

Okay but see I don't have any crayons. One works with the resources one has.
One can certainly scan at a higher resolution though, couldn't one? One will think on this. |

If you're any good at stylus drawing/painting and don't mind blowing $20, you could always try what I do: Sketch and paint up your stuff in Art Academy, exhibit it in the DSi's camera album, send it to Facebook, and from there save and upload it to your image service of choice.

But yeah, it's not for everyone. Art Academy emulates pencils and paints, so you don't get any fill or line options or solid pens or markers or those kinda things. |

Yes, it does. Unfortunately, it's the only current means to get DSi photos on the Internet, and that's how you get your Art Academy exhibits online, since they're placed in your DSi camera album.
Still, if you have drawings you don't want friends and family to see (ex. That first drawing I did in my LP), you could submit a generic photo first and then lock your DSi Photos folder to "Only Me" view. |
