I'd vote DQ4, but man, January is our Final Fantasy month. FFIV!

I thought I weighed in on this, but I guess not.

FFII, if only because maybe you can convince me of why I shouldn't regard it as the pale shadow of the next two games in the series. Playing DQIV just because it's the best game is a little... weak.

Hmm. FF2/4 is one of the few games where I really doubt anyone can tell me anything I don't already know about it. I've run it on the SNES more times than I can count, Game Genied the crap out of it, played it on GBA twice(once with ridiculous glitches, once with acceptable glitches). I've done everything there is to do except win a pink tail, and don't think I haven't tried to do that as well.

On the other hand, Dragon Quest games prior to DQ8 are boring to look at and talk about, and DQ4 in particular puts me right to sleep.

I guess I'll have to vote for Final Fantasy, as teenage me would have wanted it.

I want to see FFIV broken, so my vote goes to that.

Just so you guys know, I don't know how to break either of these games. I mean, not like Tiamat-before-Kary break.

Nonetheless, I'll vote for FF4.

Or FF2 if you want to keep an old marketing compromise and the resultant confusion (especially now that the actual FF2 has been released in America) alive for the sake of nostalgia. Or FF2/4 if you want to be all wussy about it.

My only FF2 request is that you get the Imp summon. I had played that damn game 10+ times before I ever got it.

Heck, get Bomb, Cockatrice, ZOIDBERG, and the Pink Tail, too. It still wouldn't be as tedious as getting FUKT past Astos.

I make myself get them all because I, like all good souls, <3 Rydia, and feel unhappy knowing that she's lacking a complete summon list.

Well, the easiest way to break FFII is just by duping items, but that's a little too easy.

The only sequence-break I'm aware of is the Crystal Room Warp that lets you completely skip the Sealed Cave. Which is useful if you know your way around the game and forgo all of the grinding you'd need to do to survive in there (or to have Rosa learn Wall) but it'd probably lead to further grinding in order to beat the Land of Summoned Monsters and the Giant of Bab-Il.

FFII, mostly because I think it'll be fun to see Brick to go nuts nerding out over it.

Doh, you are right. I misread you, and assumed you were adding up numbers, not using them in sequence. My bad, sorry Destil.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that while you should definitely talk about the Crytal Room Warp (for the few souls who haven't seen it) and maybe show it off without saving, you shouldn't *actually* do it. We can't be missing out on all the fun of Trap Door shenanigans now.

Default This is Canadia, Pepper speaking. Congratulations on a job well done.

I'll have to vote for DQ4 on this one, solely because I'm one of the (apparently very few) people in the world that agrees with Brickroad that the transcribed accents in the remake are awesome. I mean, it even has Canadian accents! I don't think any other game (other than Bob McKenzie Teaches Typing and/or Ice Hockey) has even acknowledged Canadia even exists!

No real need to grind in II (US), just buy 100 life potions before you head in and you're golden.

I played, beat and loved DQ 4 on the DS! But, I've never played FF4, so my vote goes there.
