Wouldn't that be Thor rather than Odin?

There ya go. I know for certain at least that they don't hit allies in the patches, which is what makes them good. Ever seen a Sky Dragon hit an enemy three-four times? Beautiful.

Could someone outline all the changes to Rafa and Malak that WotL made? On a slightly related note, I think if you removed Cid, there wouldn`t be any hate for any character; he just raises the bar too high. - Eddie |

If you let TG raise the bar like that you won't have anyone else left. (aside from generics you've build and optimized over 30 hours to the point of being able to unmake gods with a wave of their hands). Not that you'd need anyone, I should try letting him solo everything after he joins sometime...
Balthier gets close in WotL, mostly because his speed is fantastic, but not quite there.Of course, he makes up for it by being Balthier Rafa and Malak are different (and interesting! I love how most characters hate uneven ground, but they thrive on it), which has earned them the eternal enmity of the gaming population. |

Without Orlandu, Meliadoul would seem broken. I would still hate Malak's ability set, though. Perhaps more importantly, Mel and Mal both have ugly-looking sprites. Malak is wearing poofy pajamas, and I don't even know what's going on with Meliadoul's outfit, but it looks uncomfortable.

There's a Mighty Sword pun in there somewhere, but I won't be the one to make it. Though I was sad that the PSP version gave the Mighty Sword skills very boring names.
Hey, she's a green and gold Darth Vader --a floor-length hooded Church robe concealing knight's armor. In a genre where even armored women are all but exposed to the elements, her design makes sense and makes her look awesome. |

I like Meliadoul's design. I'd even use her if her abilities worked against enemies without equipment (for example, all monsters everywhere).

In the PSP version, Unyielding Blade can deal damage (heavy damage) if the enemy is missing the appropriate equipment!

I also love Meliadoul's design. I always thought it was funny that she could use spears and crossbows despite needing swords to use Mighty Sword.
Poor poor Malak. |

The second image, especially, lets you know what's going on with her outfit. Awesome, that's what. The divine knight in my pen and paper Ivilace game had the same sort of armor (black cloak and silver plate, though). We had come to the conclusion that it was pretty much standard issue for the class... |

How did this dev team go from Meliadoul, Rafa and Agrias to Fran and Ashe?

It probably has something everything to do with FFXII being a main Final Fantasy title and having to appeal to a wider Japanese demographic. The same reason why Basch wasn't the main character like he was planned to be, essentially.

I think Meliadoul would look pretty awesome with a more detailed, hi-res sprite.

I like Bards, they look neat. (Dancers are better)

Meliadoul is pretty rad too, thanks to how effectively she neuters human enemies (and monster too, in WotL), but there's no denying that Mr. Thunder God outclasses her in every way imaginable. Last edited by PapillonReel; 11-16-2009 at 09:21 PM. |

So, has anyone ever hacked this to get an Arc-Knight in their party? I believe you only one them once, but they're the other side of the 'Super Knight' from what he can do: ability breaks instead of equipment.
A wide area Speed Break at range with no CT sounds like a real wrecking ball, and it can actually make one of the later boss fights a bit hard (assuming you don't kill him on the first round, which usually is what happens). |

Also, I see a few faces here who haven't put in there votes for what monsters they'd like to see used in this LP. Vote or die (in obscurity)! - Eddie |

Oooh! Oooh! I know what the best thing about Cloud is! It's something that Eddie would have my head for spoiling, so I can't say it yet. Of course, he probably deserves it after GOLGOrand pun, because I mean really, that was terrible. But hey, don't the new spoiler tags look nice? Way to go Matchstick.
But hey, let's see if we can get a troupe of Bards and Dancers to win the battle at the the Execution Site. |
