Very well, but I'll have to give you the "Wet Loincloth" status effect for five rounds.

I take whatever damage that goblin tries to deal to me (I rolled a 0 for my defense roll earlier) and then try and tap him back (one hit), more of a playful nudge as I point to his pee-stained comrade with the biggest grin on my face. |

Exactly what does the wet loincloth status entail anyway? I assume it is -3 to all checks to feel a draft?

Believe it or don't, my only direct-damage spells are easier for the monster to resist than my dagger. They're really only good as a long-range option or against creatures with more defense dice since they ignore the monster's defense. Besides, I only have two of them, and there is still 3/4 of the map yet unexplored.

That said, let's be careful not to jump too far ahead here; technically, Mogri's monsters haven't moved. I simply put my defense/attack roll up to speed things along; the chances of that lone goblin not attacking me (and me not attacking it) were pretty slim (he would need to run out of the room, which would be pretty awesome but morale checks do not exist in this game). The Orc could move in an attack the Wizard, potentially preventing our dwarf from moving, so we really should wait for Mogri to move his guys before declaring too much movement ourselves. I do however, think some sort of "this is what I'm going to try and do next turn" can be helpful to keep the game moving tho. |

Very true that we probably won't see the entire board, but it is possible, so it's best to err on the side of caution. Also, in this room there are 3 of us to only one greenskin, and the quest description says this ends with a boss encounter, so I'm playing it a bit conservative with the magics.

Technically we've skipped over ZARGONS turn entirely but he's evil so piss on him.

Now, let's see... where were we?
Evil Turn The orc moves to H16 and takes out its anger on Sylvis with a critical hit: three out of three. Defend that! The goblin takes a shot at Guts, scoring one hit. Guts Turn Guts is just joshing around with the gobbo. No one gets hurt. Dorf Turn Frupladlusfidrotus moves to H17 and attacks. The orc fails to defend, and then he fails to exist. Elf Turn There's nobody here! Also, I need a defense roll from you. |

Roku's action will depend on the results of the Elf's defense roll.

Lol. Also I like how Guts is now a race... er class... er what ever Dorfs and Elves are considered for this game.

D&D 1e had Elf as a class. I don't remember if you could choose race for other classes. I think I've mentioned that it's the probable inspiration behind a lot of things in this game.

This game seems to be a mish-mash of elements from 1st Ed D&D and WFRP. Most importantly, it's just a lot of fun. =)

Where is our elf friend? There are monsters to slay!
Question: could it speed things up if we (i.e. Mogri and all players) simply rolled both for attack AND monster defense at the same time? I.E. Guts wants to gib another Orc. He rolls (in invisible castle code) 3d6.hits(4); 2d6.hits(5) = 0 hit, 0 defense and instead of fighting, Guts and the Orc go dancing. |

Look what I found!
Nerd nitpick: 1st Edition D&D (and Original D&D before it) had races and classes as separate. Basic D&D had races as classes. |

How many Body points does Sylvis have left?

Roku heals Sylvis back to full health, then opens the door. An old weapon rack, an angry-looking goblin, and OH MY GOODNESS WHAT IS THAT THING
It's everybody's favorite lizardman equivalent: the Fimir! Somewhat more threatening than orcs by virtue of better defenses, fimirs still don't have enough punch to kill Roku. This one in particular doesn't hit at all. Maybe one of these fancier models could've done the trick! The goblin at K15 stays where he is, since the fimir and Roku are blocking both sides of the doorway. Meanwhile, Guts's new friend swings and misses as well. Whole lotta nothin' going on here in HeroQuest! Let's see if Guts can carry on the proud tradition. |

Do you mind if I roll the Goblin's defense roll with my attack roll? I really think it would speed things up for all players to just say "Goblin takes X damage" or "Guts takes 3 damage". I don't mind you doing it for me; better than waiting for me to see it.
Not that it matters anyway, as I once again swing and miss. Clearly, me and this Goblin don't really want to kill each other. Perhaps he's a Rush fan too? |

Yeah, it was set to monster defense instead of attack, but unfortunately for the big green and ugly, Roku is a wall.

oh haha
And yeah, go ahead and roll defense with your attack. I don't mind, and it speeds things up a touch. |
