Voltron with Roku two spots to the side of the door?

NOTHING?
You should appreciate that this is a virtual game because I want to Guts out and flip it. *grumble grumble Voltron grumble grumble* I still have 3 health left right? I hope so because I am KICKING THIS DOOR DOWN. (I'm also assuming we don't have any health potions among us, at least according to the last list that Mogri made.) |

Mogri, I need a ruling on a spell. Can I cast Courage on GUTS if there are no enemies currently in view? It doesn't say I can't in the description but it's kinda ambiguous.

You can cast it, but it fades immediately since he can't see any enemies.

KICKING DOORS OVER HERE HOW ABOUT NOW? /capsban

Hey, look! It's Verag the Gargoyle, boss of this scenario and general mean fella. How mean are we talking? Well! Thanks for playing, everyone. It's been nice knowing you. I can't offer you much in the way of consolation aside from this fancy painted version of the Gargoyle miniature. (The wings and head are detachable. I had a lot of fun with that mini as a kid.) Incidentally, there's another one of your friendly neighborhood Chaos Warriors that kicked your butt in here, as well as two Orcs who look like kittens in comparison. Don't forget, though: you only need to kill Verag and escape in order to claim victory. On the other hand, there IS a treasure chest in this room... and what are the odds of Zargon putting two empty treasure chests in the same dungeon? Quote:

5 defence dice? Really, HeroQuest makers? Really? I'm starting to see why I never liked this game much as a kid. It was one of the original randomizer abuse RPGs, and nothing exemplifies that quite as much as making an enemy who you effectively have less than half a chance to hit.

It's not quite that bad. Bear in mind the enemy's defense only gets a success on a 6, while heroes defend on a 5 or 6. There's a 40% chance that the Gargoyle will roll zero shields. Meanwhile, the Barbarian under the effects of Courage would roll 5 attack dice. In this case, the Barbarian is mostly dead, so the Elf might be a better target, but 4 attack dice is still pretty good.
Anyway, this is an extremely combat-heavy quest, and we won't see one with this much combat for quite a long time. |

Alright, rushing in seems like we'd just get slaughtered. How about I move back to say, Q13, and we'll let them come at us one at a time? If Elf-boy drops below 3 hp, he can move behind me there.
We can save the courage spell for when the Gargoyle steps out. How does that sound? I think that's probably our best odds. |

The wings are also incredibly breakable. I never met a gargoyle that didn't snap one off at least once.

That being said this game reminds me of when I used to play heroscape with their easily lose-able detachable pieces (mostly wings!!!). |

The Elf and Dwarf each have two attack dice. It's the Wizard who's dead weight, so to speak.

Just wait until I get a Staff, then I won't be so combat-useless. In the meantime, I have the Courage spell (for the Dwarf I think) and I can try a Sleep spell next round on either the Gargoyle or the Chaos Warrior.

You'll definitely want the sleep spell for the Gargoyle.
Remember that you'll need "line-of-sight" (or rather, WE'LL need LOS) to stick courage (a good choice for the Chaos Warrior). No objections to my previous plan otherwise? If not, I move behind the Elf and it's Mogri's turn? |

Go for it.

The gargoyle glares at his minions. The Chaos Warrior glares at the orcs. The orcs frown at each other and play a couple games of rock-paper-scissors (the first one is a tie). The loser grunts something that you can only assume is Orcish for "Best two out of three?" Verag barks at him, and he droops his shoulders and walks out the door and halfheartedly swings at Frupladlusfidrotus, dealing a single point of damage.

Officially, we're waiting on Eddie. Unofficially, he's probably going to pass, so we're waiting on Loki.

Right. I'm just sitting here until I need to be tagged in.

I'm not quite sure of the plan here. I guess I should move to Q10 and make a road block?
|
#501
|
|||
|
|||
You ARE the roadblock. Sit there and whack enemies that come out; this is the only way we'll likely survive long enough to beat this boss. If you drop below 3 hp, we'll see if you can't switch out for me somehow.

Ah, see, Guts moved out of the way. Right now, it's an orc sandwich, with dwarf and elf as bread.

Nope I move!
I'm moin! |

I'll go ahead and make a contingency attack on the orc: orc is dead regardless.
I stay put and await the next contender. |

Is Loki moving? I am confuse.

He might have gone... Rogue.

What part of I am moving is unclear.

So... you don't like the plan?

What!?
I am moving into place into Q10. Right now I'm at Q9. I want to be at Q10 so I can block the orc. Why is this so confusssssssssihgoihgpnapkbmfsph;kp]' |
