That's no woman... that's a space station.
Also, Axe Lane. |

I'd fire my proton torpedos down her exhaust port.
And by proton torpedos, I mean mind explosions. And by exhaust port, I mean brain. You know. To kill her. And nthing Axe Lane. Maybe there's a legendary weapon down such an awesome street name! |

South it is, then.

"This warhammer costs fourty k!"
#396

We need a backpack (don't we?) and a sword! also buy the warhammer for fun so we can go apeshit on not-orks!

KKKKKKKKKK
KKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKK Here you go! Warhammer and fur blanket, if you please; it gets mighty chilly when you're covered in the jellied skulls of your foes. |

No axes? Man that street name is so misleading. I'd take a blanket, a backpack, and a sword. Because I like cutting things more than smashing them.
#399
I say go for the blanket, backpack, spear and dagger.
#400
Don't we still have our backpack?
I say we get a warhammer and a blanket. After all the stuff we've lost, any more would probably be wasted. |
#401

what do we need a blanket for?! We have our Kai cloak! Or the tatters of it, somewhere, it's how everyone recognizes us.

Great
now the image I have of Lone Wolf is not the indomitable hero Loki has drawn for us but instead Linus from Peanuts... Thanks... Our blankey holding hero is sure to defeat all enemies... By crying on them
#405
I am bummed that there weren't any B. C. Rich Warlocks on Axe Street. How is Lone Wolf supposed to rock out? \m/ \m/
Anyway, a sword to make stabby, a backback to make spacey, and a blanket because when the time comes to be smooove with a an itinerant acrobat or cute sneakthief, a soft blanket will be more suitable for nocturnal lovin' coverin' than a tattered Kai robe. Cloak. Whatever. |

*Sigh* I wish there were more astronomers and sages that sold warhammers. At least we can support this one with some hard-earned cash!
Let's get a backpack, Gredlen's blankey (a fur blankey! Arctic adventures, here we come!), and yes, I vote for a warhammer. Why is it more expensive than any other weapon? I don't know -- let's find out! |

I'm getting weird looks at work now from laughing so much, thanks.

I believe this is right on the money. Blanket and Backpack for who-knows-what, spear because they're awesome, dagger in case something happens to the spear.

Okay, so I got the backpack, spear, warhammer, and Gredlen's blanket. This leaves me with 19 gold and I'm all set to go.

Damn it, Gredlen! This is all your fault. Short by one freakin gold coin. grumble gumble gumble... Quote:

The entrance hall opens out into a huge room where many gambling games are in progress. One that catches your eye is called 'Cartwheel'. At one end of a long table, an attractive young woman spins a black dish divided into ten sections marked 0-9. As the dish spins, she drops a small silver ball into it which eventually comes to rest in one of the numbered sections. Several merchants are seated around the table and they are betting heavily on the fall of the silver ball.[/QUOTE] Dear lord is everyone in this country hideous? I thought the book said the game was run by an attractive woman, not the elephant man. I'm just going to pretend that she's a healslime instead. Quote:
WHAT NUMBER SHOULD I PICK, TALKING TIME? |
#410
Well, since you win on X, X-1 or X+1 you want to stay away from 0 and 9 since those give you only a 2/10 instead of 3/10 chance of winning.
Personally I don't think you should gamble at all. You might walk into a crippling addiction. Or, just use savestates and reroll every time you don't win. I mean, you said it was a Dragon Quest casino, right? Act like it! |
#411

Three. The answer is always Three. Unless it's Mussolini.
#412
Actualy, there's a foot note that states that 9 raps around to 0 so you win half on them if you pick the other.
THREE it is! . .. ... ...8. Crap. I'm down to 1 gold. This next number you guys pick better be a winner. |
#413
I believe the errata for this book says that on the casino wheel 0 and 9 are next to each other.
But don't bet all our money! Jerk! Then we'll never get to whatsit. |
#414
I've got to keep playing until I either win enough for the ticket or run out all together.
...You're the jerk... |
#415
Never give up on a number, or you will anger it and it'll never pay off for you again.
Bet on three till you shake the money tree! |
#416
Well, at least we have our blanket if we need to spend the night in a gutter.
#417
Clearly you lost, because you didn't pick 6.
Also, clearly you should have only bought one weapon. Greedy bastard. |
#418
I'm.. pretty sure there's a way to continue on without buying a ticket, isn't there?
#419
You shouldn't have bet more than 8 gold You can't win more than 40, remember?
You are ALSO GAMBLING INSTEAD OF PLAYING HALO 3 WITH US. What's more fun, knocking three of us in a warthog over a cliff with a gravity hammer, or rolling a single, sad die and losing 18 golds. Still, yay for this Let's Play not dying too!!! Bet on 3. ....oh, ample said three too! cool. |

Ample Vigour never picks a loser. I learned everything I know about gambling (and that's a lot) from the writings of the greatest gambler ever to live.
