That one's Eliwood's Tale only, and I'm pretty sure it misses a bunch of stuff. Serenes Forest provides a good transcript of Hector's Tale, but it stops right after Valor.
And it's under "Fire Emblem" because that's what the game was called in English. The Blazing Sword may have been the seventh Fire Emblem game, but as far as the West is concerned, it was the first. |

Thanks, I'll be sure to use that.
No update today because I'm all burned out from rebattling Battle Network 4's final boss something like fifteen times so I could get a (bad) screen capture of his desperation move. |

Heeding the archsage Athos's advice, Hector sets out for Bern. Bern: the greatest military force on the continent. The Lycian League has always enjoyed close relations with the kingdom of Bern. Recently, however, King Desmond has begun to flaunt his military strength. Lycian nobles can no longer move freely within Bern's borders. Hector and his group enter the country in the guise of simple travelers.

I can just barely afford this, but it means I’m going to have to say goodbye to my current ranking. *sigh* Quote:

Wow, and here I'd assumed Dart was kind of a jerk, playing dumb all this time.

In the name of Suwako Moriya, that looked /terrible./
It reminds me of terrible, horrifying things. I'm recounting the horrors of swordmasters duplicating themselves and cutting Hector in twain. Florina missing an archer with a 90% chance to hit, with no points for guessing what happens next (Hint: arrows that explode in a blazing, painful light after being twirled). REBECCA BEING ZAPPED INTO FRIED SNIPER BY AN ASSHOLE YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE WITH LONG RANGE MAGIC. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUU FOG OF WAR NOBODY LIKES IT GO AWAY Hector Hard Mode is Hard. Also, Farina -> Cavalier. You can never have too many. And... will the three sisters still be able to Triangle Attack? |

I think they have to be Pegasus Knights to do that, but I might try it.
Also, as a completely random thought, for the FE6 run, would it be okay if I based the army around Roy and his many love interests? Because if FE6's ending works the way I think it does, I might be able to get Roy to marry all six of them. (Also Roy would be completely overpowered with six A Supports fueling him) On a more serious note, I'd actually like to promote Roy earlier than the story does. Like, say, after Etruria? I won't be giving Roy the Sword of Seals, I'd just be changing his class. |

(Thanks to Charpig on the Serenes Forest forums for most of the script).
The Bern royal family is a pageant of power, love, and hate. Eliwood finds himself embroiled in their troubles. He has been sent to recover the Bern family treasure: the Fire Emblem. It has been stolen from the palace vault. Relying on information that he has uncovered in the city, Hector heads south to an area filled with lakes and marshes. The Kent - Fiora Support (which I’m using because Kent and Fiora have proved to be worthy of slots on my team) is kind of disappointing. The two are basically gender swaps of each other, so I guess I might be expecting too much, but the romance aspect of it is almost as shoehorned as the Sain - Rebecca Support. It’s kind of amusing if you mix it with the Kent - Sain Support though. Quote:

Oops, I forgot something.
Bartre promoted! I had to change his class to Pirate first though, and I just hacked in an Ocean Seal instead of using the one I have because I am not just going to waste 50,000 gold like that. And FYI? The HP cap is 60. More importantly, next chapter I get a Heaven's Seal! Should I just use it on Eliwood, or Lyn? EDIT: Ahahahaha wow. Even if they're not Pegasus Knights, Florina, Fiora, and Farina can still do the Triangle Attack. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-14-2011 at 10:30 PM. |

Hector and his allies defeat the Black Fang monster, Pascal. However, they learn nothing of the Fire Emblem's location. To escape from the Black Fang, they disguise themselves once more. At Eliwood's suggestion, they head for the royal palace of Bern.
Dialogue differences between Hector’s and Eliwood’s tales are too minor for me to write them up. Just know that this time Hector couldn’t use the Heaven Seal. I’m pretty sure it’s possible to finish this map early by killing Vaida, but doing so would mean not being able to recruit her. The village at the bottom gives a Hammerne staff (though you’ll have to rush to save it), and one of the houses has a NPC who reveals a bit about Mark’s backstory, namely that at some point he collapsed at Bern too. Quote:
Speaking of Vaida, I want that super Spear she’s holding. To get it, I’ll need one of these. The Mine item has a really odd bug. If you reset the game during its animation… Once you resume the chapter you can control the enemy units. Once I’ve done this, I can have Vaida trade her Spear to the Wyvern Riders around her, and then Steal it. But I didn’t bring Serra and even if I did, she’d be too far away. My other choice is to have Vaida and her Wyvern Riders do a chain of trades until I can trade the Spear to an enemy units that can drop something. But since I did the Mine trick on the first turn I can’t get close enough. I guess I should just reset and try again, but screw that. I have to live up to this micro LP’s title. Much like how the main Lord is always slot 1, the enemy boss has their own special slot. Because of this, I can modify them as if they were my own character. I could change their class, change their stats, change who they are, make their items useless, or, more pertinently, give them infinite turns. By the way, I used the word “could” for a reason. It might be amusing to make the boss completely harmless, but that would be lame. But I feel like being lame right now, so I’m going to take advantage of Vaida’s infinite turns and the Armory on this shop to get some money by stealing all of the Wyvern Rider’s equipment and selling it. And because I’ve still got total control of the enemy units, I’ll arrange them in absurdly stupid positions and rearrange their equipment so I can easily kill them off. Quote:
Nobody voted, so I’ll just promote Eliwood. Yay. Now to give this to Farina and Voila. To be honest though, the super Spear is pretty much just for show, since it only has 15 uses. Quote:
All the weaponless Wyvern Riders flew up here, so Eliwood’s riding up to catch them. Quote:
I was serious about the three sisters still being able to Triangle Attack by the way. It looks like it’s coded into their character data, not their classes. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-15-2011 at 09:07 PM. |

Because this game doesn’t have any female Wyvern Riders to promote, the designers decided to not even bother keeping the FE6 promotion gains. As such, all Florina’s promotion does is boost her Constitution. With the aid of codes though, I can manually boost Florina’s stats. According to Serenes Forest, a promoted female Wyvern Rider gets +5 to HP and +2 to everything else but Luck. Guy is now ready for promotion. Jesus, he’s maxed Strength, Skill and Speed. Quote:
Chapter 27: Pale Flower of Darkness Normally you can only get one character from Pale Flower of Darkness, but with the help of codes I can get both. (HP: 80%, Str: 35%, Skl: 30%, Spd: 40%, Lck: 20%, Def: 30%, Res: 25%) First up is Harken. Holy shit, Harken. Look at those base stats; it doesn’t matter how crappy his growths are, Harken is never going to die with bases like those. Even better, he comes with a free Brave Sword! A god damned Brave Sword! (HP: 70%, Str: 30%, Skl: 50%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 30%, Def: 10%, Res: 15%) Then there’s Karel. Compared to Harken this guy is nothing, but I might as well get him. Quote:

Guy promoting into a class that wasn’t Swordmaster screwed things up so much the game decided to just skip the normal cutscene. Because my melee units have a higher combined level than my magic units, I’m not going to be facing Kenneth like Tanto did. I’m going to be facing Jerme. The only dialogue differences are the conversations involving the bosses. Quote:

This map’s weather is a pain. Blizzards will start and stop without warning, and they essentially act like rain. Aside from that, there are a bunch of doors you have to unlock to defeat the enemies inside. If you’ve unlocked less than 4 by Turn 9, Harken will show up. But if you unlock more than 4, Karel will show up inside. In other words, like how Kenneth’s version of Pale Flower of Darkness makes getting Karel easy, Jerme’s version makes it much more likely you’ll get Harken. Check out FuSoYa Archsage Pent. I am going to be using the Physic he comes with as much as I can. Quote:

Harken can kill anyone on this map with ease. Well, with his Brave Sword anyways. Without it he’ll just severely cripple everything he can’t double. And that’s a really good thing, since if an enemy doesn’t die, he’ll block other enemies from getting closer. Oh, and Fiora promoted. haha oh my god those idiots are attacking harken And the western line of Wyvern Riders/Lords all decided to attack Bartre because… I don’t know, they were suicidal? Also, enemy phase level ups can go to hell. Seriously, two levels without Strength? Quote:

(HP: 65%, Str: 15%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 20%, Def: 30%, Res: 30%) Jaffar, on the other hand, is the only Assassin in the game worth using. Two assassins in the employ of the Black Fang move in. They've been set loose in the palace to murder the crown prince, Zephiel. Hector hurries to prevent them from fulfilling their contract.
Quote:
(Battle Before Dawn’s map is awkwardly large, so I’m better off just borrowing the image from Serenes Forest. It‘s all just Fog of War anyways.) This chapter can go right to hell. It’s pretty much entirely luck; you need to hope Nino and Jaffar survive long enough for you to recruit the former and talk to the latter, and the entire time you have to hope that Ursula doesn’t get a lucky shot in with her Bolting. And if that wasn’t bad enough, there are a total of four chests I need to open, and I only have one Thief. Did I mention that Harken starts with a B in both Swords and Axes? Because he does, and it’s totally awesome. Quote:
Damn it. Jaffar killed him on the counter attack, but this is the second time he’s been hit because of a Reaver weapon and some bad luck. I don’t have a clue why the computer thought it would be a good idea to attack a lance user with a Swordreaver though. SON OF A FEMALE DOG. Oh well, at least I can just load state and try again. RNG manipulation isn’t just for level ups. If the next set of random numbers is going to result in Jaffar dying, I just need to burn through them and try again. It worked. Jaffar dodged one of the Swordreavers, so he managed to get a way and heal. Even better, he’s blocking the enemy Thief from entering the chest room. Quote:
Only three damage? What the heck is this guy’s Resistance? what the christ Good thing Bartre’s here. Quote:
Before I recruit Nino, I have to kill Ursula. That’s really easy though. You just need to lure her into using Bolting, then rush her. The weight of the Bolting tome will almost guarantee a double attack for you, and though Ursula’s Resistance is capped her Defense certainly isn’t. Second priority now is to block the entrances to the treasure rooms until Serra gets over. I also have to hurry up and send someone to protect Zephiel. Alright, got Nino. Now to save Jaffar. |

Quote:
Getting Jaffar to Nino was easy. Florina rescued him, then moved as far right as possible. Bartre then ran over, took Jaffar from Florina, and dropped him. Fiora and Harken proceeded to do the exact same thing. Where do you think you are, Tellius? Quote:
I used the trick from earlier to get Serra over to the eastern chests. In total, I got a Brave Lance, some Boots, a Delphi Shield with Florina‘s name on it, and a Rescue. Quote:
Quote:
Chapter 28x: Night of Farewells Jaffar and Nino, Black Fang assassins. Although Hector cannot forget his hatred for Nergal's former henchman, Jaffar, Hector allows him to join the group, with Nino at his side. That night… There’s only one notable difference in the script. Quote:
I used to think this map was hard. Then I played the FE6 version. Anyways, this map is an excellent source of experience, so I’m going to be using it to help everyone promote. Farewell, Funds ranking. First up is Rebecca. I’m glad to say her new sprite has finally decided to put on some clothes. These assholes over here need to die before they start spamming Berserk. I originally intended to just charge through the chapter, but at some point a strategy of sorts formed.
Jaffar, Rebecca, Harken, and Wil are following the path as far as possible, with Hector and Nino a bit behind them. Florina flew straight to the Bishops to murder them, and along the way drew the attention of everyone with a Bolting. Thankfully, none of them can hit her. Bartre is just taking a straight path to Sonia. It’s going to take a while since he’s killing everyone in the way. Finally, Lyn, Guy, and Farina are parked at the entrance, killing nearby spawning enemies. Raven is there for support, since Rebecca has her own Heal stave. FYI, I tried leaving Nino here, but everyone else was too strong to leave any opponents just weak enough for her to kill. Also, I was busy enough raising Farina. Sonia is the only one that actually has a chance at hitting Florina. Quote:
Quote:
Bartre does not need puny Killer weapons to critical. While I’m at it, neither does Wil, though in his case it‘s because of his A Support with Rebecca. (Does anyone want me to explain Supports?) I don’t even remember where I got that Chest Key. Oh well, at least I used it. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-18-2011 at 12:51 PM. |

Sisterly love, death threats, forbidden lore, family obligations, and then YAY COOKING! This game, man.
Also, from what I understand, each unit has an affinity, and it "passes on" the bonuses of this affinity to units it supports. Each one boosts three or four different stats, and these boosts are multipliers, very powerful and cumulative, meaning that they can make a subpar unit workable and a good unit invincible. For example, Wallace's Lightning affinity improves defense, chances to dodge, and crit-related stuff for any unit near him with a support with him. |

Not quite. You are correct that Support bonuses are determined by affinity though.
Quote:
Anima boosts Attack/Defense by 0.5 and Avoid/Critical Evade by 2.5. Wind boosts Attack by 0.5 and Accuracy/Critical chance/Critical Evade by 2.5. Added up and rounded down, that's +1 to Attack, +2 to Avoid/Accuracy/Critical chance, and +5 to Critical Evade. Pretty lame, huh? That's where Support levels come in. If the units have a B Support, everything is multiplied by two before addition. And if they have an A support, everything is multiplied by 3 before addition. Since Kent and Fiora have an A Support, they get +3 to Attack, +1 to Defense, +7 to Accuracy/Critical chance, and +15 to Avoid/Critical Evade. Add that to their base stats and their own equipment, and you can get some absurd things. Is it a bad sign that I'm still surprised whenever I see someone besides me posting in one of my LPs? EDIT: Out of curiousity, I decided to crunch some numbers and see what Roy would get if he got an A Support bonus from every single one of his possible wives. That would be Fire plus Light, Anima, Darkness, Wind, Wind and Thunder. He got +7 Attack, +4 Defense, +37 Accuracy, +30 Avoid, +45 Critical Chance, and +37 Critical Evade. And if you count Wolt into the picture (which would give the remaining element, Ice), Roy gets +7 Attack, +6 Defense, +45 Accuracy, +37 Avoid, +45 Critical Chance, and +45 Critical Evade. It's a shame that the majority of Roy's harem (not talking about Wolt) can't Support with each other though. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-18-2011 at 12:30 AM. |
