So, just as a note of what's to come, Priscilla sucked. Even after twenty resets, I couldn't get her to get a level up that didn't suck.
Also, Castle Caelin is full of archers and Port Badon is filled with axe users. And you guys made me bring in two aerial units. |

I won’t be supersizing any maps bigger than four screens. Anyways, the main things to note about Castle Caelin is that there are way too many Archers. So all you people who asked me to bring Florina and wanted Priscilla to be a Pegasus Knight? Screw you. Also, from turn 7 onwards a Cavalier and a Nomad will spawn at the bottom of the map and will totally kill Merlinus if you don‘t leave some people behind. That’s why I had to repeat this mission. As for strategy, what’s there to say? Move forward, recruit Raven and Lucius, save the stupid Caelin NPCs, open the chests (bottom two hold an Unlock and a Hero Crest, top two hold a Silver Sword and a Knight Crest), and kill the boss. Quote:

Alright, time to make Raven change his gender… next chapter. The codes only go up to slot 16, and Raven’s in either slot 19 or 20. Quote:
Crap. What are you idiots doing there are two archers right there argh Quote:

I reset something like twenty times trying to get Priscilla a level up that didn’t suck. This was the best I could do. I think this boss is screwed. He was. Quote:
Chapter 17x: The Port of Badon Hector’s Tale features a notably different conversation with Fargus. Quote:
The way you’re supposed to handle this map is to sneak around the main forces using the upper path. You guys asked me to just charge through the middle. This is both a terrible idea and an excellent one. The pirates on the main path are as strong as hell and have some super powerful equipment (though one has a Devil Axe). Beating them both gives a ton of experience and quickly clears a path to the arena. Since I have ten turns to beat this chapter for a good Tactics score, and because I need a bunch of money if you ever want to get anything done in this game, getting to the arena as fast as possible is a priority. Also, Canas! I can’t change his class yet, but he’s going to just be walking around visiting villages for me. Also, Bartre is taking his Secret Book. With it, he’ll have raised his Skill high enough to no longer have to worry about it. There is a conveniently placed tree right here, and Eliwood’s going to be making the most of it. Crap. On Hector’s Tale (or is it just on Hard?), this boss moves. Quote:
Thankfully, the boss decided to attack Hector, who proceeded to double critical him into oblivion. A mediocre level up, but not having to deal with a Paladin is worth it. This time it’s a terrible level up, but having Eliwood survive this really, really, really, REALLY dangerous Pirate is more than worth it. Turn 3 of Operation Suicide. The Pirate I’m displaying and that Archer down there both hold Killer weapons, so they need to die now. It probably says something about these enemies that a critical hit did not kill this Archer. Quote:
This guy, though? He’s dead. I have no idea why I’m getting so many criticals, but I’m not going to complain. |

I need someone to take the upper path, and Lyn seemed like a good idea. I’m sure she won’t resent not being part of the Pirate slaughter. Turn 4 of Operation Suicide. Eliwood personally killed at least four Pirates, but now his Rapier is almost broken. Meanwhile, Hector rescued Wil and proceeded to survive something like five attacks in a row. I should go heal him. oh god what is that I know I said I was going to have Canas just visit villages, but this Archer seriously needs to die. Quote:
I’ve got three turns. Let’s do this. In the end I got about 3000 gold and one level. Not really worth it, in my opinion. Chapter 18: Pirate Ship No new unit next time, but I’m going to be doing two chapters again. As such, this time you guys decide the fate of Fiora and Dart. (HP: 70%, Str: 35%, Skl: 60%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 30%, Def: 20%, Res: 50%) (HP: 70%, Str: 65%, Skl: 20%, Spd: 60%, Lck: 35%, Def: 20%, Res: 15%) I'm also still counting votes for Canas. You, sir, are batshit insane.
I also suggest we make Fiora an archer or cavalier if the archer sprite is too ugly due to the mounted/unmounted thing. Last edited by Satonakaja; 07-05-2011 at 06:00 PM. |

Luck manipulation yay
I dunno, bigger numbers kind of got boring after a while. Making numbers small and interesting is nice.
I...think you're set with these guys. How close is Hector to capping various things?

I believe all unpromoted units (Lords included) have all stats (except HP) capped at 20.

Turning Canas into an Archsage would make him completely useless for the same reason turning him into any other promoted class would make him useless.

Rapid contradiction aside, he's got a monocle. (Do non-main Lords work for Seizing? If so, change Hector into a General soon.)

Canas: Make him a Pirate. YARRRRR Dart: I'm guessing he's not up for voting for the same reason Raven couldn't be changed right away? In any case, I say we turn him into either a Knight or a Fighter, depending on which one looks better in the end. Fiora: Do Cavaliers have female sprites in FE7? If so, make her one. If not, make her a WyvernRider instead. |

Oh damn, I actually forgot about Dart. But yeah, he's up for voting.
(What I'm trying to say is that after the incredibly basic movements of Fire Emblem, Super Robot War's crazy ass animations are really, really refreshing. Plus, personal battle themes.) Nope. And seriously, I'm not changing any of the Lords. The special weapons are tied to their classes, not their character data, so changing their classes would ban me from using the Rapier, Wolf Beil, Mani Katti, Durandal, Armads, and Sol Katti. I kind of need those. |

But SRW can be faster than Fire Emblem. Or at least more convenient to turn animations off and on, since you can easily do that on a per-attack basis instead of having to dive through option menus for it, and you can just skip the rest of the battle animation if you don't want to watch the whole thing. I usually only turn them on when I want to see some bastard boss get wrecked in an awesome way. I'm feeling like Geitz might be the best option. Or at least most effective, since he's got nice hard mode states, solid growths where it counts, and plenty of levels left to take advantage of them. I kind of want someone to turn into a Magic Seal at some point. It doesn't really matter who, since stats don't really mean much to him. He'll just walk around and ruin everyone's day. |

I’d have liked to use Canas or Guy, but I only get 8 units, and Matthew, Rebecca, and Raven need to catch up. I threw in Wil simply because Rebecca could use the assist. Anyways, strategy. Kill everything. Watch out for those Pegasus Knights though; they still hate Merlinus. It’s a good idea to buy some weapons here. There’s no way to restock on Dread Isle, and I’m already running low on weapons anyways. Anyways, I gave Eliwood the Silver Card to essentially double my money (the game counts the overall value of all of your items for your Funds ranking. When you buy something with a Silver Card, you get it at half the price, but the item retains its value. As such, if you constantly buy everything with a Silver Card you can quickly boost up your Funds ranking). I swear to God the RNG was just fucking with me here. I had to go through almost seventeen random numbers before I got a level up that didn’t just boost HP. Quote:
Man, what is up with this chapter? It took a ridiculous amount of resets to get just this. Huh. I don’t remember a third ship boarding. Oh well, Hector and Eliwood are already in position to kill them. Quote:
why didn’t i bring serra argh A mediocre level up, but at least Wil survived. Quote:

Chapter 19: The Dread Isle Hector arrives on the shores of Valor with a new companion in his numbers, an enigmatic young girl named Ninian. The majority of the island is covered in dense forest. Legend has it that no one has ever returned from those dark woods. A dense fog crawls over the party, engulfing them one by one… Cautiously, they move deeper into the trees. To get the side chapter, I need to beat this map in under 15 turns. As such, I went with the best team possible. Well, almost the best team; instead of Serra, I chose Canas. The strategy for this map is to wait for Fiora to appear, then march to Uhai. I hope Clownas looks better as a Berserker. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-06-2011 at 04:27 PM. |

Alright, time to charge. Egh, the next Support Conversation… for it to make sense, it pretty much has to play immediately after Wil and Rebecca’s B Support and before the two meet Dart. Yet at the same time, I think the overall tone of it works better after the Lyn and Will A Support. That’s why I’ve delayed it until now. Quote:
I think Raven and Priscilla are cursed. It sucks that I can’t really manipulate enemy phase level ups. Quote:
The Wil/Rebecca - Dart Supports work pretty well when you mix them together, but they unfortunately don’t mesh too well with the Wil - Rebecca Supports. This really annoys me for some reason. Quote:

As it turns out, killing Aion is a bad idea on Hector‘s Tale, as it causes Kishuna to immediately flee the next enemy phase. By the way, I had Serra steal his Silver Card to see if I can double the discount. I’ve arranged things so that if Hector gets a Critical (which he has a pretty good chance of, actually), I win. If he doesn’t, Kishuna will just teleport away. *saves state and begins RNG abuse* There we go. These four Mages have been attacking Merlinus unopposed for two turns now. They still haven’t killed him because Merlinus is pretty damn evasive for a tent. Now then, if you’re playing on Hector’s Tale, defeated Kishuna in Chapter 19x, and leveled Nils up to at least level 7 during Lyn’s Tale, you’re rewarded with Chapter 19xx: A Glimpse in Time All of their battles have led them here. Now, at long last, they’ve finally reached the Dragon’s Gate. Hector gains a brief respite before the decisive battle. Shortly thereafter, he notices something… Ninian has gone missing. There! Her pale figure vanishes into the dark woods. Her gait is unsteady, as though she were possessed. Hector quickly gives chase. This time you guys are voting for Fiora and Dart. Their growths are at the end of the last update. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 07-06-2011 at 07:16 PM. |

Take out the Supports and the sense of thrill/suspense I get from the randomized level ups, and I probably wouldn't play Fire Emblem. Heh, I hadn't seen the Lucius/Priscilla Support before. It actually plays really well into Lucius and Raven's, uh, relationship. |

Okay, first things first, don’t bring either flying units or low HP units. There are tons of long range enemies everywhere, and they’re more than happy to kill you. Second off, see that corridor down there? Don’t take it. There’s a Sniper and two Archers down there, and they’re ready to kill you. Finally, those two treasure chests down there? You’re not going to get them. There’s at least four Thieves on this map, and the ones not picking chests are going to be picking your pockets. Quote:
In a rare display of mercy, all of the Thieves have maxed Speed except for the one that spawns right next to the bottom two treasure chests. I can have Serra steal the Dragon Shield and kill the Thief for the Eclipse. Speaking of Eclipse, that’s what the boss is equipped with. It’s still laughably inaccurate though, so no worries. Hello there. Quote:
Quote:
Chapter 20: Dragon’s Gate Following Uhai’s last words, Hector ventures toward the heart of the forest. He is greeted by an extraordinary sight. A building unlike any he’s ever seen. It was clearly not wrought by human hands… It is waiting… waiting for the masters who abandoned it centuries past. Massive beyond belief, these ancient ruins have nothing to do with humankind. Hector has arrived. He has found the Dragon’s Gate. (HP: 60%, Str: 25%, Skl: 45%, Spd: 60%, Lck: 60%, Def: 25%, Res: 25%) Legault is the same level as Serra, and he beats her in every stat but Strength, Resistance, and Luck. That’s Hard Mode bonuses for you. Quote:
