Nah, the Support system in FE6-8 is honestly just terrible. Standing around for 50 turns doing nothing is just the epitome of not fun.
FE9 handled it beautifully though. There you just have to have two compatible units enter the same chapter together. FE10 and FE11 did something like that too, but they removed detailed Support Conversations in favor of one liners/removed Support Conversations all together. |

I don't care the particulars but make somebody a Cavalier this time. I got a hankering for cavaliering.

If I recall correctly, Fire Emblem 6 has a glut of really big maps. Anyways, strategy here is to advance forward, leaving a few guys behind to deal with the enemy reinforcements. Meanwhile, Roy, Clarine, and Rutger are going to be traveling around unlocking things. Quote:
Oh, and now Saul is a Mamkute. This means he can’t promote (!), but it also means he gets crazy bonuses. Unfortunately, unlike Flametongue, Flame Stone only has a one panel range. why do you all have such terrible growths Seriously, the FE7 guys took like maybe three resets on average to get a decent level up, and it wasn’t very hard to get a boost to a low growth. These guys? These guys are taking more than ten resets, and most times I never even see a single boost to their weak stats. This is ridiculous. At least, that’s what I’d say if I didn’t know how level ups worked. Now I’m just amazed at just how much the RNG is rebelling against me. Clarine got a critical hit, so I guess I have to accept this. Quote:

Barely made it in time. Quote:
You know what? I’m just going to give Clarine infinite turns. This is going to take too long otherwise. Saul’s floating dragon head isn’t as impressive as Nils’, but it’s more powerful. Too bad he gets almost no experience from fighting. |

This looks like a nice Lockpick. I think I’ll take it. Chapter 40: Rebellion at Ostia (HP: 75%, Str: 25%, Skl: 20%, Spd: 20%, Lck: 15%, Def: 30%, Res: 15%) Zealot. The only unit so bad, he dragged down his wife’s stats just by marrying her. Oh well, at least he’s a pretty nice guy. (HP: 85%, Str: 40%, Skl: 30%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 50%, Def: 30%, Res: 5%) I have never used this guy in a battle, but his Supports are pretty funny. (HP: 75%, Str: 30%, Skl: 45%, Spd: 30%, Lck: 40%, Def: 30%, Res: 10%) I usually try to use Noah, but he always proves to be inferior to Alan or Lance. Zealot- Hero, which makes sense storyline wise
Treck- Priest, just because I couldn't think of anything better Noah- Myrmidon |

Zealot: Hmm... don't care.
Treck: Knight. He's got the stats for a pretty good one, truth be told. Noah: I really wish Noah had better stats and growths, because he's got some of the best supports in the game. Ah well, I think he'd make a decent Mercenary at least. Last edited by PapillonReel; 07-25-2011 at 09:10 PM. |

With weapons that are nearly broken because time spent at the previous chapters’ armories is time wasted. Anyways, priority one is to get Roy over to this area as fast as possible. Quote:
Recruitment chain! Zealot’s poll was a decisive victory for Hero, but Treck and Noah are still undecided. I’ll be extending their poll until the next chapter. Quote:
I don’t know why Ostia has so many trees, but I’m going to be taking advantage of it. Too bad it doesn‘t help at all. *loads state* Quote:

I’d rather not use Zealot, but desperate times call for desperate meas- only ten damage are you kidding me Quote:

For some reason, Treck can’t recruit Noah. Oh well, Zealot was in the area. Quote:

SHIT. Oh wait, I’m already done collecting stuff. Quote:
*Spends a surprisingly short amount of time manipulating the RNG for a critical hit* Not the most ideal level up, but I got a critical hit so I’ll have to live with it. Hooray. Chapter 41: Reunion There’s a lot of new characters next time. (HP: 90%, Str: 35%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 50%, Lck: 15%, Def: 20%, Res: 20%) First up is Astol, who is probably only going to be used for this chapter. (HP: 45%, Str: 75%, Skl: 20%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 50%, Def: 10%, Res: 35%) Second up is Lilina. Note how I’ve already given her stats a boost. (If you guys want, I could hack a Door Key into her inventory and have her try to reclaim her castle herself). (HP: 85%, Str: 40%, Skl: 40%, Spd: 40%, Lck: 45%, Def: 30%, Res: 10%) I don’t care what you people say, Wendy (and Generals by proxy) is terrible in my opinion. FE6 just has too many large maps. (HP: 100%, Str: 60%, Skl: 25%, Spd: 20%, Lck: 20%, Def: 40%, Res: 2%) Barth’s Resistance growth is hilarious. (HP: 85%, Str: 40%, Skl: 30%, Spd: 45%, Lck: 55%, Def: 20%, Res: 15%) Oujay’s a pretty cool guy. (By the way, we still have all of those spare FE7 stat boosts.) Quote:

Ah, and here I was thinking it was a bad joke. ^^;
At least I know what happened to Lucius now. I honestly never bothered with supports in FE6 that didn't involve Lugh and a certain someone else. Edit: Scratch that, I went for Lilina and Roy's support too. Because honestly, why wouldn't you? Last edited by Kala; 07-26-2011 at 07:32 PM. |

Astohl. Meh. Meh.
Lilina: Make her a Divine Dragon so she can raze the castle to the ground with her might! Wendy: Yay, Wendy! It's a shame her supports don't go more into her personality, but the fact that she's one of the few (but proud) female Knights makes it difficult for me to begrudge her because of it. I'm tempted to request leaving her as a Knight, but making her a female Mercenary (which, oddly enough, actually exists in the game's coding even though it doesn't have a sprite) sounds like it'd be aces. Barth: Ehh... don't really care much about this guy, truth be told. That mohawk of his is awful and he's got a weird chin, bluh. No sense in letting those growths go to waste, however: let's make him a Cleric so we'll have a really sturdy healer on our team. Oujay: This guy, meanwhile, would make a great Soldier - he's got great growths all-around and is one of the few characters in the game that's not decidedly awful. Also, I request we get to see the entirety of his support with Lilina, as it's one of the few really involving conversations and it really helps flesh his character out. Female Mercenary (along with Female Cavalier and Female Paladin) seem to just be placeholders.
As for Lilina, if I make her a Divine Dragon, she won't be able to promote, and will be restricted to a 20 use weapon. You realize that, right? |

...Why on earth would you change Lilina's class? She needs that 30 Magic Cap to take full advantage of her 75% growth there. I say leave her as is.

As for the uses, why not just hack five stones into her/Merlinus's inventory and use that over the course of the game? |

Because that would just be plain old cheating. It's one thing to change classes and hack a few promotion items in. It's an entirely different thing to hack in a super class and remove its balancing factor.

Fiiine. If that's too much, then let's make her a Myrmidon.

An acceptable choice, but...
(Swordmaster (F) Stat Caps: 22 Str, 29 Skl, 30 Spd, 30 Lck, 22 Def, 25 Res) It doesn't exactly fit Lilina's growths. Honestly, Lilina is probably better off as a Sage. Still, I'll count that vote. |

Like I said, I just feel that they're too slow. Low movement in exchange for high stats isn't a bad thing, but it's a total pain in the ass if you want things done fast.

Man, since when has something being a best fit ever mattered :P
Anyway, the low cap can be made up for by the fact that Swordmasters get a 30% boost to their critical rate in this game - that plus the Wo Dao's 40% Crit means she'll be death on two feet the very moment she promotes. |

To a person like me, that's all that matters. ^^ I may have already said this, but I think LPs should be about breaking the game within its limits, not crippling the person playing.

Yeah, but you only get like one a game, and they're better off on already high movement characters so they can get across the screen even faster.
