Chapter 46: The Real Enemy (HP: 55%, Str: 45%, Skl: 55%, Spd: 40%, Lck: 15%, Def: 15%, Res: 35%) I find it funny that Ray rebelled against his name. (HP: 80%, Str: 40%, Skl: 45%, Spd: 85%, Lck: 50%, Def: 15%, Res: 20%) The Thieves in this game have surprisingly solid growths. I guess it’s to make up for the inability to promote. Quote:

Cath can be your replacement girl mercenary.
Ray can be Roy's decoy Lord. Oh, not allowed? Fine, let's say cavalier. |

? Most, if not all, FE main characters are a bunch of do-gooders. How is that impressive?
Also, classes Cath- Myrmidon Ray- Priest |

You missed an important part of that: "Also". In FE, smart characters are often dicks *cough* Soren *cough*.
But really, if you compare Roy to the rest of the GBA Fire Emblem lords he really is the least dickish. |

I... already started the next chapter and made her a Female Myrmidon...
Oh well, she hasn't done anything spectacular yet, so I'll just change her. |

I support Mercenary Cath! Cath's pretty cool. Sadly, she is not one of Roy's potential wives, despite all you have to do to recruit her...

Huh, thinking about it now, Roy's many potential wives seems like a holdover from FE4, where you could basically get almost anybody married to, well, almost anybody else. |

Roy can't marry Ellen. Anyways, before I start the chapter, I’d like to discuss something.
Even after his stats have been lowered to account for his age, Bartre is still the best character on my team by far. In fact, if it weren’t for his low Resistance (and his inability to Conquer), I think Bartre could comfortably solo the rest of the game. Unfortunately, he’s still a level 13 Berserker, so I can’t use him until the final chapters if I want to give experience to the rest of my team. Quote:
The map for this chapter is ridicularge (12 screen captures are necessary), so I’m not making one. I’m just going to shamelessly use Serenes Forest’s. Quote:
This chapter’s gimmick is that you have two teams. The team on the left has to go through some pretty steep security. The team on the right has to break this wall in order to start slaughtering those Archers. Both sides also have chests. This is a chapter where you’ll want at least two thieves, or else 100% completion is going to take a while. Quote:
Anyways, let’s start! Here I’m faced with a choice. I can either have Lance attack the wall, that Sniper behind the wall, or that Fighter with a Killer Axe. Do I even need to explain what the correct choice was? Aine is the first enemy Mamkute, and he pretty much exists to teach you how much of a bitch dragons are to kill without special equipment or ungodly high stats. All three magic types have a long range attack. Of them all, Eclipse is the most useless; not only does it have incredibly low accuracy, it can’t even kill, it can only halve HP reduce HP to 1. Quote:
For a broken wall, this thing is pretty damn sturdy. Guess what phase this level up was in. Quote:
This asshole has a Sleep staff. It may only have three uses, but damn if those uses aren’t the most frustrating things in the world. Last edited by BlitzBlast; 08-02-2011 at 12:29 PM. |

Quote:
Now if Geese hadn’t fallen asleep, I could break this wall and charge in with Alan. But of course he did so I have to wait till next turn. And I won’t be surprised if that stupid Priest goes and puts Alan to sleep next. God, I hate Fire Emblem status effects so much. Oh well, my main force is already dealing with the wall enemies anyways. Quote:
Hey, guess who that god damned Priest targeted with his last Sleep? Fir! Now I can't unlock those chests before Cath comes and oh my god this is so stupid that sleep only had a 31% chance of hitting what the hell. Speaking of Sleep, Geese is still zoned out, so Lance has to waste a turn rescuing him so Gonzales and Alan can attack. I stupidly moved Lance away, so Alan couldn’t use the Support bonus to finish this Sniper. I hope the Sniper will use his turn to heal, or else the next enemy phase is going to suck. Quote:
The Sniper healed, but this Archer managed to land a bullshit 40% hit. At least Thany has a high enough Staff skill to use Physic. Quote:
Quote:
Because Alan has terrible Skill, I can only now enter the walled off area, two turns after it was accessible. And by this point, almost everybody inside is dead. Since there’s nothing left for them to do now, I’m just going to make Alan and Lance act as meat shields to prevent Cath from opening those chests. Quote:

this game i swear Quote:
Quote:
Fir and Geese have finally woken up, and while it’s too late for Geese to do anything, Fir can at least start raiding chests. Quote:
Cath has been surrounded, so I don’t need to worry about her at least. argh Well, at least I’ve recruited both Ray and Cath. It’s kind of funny that Roy and Cath don’t have a Support. Quote:
After Turn 12, enemy reinforcements will start spawning in the south. Since Fir’s done looting, it’s time to kill Aine. Aine may have ridiculously high Defense, but Roy has ridiculously high Strength. And if Aine survives, Lilina’s poised to take advantage of Aine’s relatively low Resistance. Quote:

Again, terrible level up, but hard to say no to chapter winning criticals. Besides, Roy’s already capped the stats he needs. Quote:
Chapter 46x: The Axe of Lightning Fog of War, poison vents, and a massive amount of chests that mostly contain Elixirs or Antitoxins… 46x, like most of the other Divine Weapon chapters, exists solely to annoy you. Quote:
If I’m going to use Cath, she’s probably going to be needing some of those Strength stat boosts (speaking of those, I’ve decided I’ll just let you guys distribute them after Chapter 47). At least she fits the palette pretty well. Kind of strange how she’s got spots of brown on her though. So at this point I checked the thread again and found another vote for Cath to become a Mercenary. Since the Female Mercenary class doesn’t exist, and since unpromoted units share the same caps, I'll just leave Cath as a Myrmidon until she promotes. Quote:
Quote:
I guess I could try splitting my forces up to take down all of the enemies, but I seriously don’t want to spend any more time in this chapter than I have to. Look out for these things. Poison is far from deadly, but it’s a huge pain in the ass. Quote:
Quote:
Quote:
There really isn’t much I can say about this chapter. It’s a pretty straightforward march to the finish. There is a Druid with an Eclipse, but that’s pretty much the definition of the word pathetic. |

Man, Cath is getting some crazy level ups. Quote:
This guy is dangerous, but… He won’t move from his spot, so I‘ll just use a Javelin. This guy has a Devil Axe. They’re pretty interesting; there‘s a (31-Luck)% chance of it backfiring and damaging the user instead. However, it’s E Rank and gives 8x weapon skill growth, so it’s something worth using if you want to get your Paladin/Hero to learn to use better Axes. Quote:
Quote:
Roy can easily dispose of the boss, but I want to leave Grero alive for another unit to finish off. As long as Roy doesn’t get a critical during his counter attack, things should be fine. For some inconceivable reason this guy chose to use his Hand Axe to attack Roy instead of his Silver Axe. Chapter 47: Rescue Mission Technically there are four new units next time. (HP: 60%, Str: 35%, Skl: 45%, Spd: 25%, Lck: 25%, Def: 20%, Res: 25%) First is Cecilia, who I have to use despite being terrible. (HP: 75%, Str: 30%, Skl: 25%, Spd: 35%, Lck: 20%, Def: 20%, Res: 10%) Second is Percival, who is pretty much the precursor of Harken in that he can survive off of his base stats. I’ve heard that Percival will have higher stats if I wait till Chapter 49, but I want to make Chapter 47 as hard as possible so screw that. (HP: 75%, Str: 50%, Skl: 50%, Spd: 45%, Lck: 25%, Def: 20%, Res: 5%) Third is Miledy, who is basically a gender swapped fusion of Alan and Lance. (HP: 55%, Str: 45%, Skl: 55%, Spd: 40%, Lck: 15%, Def: 15%, Res: 35%) Finally, Sophia is pretty bad. She‘s a glass cannon, except she can‘t double because Female Shamans do not have the Constitution to use Dark magic tomes. Oh well, I have to use her, and you guys can change her to a better class. To get the picture of Sophia, I had to go to the next next chapter. To do so, I tested out my earlier theory. Yes, Bartre could solo Chapter 47. It was hilarious. Quote:

Anyway, voting time: Cecilia: Meh. Percival: I say keep him a Paladin, just because he's awesome in the class as-is. Miledy: Hmm... Miledy can be a Nomad. Sophia: If we're set on keeping Cath a Myrmidon, I vote to make Sophia a Mercenary to make up for it. At least then she'll have the Con to wield weapons properly, and that excellent Str growth would be a great fit for the class. |

Cecilia- Hero, just to be ironic about the whole Mage General thing
Percival- Sage, same reason really Miledy- Paladin, because we need at least one Sophia- Can you give her the uber sage class that Guiniviere (spelled wrong intentionally, I swear) had in the trial maps? Or at least make her a mage and let her promote into that? |

Princess G (I can't spell her name either) was just a normal Sage, only she could cast Light magic.

Which is why you need one, because only bishops can cast light magic and it takes years to level up healers (to be fair, it probably takes just as long to level up Sophia, but at least there's arena grinding if you opt to do that sort of thing). Also, sages > bishops.

Narshen’s theme song is extremely fitting. I still prefer Guinevere’s though. Quote:
If the battle for Ostia was the chapter that reminded the player that they were playing a Fire Emblem game, then the mission to rescue Cecilia is the chapter that reminds the player they’re playing Fire Emblem 6. The map is huge, there are tons of high mobility enemies, a lot of plot happens, and there’s a pain in the ass recruitment that must be done before Turn 9. Quote:
Since there are two paths to take, you might think it’s a good idea to separate your troops. I honestly feel that this is a terrible idea, so I’m only going to take one path. But which one? The bottom bridge has these assholes on it, and at the end is a village with an Al Sword. Anyone marching in is going to get pelted with long range attacks. Better to make them march towards you. Meanwhile, the top bridge has a village with a Body Ring nearby and only a small group of Cavaliers. It’s also the path to Percival. I think it’s obvious which path I chose. Quote:
Quote:
To recruit Percival, Lalum or Elphin has to talk to him. The best way to get them in range is a rescue chain. Since I don’t need all of my troops to recruit Percival, so I think I’ll leave some units behind to deal with these guys. Quote:

Turn 7, and both teams are making great progress. Quote:

Well, this is convenient. Quote:
Ahahaha my luck is terrible. This time, Percival didn’t receive any bonuses to his strength whatsoever. Quote:
From Turn 8 onwards, reinforcements will start spawning at the edges of the map after every four (?) turns. My rear guard will be taking care of them. Quote:
Quote:
Now the only thing left to do is deal with these guys down here. Quote:

Now that I think about it, this is the first time I’m actually blocking off a choke point. Shame I don’t have any Generals. Back on the frontlines, Lilina’s ready to finish things off. I wonder why don’t magic criticals don’t get the red-blue light flash. Quote:
Quote:
I get a prize for keeping Percival’s units alive. It’s not very useful since I’m not using any Cavaliers/Knights. Chapter 48: Arcadia No new units next time! Honestly, though, Cecilia and Sophia are the new units, but I already put up their images. By the way, with the addition of Cecilia and Sophia, Roy’s harem is now complete! Quote:
